3 days in Taipei, Taiwan! 🇹🇼 Don’t miss this incredible city!

Just G to walk through the streets of taipe thank you oh my goodness you can  come to this area for that   and then head over to the night market  after Kai he was the leader of [Music] the all right baby you’re up that’s  surprisingly good it is delicious so  

Coming to Tai one first of all you should we  haven’t even been here for a couple hours yet   everywhere so impressed join us in this  video as we head to Tai pay Taiwan we’ll   show you everything we get up to the costs  of everything the areas and neighborhoods  

We visited all of the local attractions and  our recommendations on food and where to stay   so come along let’s go what do we got what  do we got Taiwan hello Taiwan cash to have   a look at all right currently Exchange  ATM by the way yeah pretty over there

[Music] think but how do we change it don’t okay  so we went and tried to pay um for a single Fair   Journey for Leon and I and we only had a 1,000  bill um and it won’t accept it so it’s too high  

Of a denomination so we need to get smaller bills  check yeah you can’t pay by car hey bab there free wi-fi Sweet are you coming yeah oh hi we’re making  our way first impression amazing yes very impressed thank you oh cute nice to meet you [Music] hello all right  hello okay so we’re staying at comma hotel we’ll  

Show you a little more later on but right now we  give you a quick room tour before um this is the   elite window actually um so backward and there  are um from from what we saw as well there are  

Complimentary things you can get from the desk  like razor and other bits and Bobs king siiz   bed it’s got two nightstands um we have a little  mini fridge uh comes with slippers there’s a hair   dryer bottled water and there’s also lots of other  goodies that come with this hotel show you after  

Our sockets look like they are are they American  well you can show them yep American yep there you   go it’s about 90 Canadian dollars a night for this  room but we’re really in the heart of everything  

So which we will also show you in our videos so if  you’re coming to taiw first of all you should we   haven’t even been here for a couple hours yet and  everyone nice like the lady down just everyone is  

Amazing okay so when we checked in the lady um at  the reception she gave us uh a free coupon each   oh that so when we checked in we were each given  um a coupon I guess there’s a bar on the second  

Floor and we have a coupon for free beer so we’re  going to go check that out check this out and then   I think um we’ll see what’s going on here and  then we’re going to go see if we can find a [Music] dessert nice hello hello  hi all right let’s see what this

Have first Apple onion I’ve got onion  all right definitely like doy but you   can get that kind of fish taste that’s really good I agree I think with the onion slightly better  it’s good with the apple as well I mean that’s   interesting because when we when we looked on the  menu it was the one thing that we picked out was  

What is bird pet Rose exactly that’s right  we were talking about it we thought it was   like kind of like a fish egg or something and  then here it is and complimentary compliments   with the house very nice amazing excellent  very good this mini baby octopus I think all  

Right baby you’re up D hatch faab very good  yeah little salty salty but nice with beer   this I’m not not going to like it very good so  baby baby that looks like bacon is that bacon   on there it might be because it tastes salty  [Music] bacon delicious and we try sip of beer  

Now I get what you mean yeah it’s definitely  like a pigs in a blanket yeah like the salty   and there a hint of fish hint but not it’s not  overpowering not chewy and the texture is good Chewy with the beer yeah it makes sense  that’s actually really decent does look   like bacon no it’s not though it’s bacon you  get kind of fatty essence of bacon and salty   and it almost tastes like like pork fat or  something or whatever yeah that’s fun that  

Yeah I actually think that’s pretty good  so you brought us this drink we uh like a   in like G with the lemon juice okay lemon  juice and I will try the one shot in the m and The Taste the salt mhm and The  Taste the demo okay and so what is  

The name again it’s a um it’s a a turt  okay yeah perfect it’s like a Tak like   a takila yeah but this for Taiwan okay so  it’s like a Tai Taiwanese tequila yeah ah   okay try I will try it thank you okay all right  Cheers Cheers thank yes thank you so much thank

Bye we are still in taipe um we are finally out  exploring after a little bit of a work morning   um and we’re going to head out and we’re going  to the Lang Shan po soup dumpling place’s going  

To follow the dot while I talk um and we were  recommended this location to have some amazing   dumplings by the owner one of the owners of  the bar that’s in our hotel so we’re going   to go check that out this supp to be a really  popular thing to eat here in Taiwan popular  

Taiwanese cuisine and uh yeah we’ll take you  guys along with us and then I think uh we’ll   just going to walk through the streets of taipe  we have a couple things on the list but I’m not  

Going to tell you yet we’ll get and you also  never know so sometimes we say we’re going to   do things and then other things happen so we’ll  see but it’s a really lovely day uh no it’s a  

Lovely day what I don’t know I don’t understand  really nice neighborhood though yeah it is for   sure so we’re currently in the zing zing thinging  something District I don’t know I’m not good with   the pronunciation of everything Jim ding I Jing  ding Jim ding so I think the x is like a sound

Mhm yeah I’m not really sure so this so This  walking District actually was built just after   the uh the I think it was just after the world  war it was built by the Japanese mhm um and then   obviously uh when the Japanese left Taiwan um  it just continued to develop and it’s actually  

Now really um an affluent area lots of like  uh clubs and bars and restaurants and it’s um   quite popular with the the younger people in  terms of the night scene so yeah well we’re   going to take you guys there later but there’s  actually at the specific Street wow I just missed  

The light which um which is interesting the  lights are really cute um whenever it’s time   for to walk they show the little green walk and  the guy is actually walking which is super cute   somewhere here and then um yeah I’ll find  that in a second so we’re going to take you  

Guys there later and it’s got a really cut  see got a really cutesy neighborhood maybe here look what is this look this is a restaurant downstairs lots of PL I I don’t I have it  on the map but I can’t find the exact one  

We wanted to go to okay so we’re at Mr Pink  it’s super cute like here they absolutely   love these little games these little not  games they’re like you know Co dispensers   I guess it’s like just basically a  random what one you get so it’s like

Well you choose your theme and then you know but  these are super popular here we got the change   machine and the claw machines are super popular  here too um definitely reminds me of Japan this  

Kind of thing um that was Japan was the first uh  Asian country we went to on our jood CU I remember   those from when I was when I was young I used to  be outside like every news agent or whatever yeah  

But uh maybe not so much nowadays okay so where  is this dumpling place I think it’s in here food   Panda sounds good uh I think it’s here I think  it’s this one yeah I think so we’re here might  

As well it’s actually kind of tricky because a lot  of the science haven’t got English translation so   it’s hard to know what the name of the restaurant  is okay so unfortunately it’s closed so that’s   okay there’s lots of other things to choose  from so which one though that’s the problem and  

Yeah like leam was saying it’s difficult because  they don’t a lot of them don’t have the English   translation many do many do of course but some of  the smaller ones don’t and it’s really difficult   if you don’t speak the language like that kind of  special place like you know you hear about these  

Places from the locals like you want to try them  but it’s really tricky but that was a shame that   was just by chance I mean maybe we could try it  tomorrow morning or something or all right oh well  

We tried okay so now where now what now I guess  we just find somewhere else I guess we wonder and see oh wait I want to try this yeah this is  very traditional here I’m trying this I saw  

This morning it like bread with onion and  eggs pretty sure going to try that give it   a try Okay so this here I can’t remember what  the name is but we are going to give that a  

Try and um here in taiw want tea culture oong  tea is super popular hello hi what what is in this this what is inside okay uh how much for one 30 30  okay thank you I’ll have one one yeah

And not my favorite but it’s not like it’s yeah  I mean I’m not sure I’d get that yeah but it is   it’s nice yeah it’s okay I mean I’m not sure I’d  B all of it again but I can see why like you said  

It’s refreshing um Corn’s good yeah all right  try the next thing all right let’s try this so H that’s nice m that’s good egg and like  I don’t know if it’s egg you think it’s   egg inside I don’t know I see the  onion it’s hard to tell inside if  

It’s cheese or egg or I love it this  is really good I like this one a lot M this guy that’s different yeah  there’s 7-Eleven over there   7-Eleven like everywhere what’s this here huh I yeah okay so we finished we got there’s like  literally shops and stores and restaurants and  

Food and Shakes and all you could imagine oh  there have some dumplings here so beef I know   beef noodle is supposed to be really popular  all sorts of different types of things here   M I don’t want visca no thank you what Vis  organs oh really yeah yeah so um yeah I know  

This popular thing I’m not such a fan though  of um organs personally but oh this is cute look having said that we is my friend m r  yesterday you can do that do anything well   no but I mean that’s fit look like fish eggs  right that wasn’t so bad I really liked that  

Yesterday actually okay well we’re still  on the hunt for something a little more   satisfying so we’re to come down here this  is The Pedestrian this is the market yeah   ah here’s the soy milk desserts too okay  so apparently these are really popular

Too so I think the way that you’re supposed  to do it is you buy these and then you dip it   into the sweet soy milk it’s supposed to be really  popular but we’re looking for something a little  

More hearty right now well do you want to walk  down this District or go to the area that we were   going to go to originally we’ll maybe go to where  we wanted to go we’re going to come back here  

Anyway yeah so we’re going to take you guys down  there later on in the video um we do want to go   and check something out um and I think it closes  at 6 so we’re going to make our way there first this smells delicious whatever  this is looks like a big moon

Cake M very nice okay oh so it’s very clean you  know the one thing I have to say um   is that the city is very very clean very  efficient and everyone is oh I don’t know  

If we’re going to make this run run run  run wait a minute oh okay oh look at the   7-Eleven babe look look this is a little hello  Kitt look oh wow 7even this is a Hello Kitty   7eleven we we really like 7-Eleven let’s  check this out oh look so sorry so cute

[Music] look wow it’s so cute this is  interesting look at this this is chili   flavored hardboiled eggs look babe this is  chili chili flavored hardboiled eggs and   they’re like on the counter they’re not  even refrigerated so interesting figure   out cu that was how they do a 50 look  we’ve got the different denominations

Here wow this building’s really nice very nice this Japanese restaurant very cool the one thing  that I wanted to mention that I’ve noticed here   um is that often people um in different countries  will refer to people in different ways like for  

Example in Canada many times people will  say ma’am um I noticed in Philippines as   well a lot of people will address me with ma  but what’s really interesting here in Taiwan   that I’ve noticed so far is that uh people tend  to say lady so they’ll be like and you lady what  

Can I get for you lady and um I think this is the  first country that i’ I’ve I’ve heard that in and   I think it’s kind of cute fun fact when I was a  kid I had a cat named lady oh you can’t even see  

I said to Le I’m like I’m like oh Let’s cross  the road we’ll have a better view of the bank   of Taiwan but um yeah the pillars are on that  that side so it’s very nice but the front the  

Front is better um it’s really cool they have  these big huge Crossways look at this look at   the size over here of the road I love the trees  how the trees are like flat tops all these trees  

Surrounding us there alone just like yeah very  well groomed almost like like a like a bon ey   or something you know yeah exactly yeah hello  hi yeah wow look at this look it’s got like   a massive massive massive massive massive  intersection it’s so big but I think it’s  

Like like in England um near Buckingham Palace  and stuff they have like massive because they   they Clos it off for like events so maybe I’m  just guessing but I would think that they will   close all of this off when they have big events  and they have like massive barriers in front so  

It’s definitely a very beautiful building very  important things going on there so did and you   can just make out the typ 101 Building over there  as well is awesome look cool bunai Garden maybe is cool we were just walking and talking and like  look there’s like barbed wire on the other  

Side of the Bush here I don’t know if you can  see and we were like imagine if you were like   a foreigner like us and you didn’t know where  you were you’re walking back at night you know  

And you want to like mess around or playing  around trying to hop the thing that would not   be pleasant yeah wow I’ve never seen that kind of  thing before wow look at the trees there that’s  

Proper Bonsai no that’s what it kind of looks  like to me yeah is that a bonsai tree guys I   don’t know a lot about you know trees but like I  feel like that’s kind of like a bu and look what’s  

Really cool they have all the Chinese uh year  symbols on the ground shoose what you want to   see lots of scooters here in Taiwan very popular  to have scooters and this Crossing system look   babe oh you just asked now look now people are  walking across on a diagonal okay we’ll do it we  

We were trying to figure out why huh so I guess  you can Walk This Way During certain hours like   cross As an X now it’s 68 it’s 4:20 and the time  in here says 4:10 to 4:30 so I don’t know what  

That means maybe it’s School times maybe scho yeah  the kids to cross yeah cuz this is the high school there one of the things I I never realized  or never I didn’t know is that uh taipe is  

So green and so Lush like there’s so many  different trees and bushes and I I just I   don’t know why I just thought like it’ be  more of a cityscape but there’s a lot of   green spaces and it’s really beautifully  done you know so and it’s very fresh like  

You it feels very clean there’s actually not  a lot of vehicles on the road it seems quite   kind of modest on that sense um definitely a  really really nice environment oh yeah there

So behind me here is uh jishu Park so we’re going  to go take a look I mean I I don’t have data I   only have Maps which is thank you Maps um so I  can only give you a little bit of information  

We’ll go check the sign uh but it looks beautiful  like all the I can’t get over how pretty this city is and like over there too look at the little Pras  they’re P I can’t remember what they’re called Cod  

Perola I don’t Pera I don’t know that’s so bad we  should know that by now after where we’ve been I   was just saying to Leon I find like a lot of the  times like you you go to these beautiful places  

And I know they need to light them up at night  and all that kind of stuff I know the reason why   it’s there but there’s so many times that we go  places and we want to like take photos there’s  

Always just like a eyesore like look like why do  you need the lamp there like I could go from this   angle over here to take a photo but if you want to  do like the widespread thing it’s like they could  

Have put the lab somewhere else you know so many  places the worst one was koala Lampur oh B at the   bat caves there’s like this big massive one I’m  like why of all the places yeah unbelievable yeah  

Oh well what can you do we’re trying to figure  out who this is specifically uh but I can’t see a plaque lots of rules you can’t gamble in this  park there’s a lot of No gambling signs so I’m  

Assuming that that’s the thing wow look  at that gate over there what is that so pretty the Liberty Square Arch over here Liberty   Square Arch absolutely stunning yeah  absolutely stunning spectacular look at that wow do you see that’s spectacular  yeah that is really spectacular

Wow [Music] oh that’s like buy how trippy is  this yeah look at this yeah like that I it’s   beautiful but this is it gets me very dizzy  like when you look down and when you walk I’m   just going to say that’s like a design flaw  um or unless it’s done intentionally I don’t  

Know we haven’t done our research so it could  represent something like that but it feels like   spatially things are shifting yeah it almost  feels like the ground’s moving yeah it’s weird people who gave their lives to uh found  a country the Republic of China in

1912 oh because so we’re here in taiwan’s uh  democracy Memorial Park and this is the Monument   of jun kek if I’m pronouncing that correctly  as you can see just there it’s a very famous   monument um it dates back nearly 50 years to 1975  and Jun kek he was the leader of the Nationalist  

Party he was also a military figurehead as well  um made some Great accomplishments and um what   basically happened was in the Chinese Civil War  um he fled back to Taiwan after being defeated   by the CCP the Communist Party in the mainland  um and established a national government here  

Um and is a very famous uh famous character here  in Taiwan so it’s really nice to be here and be   part of that history um and yeah another really  cool thing is the uh the the he the flags the  

The Sun the reason they’ve put the sun white  is they believe in the white sun which burns   brighter than the yellow sun you just said  or something we kind of me too I’m just I’m   just regurgitating information but yeah and then  you have this look at the like look at this it’s

Incredible so nice so just so you guys are aware um around  like right now it’s 511 um but I think it’s   just at Sunset they have uh the lowering  of the flag and they bring it down right  

Now they’re rolling it in I believe they’re  going to March it up to the top so if that’s   something that you’re interested in seeing you  can come here for Sunset and also it looks like   the sunset would be really really beautiful see  it here just a little overclass right now so if  

You want you could come to this area for that  and then head over to the night market after let wow look at these they’re so pretty [Music]  wow H I love that kind of stuff like a tea  

Set like that I would totally buy to bring home  if I wasn’t traveling full time so right now we   are walking through um this little area here  is called yuanling street yanling street I   don’t know if there’s a specific name for the  market but um yeah it’s really pretty Sun’s  

Just gone down everybody’s out strolling  I wanted to try some food but I’m dying of   thirst so I need to find somewhere that sells  drinks which we have not been successful in yet are you you guys don’t need to see  me byy under it maybe they wouldn’t  

Maybe they do but they’re not going  to okay so we’re at a little market here it’s not so much of a food market at  the front but it looks like it’s edging   towards food yeah it looks like a spice  kind of a little bit of everything look  

There beint over there yeah that’s cute  cornn oh this is a full-on proper Market   inside we are dying of thirst so I  need a drink then we can carry out look this cool hello hi cool cool yeah  I’m not sure I wonder whose feet they  

Are hi hello are you I’m going to  try please the black current Rose te or not this one here oh oh this means the what  I what you don’t have oh no which one do you like

Is fantastic sure the ice cream’s going  to be good and you can’t go around and M so I thought it’s effective I’m  sitting under the air it was very   hot outside but I’m sitting under the air  conditioning and this is like obviously very

A little surprise for us so $10 discount if  you can finish 10 minutes you can get size of it so this glass will hold six pints of beer  and we have 10 minutes to drink the entire  

Glass between the two of us and if we do it we  get basically $10 off our bill do you think we   can do it I can’t even chug water so I have  faith in you baby oh okay all right okay the  

Record by the way is four minutes four minutes 4  minutes are you going to drink that not me so we   failed we tapped out at 911 we actually tapped  out at 911 as well just bizarre but that’s how  

Much we have left a we got so close but it  was just too much too much unbelievable well   we might not hold the record for the most beer  drunk but I think we hold the record for most friends just say country country  you bonfire day is their celebration  

But that is my birthday yeah nor oh  sorry we don’t have a k and dry now but we’re going to show them what we got so we are on  our way to the airport we’ve just stopped here at  

The Family Mart because even though there’s a  big major area around it’s um it’s it’s oh wa   couldn’t find somewhere to eat so we’re going  to just sit here and eat and then we’re going  

To go to the airport lounge over there what’  you get B I got a grilled pork bendo Oh Mento   boxes yes and it was great I mean that that  literally all came to like 6 really oh that’s  

Cheap and then I have grapefruit Four Seasons  green tea I was looking for more of these but   I think someone might have last one then I got  a macaroni and cheese we’re feeling hung over   went had a late night very late night last  night with our friend early morning 400 a.m.

Okay so I have here what did I get the  spicy beef and noodles spicy brazed beef   with noodles and this looks like a warm uh  cabbage salad warm yeah warm cabbage salad   with sauce and then this is a mango fruit  Pudding we didn’t know this was coming  

What did you get uh mine’s like brazed pork  with rice and then I think we’ve got similar   and you have a bit of a soup yeah some  sort of soup and some rice oh I didn’t even ni we’re going to Korea we’re  going to Korea but first we have  

To get the shuttle bus here at the airport  but we’re going to Kore going to Korea bab   after an incredible 3 days we would highly  recommend that you come and visit Taipei   and Taiwan but for now we are off to South  Korea we hope to see you in the next one
