놓치면 7개월을 기다려야 하는 유네스코에서 인정한 국내 유일의 트레킹 코스! | 걷기 쉬운 당일치기 국내여행 | 대중교통 | Korean BEST Trekking
Today , I am going on a trip to enjoy a very special trekking where I can walk directly on the dizzying ice cliff road and the river flowing down from North Korea. I arrived at the Dong Seoul Terminal early in the morning to go to today’s destination.
The bus I will board this time is at the end. You can get on board number 30. It’s 7:30. Let’s board the intercity bus. Only now, the seat arrangement on the intercity bus is the same as the regular red metropolitan bus. Then, let’s take off. Hello. We arrived
At this place after driving for about 1 hour and 20 minutes from the Dong Seoul Terminal. This is the Shincheolwon Intercity Bus Terminal. In order to go to the trekking course we will walk today, you have to take a taxi here.
Since I didn’t eat breakfast before, I went to a bean sprout soup restaurant near the terminal and had breakfast. Filming was prohibited inside, so I couldn’t capture it on video, but I ate the bean sprout soup I’ve had so far.
It was the most delicious restaurant among the restaurants, so I would like to recommend it to others. After eating breakfast , I took a taxi from the taxi stand in front of the terminal.
Please go to the ticket booth. After paying the taxi fare of 5,200 won at Shincheolwon Terminal, I arrived at this place on the Cheorwon Hantangang Jusangjeon-ri Road. This is the ticket office. The admission fee is 10,000 won for adults, and 5,000 won of this
Will be returned as a Wonsarang gift certificate. You should keep it and use it when eating. Then, let’s start trekking right away. After going down the stairs a little, there was an observatory. My ears were taken by the majestic Hantangang River. I’m already so excited to be able to walk over 3km.
Then, let’s keep walking along the road. On the day of the video shoot, the temperature rose above freezing, so the Hantangang River is not all frozen over. Still, the ice walls of various sizes hidden here and there are truly impressive. This Hantangang River is a river that flows through Pyeonggang-gun, North Korea,
Passes through Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do, and Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do, and joins the Imjin River. When the Hantangang River flows, most of it is made up of volcanic terrain, so it is characterized by piano-like columnar joints placed here and there on the cliffs. It is really hard to see this even in Jeju Island.
It feels really outrageous to be able to enjoy such majestic columnar joints throughout the trek by paying just 5,000 won . Another special feature of the Hantangang River path is that there is a railroad bridge in the middle of it.
Moreover, the floor is so open that you can enjoy the unique experience of trekking. You can enjoy it. There is also an observatory in front. Let ‘s take a look. I can’t help but wonder that there is such a magnificent canyon in our country. The sky bridge hanging dizzyingly on the wall
Is also very spectacular. Then, after looking around, let’s continue walking along the road. It is probably because of Cheorwon, Gangwon-do, because of the icicles. The size is also extraordinary. I can’t remember how long it’s been since I’ve seen such a huge icicle. It
Was amazing to see it after such a long time. In fact, the whole path while walking was like this huge columnar jointed canyon. The weather was cold, but it was nice to be able to see this beautiful ice wall. Following this, we came to the second Sky Observatory.
There was thin ice on the floor, so the floor was more slippery than I thought, but as I walked carefully and looked around, it became easier. As I walked, it gave me a strange feeling as if I was walking on the edge of an alien planet floating in space. After the sheer Columnar Cliffs, a rocky mountain with various shapes appeared . The harmony of the half-frozen Hantangang River and the huge quay wall is so beautiful. The advantage of the Hantangang River Jusangjeonri Trail is that there are many restrooms along the course.
Thanks to this, I was able to enjoy the trek very comfortably. So let’s put aside our worries and enjoy the trek again. As we followed the iron deck road, another spectacular view began to unfold before our eyes.
A canyon so steep that it made you think of the Korean version of Zhangjiajie. The appearance is truly dazzling. In fact, the temperature rose above freezing in the afternoon, so I was worried that a lot of the ice would melt, but it was actually nice to be able to enjoy the abundant flow.
The place I am walking right now is the Sundam Valley Sky Observatory, the last observatory on Jusangjeonri Road. Now here is the place. If you go a little further forward, you will see the second highlight of the Cheorwon Hantangang River trekking course.
It is the road floating in the water in front of you. Let’s go there quickly. When you follow the road and come out of the trekking course, you will see the Hantangang Columnar Joint Road Sundam Valley ticket office. It is the first place at the beginning of the video. You can
See the Sundam Valley ticket office at the end of the Deureni ticket office, which is the Jusangjeon-ri road you entered. Please note that on weekends, shuttle buses run to all major points, so if you feel uncomfortable walking all the way, we recommend using the shuttle bus.
It’s only about 5 minutes from here. If you go down, you will see a trekking course where you can walk on the water that you just saw. Let’s take a look. We arrived here after trekking the Hantangang River
Columnar Joints Trail. This is the Hantangang River in Cheorwon. The cliff road we walked just a moment ago is the Hantangang River Columnar Joint Road, and
The course on the water we will walk from now on is the Hantangang River. It is a road. The waterway is a total course of 8.5km, of which 3.3km is a water course where you walk on water. The admission fee
Is 10,000 won for adults. However, if you present the ticket for the Hantangang Jusangjeonri Road that you just walked, you can purchase a ticket for our road for 5,000 won. Here, you will receive a gift certificate of 2 won. If you buy a ticket, they will fill your bracelet like this.
With this bracelet, you can visit the attractions in the middle of Mugil and enter for free when you return to the waterway. Now, let’s start trekking in earnest. Let’s take a look. Huge strange rock formations that already catch my eye from the beginning of Hos welcome me. Here ,
You can enjoy trekking with the feeling of floating on water because the waterway is literally walking on water . Walking on half-frozen ice. The feeling is also really new. Please note that this Mu-gil trekking runs from October to March every year. I
Was disappointed that the ice had melted more than expected, but seeing the Hantangang River flowing so abundantly made me think that it was actually good. So, Mu-gil. Let’s walk slowly while appreciating the surrounding scenery. There were a lot of strangely shaped icicles along the way.
There were icicles in shapes I’d never seen before. A lot of the ice had melted, but it still seems like it’s iron season in Cheorwon. It’s really interesting. It’s fun to have the ice around. As we walked along the road, we arrived at the first attraction on our route, Goseokjeong. Let’s
Take a look. Goseokjeong refers to a large granite towering high in the middle of the Hantangang River and a pavilion surrounding it. The view from here is also a work of art. After seeing the attractions, when you go back to the group, you
Just have to show the admission ticket in your arm. Then, let’s keep walking. Behind our road, a huge bridge pier is starting to come into view even from a distance. Let ‘s get closer. When we get closer, we see that there are three bridges instead of two. It was placed there and its
Size is truly enormous. Here are the second attractions of the waterway, Hantan Bridge and Seungil Bridge. There is a concrete bridge in front and the orange bridge right behind it is Hantan Bridge, and the bridge in the back is Seungil Bridge. Seungil Bridge 1948 Construction of the bridge began in
1925, but was temporarily halted due to the Korean War, and was completed only by Naman in 1958. Here, the bridge is made of densely packed bridge. This place was built by North Korea, and the wide area was built by me alone. It is said to be a
Historical place that truly embodies the pain of division. Behind Seungil Bridge, there is a breathtaking view hidden just by looking at it. It is an enormous building. There is an ice wall. At first , I wondered how an ice wall could be created on such a ridiculous
Scale, but it turned out that it was an artificial ice wall made by spraying water. It is artificial, but I think the beauty of the ice wall on such a huge scale is truly amazing. If you go deeper beyond the artificial ice wall, you will find
The site of the 2024 Hantangang Ice Tracking Festival, which was held from January 13th to 21st . Unfortunately, the event was over, so we could only see the remaining snow sculptures. However, there is still a pine tree ice tunnel in the back, so I visited this place. I looked around and
It was really amazing how they made such beautiful icicles on pine trees . Now that I’m done looking, I’m going to enjoy the trek again in the water. As I continued walking along the road, this time a huge
Sky bridge appeared on the other side. I couldn’t just pass by. There’s no way, so let ‘s go up there. Since there is Hantangang River, this is the third attraction, Eunhasu Bridge. Seungil Bridge Unlike what you may know, it was a bridge built relatively recently,
So its height was enormous. It was so open that the dizzying feeling did not go away the whole time I was walking. Still, from this high place. The view of the waterway overlooking it is truly admirable. If you cross the Eunha Water Bridge and keep going forward
, you will find a road that will lead you back to Mu-geul. Let’s take a look. We have arrived at Muri-gil again. Let’s keep walking. As we follow the road, another bridge appears. The bridge is Taebong Bridge. Behind the bridge, the last attraction of this Hantangang River trekking is hidden. Let’s
Take a look. The last attraction of the waterway is Jiktang Waterfall. Jiktang Waterfall is a vertical waterfall about 80m long, wide, and 4m high, and it is like this in Korea as well. It was so interesting to see that there was a vertical waterfall with a wide horizontal area.
The waterfall looked so amazing that it made you think it was an artificially created waterfall . Now, after finishing the Mugil trek, let’s turn around and go up to the top of Taebong Bridge.
This is the Taebong Bridge ticket office and the Hantangang River. It is also the ticket office at the end of Murigi. If you take the shuttle bus from here, you can go to the ticket office at Jusangjeon-ri, Hantangang River, where the trekking started
At the beginning of the video . Although it is crowded on the weekend, you can use the shuttle bus for free, so the taxi fare is reduced. It has the advantage of being very cheap. After driving for about 15 minutes, I arrived at the ticket office. I
Had lunch with the 7,000 won Cheorwon Love gift certificate that I received when purchasing the admission ticket here. I briefly thought that the admission ticket was expensive, but I kept the gift certificate like this. I was able to travel very cheaply because I could use it.
After eating a sim , I called a call taxi at the taxi stop next to the parking lot and went back to the Shincheolwon terminal. If there are no taxis waiting, you can call the Shincheolwon taxi department that appears on the screen and call a taxi
. Taxi fare is 6,200 including hall fee. After paying the won, I arrived at the Shincheorwon terminal. Please note that city bus tickets going down to Seoul cannot be reserved online and can only be issued on-site. I
Took the bus at 16:50, the same as the intercity bus I took in the morning. This walking trip to Cheorwon. I hope the video will be of great help to those who are planning a trip to Cheorwon. It has been a walking journey so far. Thank you for watching.
