Today we’ll visit Harbin’s Central Street or Central Avenue (Chinese: 中央大街) & enjoy European styled architecture representative of the baroque, renaissance, eclectic & modern styles, among others. Central Street has a history dating back to the 20th century when Harbin was home to a large number of Japanese, Russian & Jewish inhabitants who brought in lots of western influenced design. Built in 1898 at 1500 meters (4925 ft) long, this street is not only the longest pedestrian street in Asia but is also Asia’s longest cobbled street. Enjoy the video!

P.S. Central Street was repaved entirely in cobblestone in 1925 to prevent erosion from Harbin’s Songhua River, with the shape of each individual stone crafted to invoke freshly baked bread.
