Welcome to a seaplane flight of JOALI, a luxury resort in the Maldives. We also introduce regular seaplane flight. Please enjoy. At 9:35 am, the resort staff pick us up at the hotel near the male airport. This is a private car for the luxury resort JOALI.

Pocket Wi-Fi is available and the inside of the car is comfortable. Depart from the hotel. Various cables are also available in the car. This is a video of the resort JOALI we are going to. Seaplane check-in at 9:45 am. The resort staff handled the procedure on my behalf.

Next, we are going to the seaplane terminal. The seaplane terminal is located a 5-minute drive from Male Airport in the Maldives. This is the entrance of the seaplane terminal. The seaplane terminal was renovated in the summer of 2022 and is very beautiful.

On the left is the reception of the seaplane company Trans Maldivian Airways. The seaplane terminal has four floors and has an elevator. Moved to the 4th floor. Luxury resorts have their own lounges. This is a lounge at another resort. This is the JOALI lounge. JOALI has two resorts: “JOALI Maldives” and “JOALI Being”.

Let’s go inside. It’s a beautiful lounge. We will wait here until the seaplane departs. This is a family room. The interior has a lot of blue color and gives us the feel of a resort in the Maldives. This is the bar counter. Luxury teas from London called NEWBY. There’s chess.

The cups and bottles on the shelf are beautiful. It’s flavored water. Take a seat here. Take a look at the lounge menu. Everything is free. Water, soft drinks and cocktails. Bakery, cereals. Snacks, soup, salads, mains. Desserts, ice creams and sorbets. Tea and coffee. Peach & raspberry tea. Wet towel.

Tissues, flowers, and alcohol disinfectant. There is a terrace. We can watch seaplanes from the terrace. Let’s take a look at seaplanes. Standard seaplane of Trans Maldivian Airways (tma). Private seaplane for other luxury resort. We can see many seaplanes, and the scenery is spectacular.

Most of them are standard seaplanes from Trans Maldivian Airways, and there are a few seaplanes that are exclusive to luxury resorts. Seaplane operation hours are from sunrise to sunset, and night flights are prohibited. Seaplane operations are subject to weather conditions and are subject to frequent delays.

Seaplanes are loud. In this video, the volume is turned down quite a bit. Art by John Paul Phillipe. The seaplane is starting to move. I ordered coconut cake and watermelon juice. The toilets are also clean. The toilet faucet has a unique shape. It’s time for departure and we move to the gate.

Seaplanes are basically shared with resort guests. Depending on the resort, we can also rent a private seaplane for a high price. Check our baggage before boarding the seaplane. As the seaplane approaches, I get excited. Walk along the pier. This is a seaplane exclusively for JOALI. Flowers are painted on the tail.

JOALI is written on the front of the seaplane. Finally boarding. The JOALI seaplane seat layout is 1-1, but normally it is 1-2. The seat design has a more luxurious feel than usual. I also appreciate that water is distributed. There are 8 seats in total. Usually there are 15 to 18 seats.

Equipped with reading lights and air conditioning. No footrest. Seats can be reclined. Wet towels are distributed. Passengers’ luggage is loaded in the back. There are no toilets. There will be instructions on non-smoking etc. We can see the cockpit. Sickness bag. Safety instructions. It describes emergency response and life jackets.

It’s almost time to depart. This is a flight from Male to JOALI in Raa Atoll in the north-northwest. We will depart at 10:30am and arrive at the resort at 11:14am. It’s a 44 minute flight. The seaplane started moving. Seaplane staff is riding in the back.

I’m sitting in the back seat. I think the best seats are at the front near the cup pit. Earplugs are provided, which is helpful. Although the volume is turned down in the video, the sound of the seaplane is quite loud. The sound of the seaplane is so loud even with earplugs in.

Finally, we takeoff. There isn’t that much shaking. The weather is nice on this day, and we can see beautiful scenery. This is the airport runway. There are many boats running. Male airport can be seen on the left. To the right of the bridge is the city of Male, the capital of the Maldives.

A light blue lagoon came into view. The resort is already in sight. Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa. The flight will be within North Male Atoll for a while. The Maldives has approximately 1200 islands and 26 atolls. The total area of all the islands is approximately 298 square kilometers.

The name Maldives means “garland of islands” in Sanskrit. This is an analogy of the islands forming a group of 26 atolls, connected in a ring. It is said that the people who roamed the Indian Ocean in ancient times called these islands the “String of Pearls.” Baros Maldives is a popular honeymoon resort.

We can see small resorts. There is an uninhabited island on the left and a resort on the right. It’s a resort called Huvafen Fushi. Island on the left, resort on the right. It’s a resort called Coco Bodu Hithi. On the left is a resort called VARU by Atmosphere.

An ultra-luxury resort called One&Only Reethi Rah. The island is large. There are many wonderful luxury resorts in the Maldives. Passing North Male Atoll, we will be left with a view of only the ocean for a while. Other seaplane is flying. We entered Baa Atoll. The resort is now in sight.

There are a series of islands around here. It’s an ultra-luxury resort called Soneva Fushi. The exterior of the resort is not that impressive. The beautiful scenery continues. It’s a resort called Thundi Village & Spa Maldives. It feels like a deserted island. Although it is a large ship, it looks small from the sky.

A resort called Dusit Thani Maldives. This is a Thai hotel brand. Overwater villas. It is a luxury resort called Anantara Kihavah. It is famous for its underwater restaurant. A beautiful arrangement of water villas. It’s a beautiful lagoon. A resort called “The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives”. From here we enter Raa Atoll.

JOALI is approaching and the seaplane’s altitude is decreasing. A resort called Adaaran Select Meedhupparu. A resort called Kudafushi Resort & Spa. JOALI BEING. It is an affiliated resort of JOALI Maldives. These are JOALI Maldives water villas. Landing. The shaking during landing is not that great. It’s much better than an airplane.

After landing, proceed to the resort’s arrival jetty. Resort staff will be waiting for our arrival at the jetty. Proceed slowly to the jetty. Finally arrived. As planned, we arrived at 11:14. After arriving, move to the room. JOALI’s water villa was spacious and beautiful.

This is the scene of my return after my stay at JOALI. It’s a beautiful resort. JOALI’s seaplane is stationary. JOALI’s seaplane makes one or two round trips a day, so some people may not be able to ride depending on the time of day.

This is a landing scene of a Trans Maldivian Airways seaplane. A seaplane is landing on water while tilting. We are slowly making our way to the jetty. Seaplanes visit the resort at irregular intervals to accommodate guests. This is a scene where a seaplane moves. After this, the seaplane went somewhere.

We will move from JOALI to Male Airport. I thought it was a JOALI seaplane on the way back, but it wasn’t. An hour later than scheduled, a Trans Maldivian Airways seaplane appeared. We will also show you Trans Maldivian Airways seaplane flights. After the seaplane stopped, maintenance is being carried out.

The seaplane is shaking. This is the leg (float) part of a seaplane. On the way back, we shared a ride with people from other resorts. The same goes for loading luggage in the back. There are no toilets either. The sheet layout is 1-2.

The seat layout on the JOALI seaplane was 1-1, so I was lucky. The same goes for having an sickness bag. This is a safety instructions. On the way back, this is the seat closest to the cockpit. We can clearly see the cockpit.

If you’re seated closest to the cockpit, you’ll get a nice view from the window. Takeoff. It just passes over the resort. On the way back, we will look at the view from the window in the same way. There were some clouds on the way.

We can see an inhabited island. Of the approximately 1,200 islands, 200 are inhabited, and the majority of them are resort islands. This is also an inhabited island. It’s a beautiful lagoon. Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru is an ultra-luxury resort. The island is large.

It is a luxury resort called Milaidhoo Maldives. It has a good reputation and I would like to go there someday. Raa and Baa Atolls are home to many wonderful resorts. It’s a resort called Amilla Maldives. The weather was unstable on the way back, but we saw a rainbow. It’s a magazine.

History of Trans Maldivian Airways seaplanes. The design of the seaplane has changed. The Maldives has grown in popularity as a tourist destination over the past 30 years. History of the atolls of the Maldives. There are currently 26 atolls in the Maldives. This is the resort I saw when I went there.

List of atolls and resorts. JOALI is located in Raa Atoll. Transfer from Raa Atoll to North Male Atoll. A 40 minute flight takes us to North Male Atoll. It’s almost time to land. View from the cockpit. Cockpit. We can see the city of Male and the airport. The altitude has dropped considerably.

The sea is beautiful. At the moment of landing, the shaking was not as great as when heading out. Seaplanes don’t have toilets, so if you get an upset stomach during the flight, you’ll be in trouble. If you’re taking a seaplane, it’s best to choose a resort within 40 minutes.

Some resorts take more than 60 minutes by seaplane, so it feels like it takes a long time. It is a good idea to bring earplugs with you when boarding a seaplane. Earplugs were distributed on the way there, but not on the way back. The seaplane moves slowly to the gate.

The building we can see in the background is the seaplane terminal. Finally arrived. The propeller is fixed. Get off the seaplane. I didn’t feel particularly unwell. After this, we will move on to the next resort. If you stay at two resorts, they will coordinate your time between the resorts.

Transfer by car from the seaplane terminal to the airport. Water is provided on board. We can see the airport and planes from the right window of the car. There are many boats staying there. Meet up with staff from the next resort at the airport. Next we will move by boat.

At the airport, we met up with the next resort staff and moved to the boat pier. It’s a small boat. Boats have the advantage of being less affected by the weather and being cheaper than seaplanes.

But from a boat, you won’t be able to see the stunning views of the Maldives that you can see from the seaplane window. On this trip to the Maldives, I was able to ride both a seaplane and a boat, which was a good balance. Overwater villas at the next resorts.

Welcome pavilion at the next resort. This is a resort that opened in November 2023, so we are staying at a resort where the actual situation is still unknown. Thank you for your viewing.

I took two seaplane rides in the Maldives. On the way there, I take a JOALI seaplane from the seaplane terminal to the luxury resort JOALI, and on the way back I take a Trans maldivian airways seaplane.
