【高砂市】高砂市の奇跡、石の宝殿と竜山石ワークショップに挑戦!【ロカプラ兵庫】

This place is said to be the most powerful spiritual spot. I think I’m receiving power! Oh, this is quite difficult. A stone key chain. Hello and good evening, everyone. I’m the Local Prime Channel reporter. I’m Mai Miyawaki.

In our Local Prime Channel, we focus on items and people associated with Hyogo Prefecture and broadcast them so that everyone can experience the new charm of Hyogo Prefecture. Today, I’m at Ishi-no-hoden. This place is located in Takasago City.

I’ll walk around the Ishi-no-hoden and also show you what the Tatsuyama stone workshop looks like. Let’s get going! I’m going up this road. Oh, good morning. I’m Mai Miyawaki, and I’m the Local Prime Channel reporter. Nice to meet you. To know a little bit about Ishi-no-hoden,

We have the Ukiishi Museum, so let’s go there first. Oh, 2025 Osaka/Kansai Expo! Yes, this place is designated as the field pavilion of the Expo. Wow, that’s amazing! Ukiishi museum Oh, so the entrance fee is free.

[The Ukiishi Museum at Oushiko Shrine was inaugurated in 2020. You can learn about the floating stone of Ishi-no-hoden, one of the three wonders, by watching videos and reading panels here. There is no entrance fee; it is only open on weekends and holidays.] I’m sure you haven’t heard about the Japanese Three Wonders.

One of them is “Yonku-no-shinkama” which is located in Shiogama City in Miyagi Prefecture. And we have another one called “Ama-no-sakahoko” which is located in Takahara Town in Miyazaki Prefecture. And as you can see, there is a spear on top of the mountain.

Among them is the Ishi-no-hoden, which is housed here at the Oushiko Shrine. The rock has been chiseled out, and it appears to be floating. This is why it’s called Ukiishi (floating stone). These three things are considered the three Japanese mysteries. And they are referred to as the Three Japanese Wonder.

And one of them is here in this Ishi-no-hoden. So, as the shrine, they enshrined this floating stone. I heard that the Ishi-no-hoden is a spiritual spot. That’s right. I’m sure you’ve heard of the Izumo Grand Shrine. Yes, it’s a famous place. Yes, it is a popular matchmaking place in Shimane Prefecture.

In Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture, there is something called “Masuda Shimafune.” It’s a stone that looks like a ship. Ishi-no-hoden is right in the middle of those two places. We believe that the power of God is gathered here. That’s why this place is considered a spiritual spot.

If you look and touch it, you’ll be able to receive a lot of power. These are Hoden pottery pieces manufactured by locals. We have objects and gemstones created using Tatsuyama stones. So, you sell products. Yes. We have coasters and earrings.

No surprise, this is a stone palace. You sell a lot of beautiful stone-made souvenirs. So, these coasters are made from Tatsuyama stone. This is interesting. Wow, these Hoden-pottery dragon ornaments were created because 2024 is the Year of the Dragon. It costs 1100 yen. Let’s go to Ishi-no-hoden.

You can enjoy a spectacular view from here. You can enjoy the entire view of Takasago City. Great view Ishi-no-hoden (floating stone) It does look like it’s floating, right? Yes, it does. So, did the ancient people create this? Well, to be precise, this whole area used to be a mountain of rocks.

They carved this out. We don’t know if they cut it out and then opted to leave it here rather than move it to another location, or they carved it out with the intention to leave it here. We believe they created it as a symbol or spiritual thing.

But we believe it’s astounding that they cut it out and completed it so well, given their abilities at the time. Do you know what this weighs? What? The weight? 10 tons? No, not 10 tons. Then, is it lighter? I’d say it weighs about 500 tons. 500 tons? You can walk around it.

With this monument, this place is said to be the most powerful spiritual spot. Some people experience tingling sensations, while others report feeling heat. This is absorbing my heat right now. I think I’m receiving power! So, back then, they did have the skills to carve out the stone so nicely.

It’s surprising, isn’t it? We heard that this has been like this for more than 1400 years. It never collapsed and stayed the same. Does it have any reinforcement? Not at all. And it has remained like this until now. Reigan (spiritual rock) Oh, there is an explanation. “This rock is part of Ishi-no-hoden.”

“Push it with all your might.” “Then, with your hands, touch the area that is bothering you.” I’d like to push it with all my strength. Here I go! I hope I’ll become more intelligent. I think I’m a bit smarter now. I think I’m smarter now!

Wow, so there is a place where we can walk up. Oh my god! What a nice view! You can see all of Takasago City. You can see Ishi-no-hoden from above. That is an impressive rocky mountain. We quarry on that mountain. What a great view.

You can enjoy the gelato from the famous store in Takasago City called “Yellow.” I’d like to try this gelato using the blueberries harvested in Takasago City. They ground pesticide-free blueberries harvested in Amida Town, Takasago City. And they mixed them with yogurt from the Tanba area. So, all the ingredients are from Hyogo Prefecture.

This is Hyogo Pioneer ice cream. Let’s eat. Oh, this has a rich taste and is very tasty. I adore the texture of blueberry grains. The texture is quite good. The refreshing sweetness and the acidity of yogurt complement each other nicely, and it tastes nice! This is quite addictive. Matsushita Stone Store’s quarry

[A business that has been open for 151 years, beginning in 1872, and specializes in Tatsuyama stone. The quarry, which opened over 1700 years ago, is still in operation and is presently used for music events, too.] Hello. Nice to meet you. I have to say first that this place is amazing.

You see rocks everywhere! So, this quarry is still being used. When did you start to use this place? We have been in business since 1872 under the name Matsushita Stone Store. So, this year marks the 151st anniversary. Wow, that’s incredible. Thank you. May I ask what the characteristics of the Tatsuyama stone are?

The first thing you’ll notice is the color. We call these rocks that look white “blue.” And in the back, you can see brownish stones. We refer to them as “yellow.” And we have the red ones, too. This is the “red” Tatsuyama stone. Nowadays, these red stones are no longer available.

Regarding the changing of color, when heat is applied to the blue-colored stone, it turns yellow. And when more heat is applied to the yellow stone, it turns red. It’s what you call oxidation. If you look around, you can see a lot of yellow and blue stones. But you don’t see many red stones.

You are right. So, they are rare. Well, I just happened to find this here. I’m glad that you were able to see the red stone. So, this red one is rare. Every color is beautiful. Yes, these are the stones’ natural colors.

I’m sure you don’t usually find stones with these colors here in Japan. So, where are these stones used? They were utilized for coffins as early as the Tumulus period. They were used for that purpose around 1700 years ago. And then, they were used for different things. For example, for buildings.

And Himeji Castle’s stone walls use these stones as well. I heard that I get to participate in a workshop here. Yes, I want you to create something. We want you to make a key chain using the Tatsuyama stone. I want you to find a stone that catches your attention. Here?

Yes. Since it is for a key chain, it shouldn’t be too big. Maybe this size. You can choose between a blue and a yellow one, depending on your preferences. We can also do some processing later. So, if there is any stone that catches your attention,

You can pick it up and go back to the workplace. I am going to choose my destiny stone among these. I found it. This is a rare red stone. Blue, yellow…hmm… But I think I’ll go for this stone that I found first. Then, let’s make a key chain with this stone.

Let’s go to the factory. During the summer, Takasago City’s board of education hosts an event. It’s a parent-child event for elementary school kids who live in the city. They get to crack the stones and make something with the Tatsuyama stone. And they get to take home what they created.

Wow, so you also host that type of event. In one of the workshops, you can create a key chain. Parents who watch the local prime channel, we hope you will come down here! I see cosplayers shooting pictures. I see cosplayers shooting pictures. There is a management company that advertises this location.

And many serious cosplayers from all over Japan visit this place. They host a wide range of events for people of all ages. If you want to change the shape, You can hit it with the hammer to change it little by little. Regarding the edges, you use this stone to grind them.

When you’re finished, select your favorite colored leather strap. That’s how you make it. During the workshop, you put on the gloves and protective glasses for safety. Oh, this is pretty hard. It’s kind of hard to hit the place where you want to hit.

How did you come up with the idea for this workshop? We wanted many people to know about the Tatsuyama stone. And we wanted people to learn more about it by feeling it with their hands. That’s how we came up with this workshop.

And this workshop enables kids of the next generation to know about Matsushita Stone Store. Yes, we want the future generation to know about this. Currently, there are only three corporations involved with Tatsuyama Stone, including us. There were more before. And among them, we are the only business with a successor.

So, we hope that many people learn about this location and that someone steps forward to take over the job. With that in mind, we organize workshops like these. Smoothing the edges If that’s hard for you, you can hold the stone and grind it on this. Oh, you are right.

When you grow up, you don’t have many opportunities to do things like this in your regular life. This is fun! Currently, we make items, accessories, and stuff. What kind of accessories do you make? Necklaces, earrings… Bracelets like these… Oh, did you make that bracelet? This is made from Tatsuyama stones. Wow.

We make something that you can put on. We create goods that women and children can touch and wear. We design and create a variety of goods. The colors are cute. Yes. It’s nice that you have red, blue, and yellow stones. You use nametags in elementary school, right?

It would be great if you could make a nametag out of stone that will last for six years. That may be a good idea. I’ll pitch that idea to Takasago City. It will be something that lasts forever. A nametag that you can use for six years. It’s sustainable. You can reduce waste.

Oh, that’s nice. It’s a sustainable approach. It meets the necessities of our world. And I’m sure no elementary school students use stone nametags. So, if this happens, Takasago City will be the first. Yeah, you are right. What do you say? It’s very nice and smooth. As you can see, it became so smooth!

Now, this leather part gets attached to the stone. Leather part You’ll attach it to the stone like this. You can choose your favorite color. Then, this one. Can you slip the leather between these little rings? Slip the leather piece between these small rings… I did it. Then you bond it with glue.

Can I apply pressure to it? We will use the tape to fix it until it dries. It’s not dried yet. Here is a one-of-a-kind item using the Tatsuyama stone. I made a stone key chain. This is pretty! If you are interested in this workshop, please sign up at the Matsuzaka Stone Store beforehand.

We hope you will visit Ishi-no-hoden and attend the Tatsuyama stone workshop. You can sign up in the description part. I’m Ai Miyawaki. Today, I shared my experience visiting Ishi-no-hoden, where you can see a floating gemstone from 1700 years ago, as well as participating in a workshop with the Tatsuyama stone.

See you next time! Bye!
