Hi. Welcome back to my channel. Today we are in Switzerland. The wonderful city of St. Moritz. St. Moritz is a luxury alpine resort town in Switzerland. It has hosted the Winter Olympics twice. Its frozen lake hosts polo, cricket and even horse racing on ice.
We are currently walking through the town centre, making way towards the frozen lake. The town is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, luxurious amenities, and world-class skiing. It’s a playground for the elite. Visitors can indulge in upscale shopping, fine dining, and accommodations
While enjoying breath-taking alpine scenery and a wide range of outdoor activities, from skiing and snowboarding to hiking and ice skating on the frozen lake. In the late 19th century, St. Moritz became one of the pioneers of winter tourism. St. Moritz’s reputation as a health resort grew throughout the 19th century,
Drawing tourists from across Europe. The establishment of hotels and facilities catering to visitors marked the town’s transformation into a popular destination. St. Moritz gained international recognition when it hosted the Winter Olympics in 1928 and again in 1948. These events further solidified its reputation as a premier winter sports destination.
We’re just passing the Badrutt’s Palace Hotel. In the mid-20th century, St. Moritz became a playground for the rich and famous. Celebrities, aristocrats, and business tycoons flocked to the town to indulge in its luxurious amenities, upscale shopping, and exclusive events. We’re now at the Terrasse Panoramique.
This is a balcony with a superb 360 view of the town. This frozen lake becomes a unique attraction and venue for various winter activities, including ice skating, ice hockey, and even horse racing during the annual White Turf event.
The frozen lake also serves as a picturesque backdrop for the town’s winter festivities and adds to the charm of St. Moritz as a winter wonderland destination.
