【高砂】高砂の魅力を発見! 街並み散策&素敵な体験【ロカプラ兵庫】
How pretty. I pasted it. A handmade night watch completed Zenzai 900 yen Hello and good evening. We are the Local Prime Channel reporters. I’m Kanna Yagi. I’m Fuka Kayano.
In our Local Prime Channel, we focus on items and people associated with Hyogo Prefecture and broadcast them so that everyone can experience the new charm of Hyogo Prefecture. We are in Takasago City, Hyogo Prefecture. We’d like to show you around Takasago City, also known as the match-making city.
They have a spiritual spot for match-making. They also mentioned that they were taking us to an old house stylish café. We cannot wait. Well… Let’s get going. Hello. Thank you for your time. My name is Nishikawa, and I’m from the City Promotion Department. We heard that we get to stroll around Takasago City.
Thank you for your guide. Then, let’s get going! Musubin Tourist information spot [This spot is in an old house that faces Kuraku Matsuemon’s old residence. They sell Takasago-related items such as porches made from Matsuemon canvas, coasters made of Tatsuyama stone, Bokkurin goods, yellow gelato, and Ho-den-yaki pottery.] Wow, these are classic items!
They sell several things featuring Bokkurin, Takasago City’s mascot! Isn’t this an old safe? You have to spin the dial. The one you see on TV. There are also attractive pottery pieces. They are going to show us around the Takasago Shrine. Takasago City is said to be a matchmaking hotspot.
So, how come Takasago City is regarded as a lucky location? First and foremost, did you know that the table where the newlyweds sit during the wedding ceremony is called “Takasago”? No, I’ve never heard of it. It’s called Takasago.
Takasago was also the name of the song that was sung at weddings as a sign of good fortune. It came from Takasago City. The Takasago Shrine served as a setting for a legend. So, this place is considered as a really celebratory place.
I heard that there are a lot of spiritual places related to match-making. I heard that there is a spiritual spot for lovers inside. There is a heart-shaped area designated for couples that we recommend. Then, can you take us there, please? In Takasago Shrine, there is a Noh Stage.
There is an image of a pine tree drawn there, which is the motif. In the pine tree, there are three hearts hidden. If you can find all three, something nice will happen to you. Oh, I found one! Really? That was fast. Oh, I found one. The girls are finding one after another. Correct!
Yes! I’m going to be happy! The reason why this place is known for match-making is that, there were gods called “Jyo” and “Uba” in this shrine. They were born from the pine tree. They were both elderly. They became spirits and dwelt in this “Aioi” Pine Tree.
Two different varieties of pine trees sprout from the same stem. Aioi Pine Tree The black pine tree and the red pine tree stem from one tree. The texture of the tree is slightly different. Please touch this area with your palm. Let’s see… Is it stingy? It’s hard. Now, please touch this part.
Oh, this one is soft. They are different types. Male pine tree and female pine tree This is a fifth-generation Aioi pine. This is another heart-related spot. I was curious about this. Wow, that is a heart. You can take pictures here. You can pop your head out of this and take pictures.
It’s a good-fortune site, so I hope you will take pictures here. How cute. You can come here and photoshop your picture. Oh, you look nice! Hey, how come you are exiting so fast? This is called Inome-mado (window). The reason it’s called that is because boars have these eyes.
It has long been regarded as a good-luck shape. It was utilized as a design for removing evil spirits. I had no idea that boars had such lovely eyes. The persons depicted on the building are Jyo and Uba, as previously described. As you can see, they are holding Ganjiki and a broom.
Broom is for eliminating evil spirits and bad stuff. Ganjiki is for gathering good luck There is a long-standing custom in this area of bringing wood-carved statues of Jyo and Uba to the family with whom you are marrying. I’ve seen them at my mother’s house as well. Praying What a great sound!
Nice old buildings Kuraku Matsuemon’s house [Here you can find information about the first Kuraku Matsuemon, who is credited with inventing canvas. This location is designated as a Japanese Heritage Site as part of Kitamae-bune (ship) port’s history.] We have a nightlight-making workshop. The reason we make nightlights is that,
This place, Kuraku Matsuemon’s house is designated as a Japanese Heritage Site. It’s for four reasons. First of all, this area has Kuraku Matsuemon’s house. And this town is organized in a grid pattern. It is also recognized as a historical townscape area.
And I am sure there was a stair-like thing when you came in here. It’s named “Horikawa Ruin,” and it’s a sign that waves used to reach there. We also have the Takasago Shrine. This used to be a harbor town, and numerous ships passed through. There used to be a nightlight on the dock.
Currently, it’s moved to the Takasago Shrine. We’ve seen it earlier. So, we have the nightlight. For those four reasons, this place is designated as a Japanese heritage site. You can do anything to decorate this. And we will be using Matsuemon Canvas for this. Kuraku Matsuemon invented the Matsuemon Canvas, which we have modernized.
People use it to produce and sell bags. So, you’ll be using this fabric. And we have this Tatsuyama stone. Tatsuyama stones are known as the gemstones of Takasago City. They have been utilized since ancient times, such as for a king’s coffin.
We still have a quarry here in Takasago City, and we get stones from there. We’re focusing on making it without saying anything. This is fun. I haven’t done something like this in a long time. I was good at it when I was in elementary school. Really? Yeah.
I never got good grades in art class. I pasted it. This Japanese paper is cute. Yeah, I love it, too. And that’s different from the one I have. They feature a variety of patterns and colors, allowing you to create a one-of-a-kind item. Mine was purple. I love the purple one! Continuing to work
I made the roof. I got a lot of glue on my hand. I don’t know if this is a flower or a clover. I pasted two. I’m making good progress. All I have left to do is finish the roof. Decorating it with Tatsuyama stones. They are coming off. They are everywhere.
I think I’m done. Look at my hard work. I’m done! We are done! You can put the lighting inside as well. Wow, this is amazing! I’m going to put it in. They are finished. This Western-style residence was built for foreign engineers working for Mitsubishi Paper Mills Ltd.
Mitsubishi Paper Mills Ltd. continues to use this location for banquets and other functions. So, people still use this place. Among the Japanese antique structures, this Western-style house pops out of nowhere. It is uncommon. Takasago center arcade Grocery store Back then, phone numbers had only a few digits. This is a penny candy store.
Wow, I love a place like this! An old-fashioned place Umegaeda public bath You can see smoke coming out of the chimney. So, this was the source of the smell I had been noticing for a while. Japanese Railway’s Takasago Station.
There was once a railway called the Takasago Line. It ran from Kakogawa to Takasago. So, this is the former site of the Takasago Station. And this is the shopping arcade in front of the station. I see!
It was probably a busy location as a shopping arcade in front of the train station back then. Madoisen
[Takasago City’s ancient house now houses a workshop café. You can taste the monthly chiffon cake and participate in leather craft sessions here. You may enjoy tasty foods while having fun! There is an area where you may buy products made by artists as well as leather goods made by the owner.]
Taking a break in the café Zenzai: 900 yen This looks good! The mochi is huge Monthly chiffon: 550 yen (in November, they were offering an apple cinnamon chiffon cake) Let’s eat. Oh, this is fluffy. It has a strong cinnamon aroma! And it contains a lot of apples, too! This is delicious!
I’m going to try mine. It’s stretching so much. The surface is well-roasted. It has a pleasant aroma. And the sweetness of the red beans is fine! It’s something that you want to eat in the winter. This is nice! And I love the fact that it comes with fruits! This is smooth. Oh, really?
Wow! This orange has been finely processed! We ate everything. Thank you! Takasago Seaside Park Excellent view Window to the Future You’ll be able to see a bright future. The light’s boundaries are visible from this side. What’s my future like? How’s your future? I hope my future is bright. The view is great.
I’m sure the future will be bright. I see a bright future waiting for us. Monument of love Three, two, one We are going to be happy! What a nice sound. Oh, a heart. The water is clear. We were able to create the nightlight and stroll around the city.
We enjoyed meals at the café, too. We fully enjoyed Takasago City. We had so much fun and ate tasty stuff. The antique houses and scenery were wonderfully preserved. So we were completely relaxed the entire time. It was a relaxing moment. Yeah, I feel refreshed. We had a great time. Thank you very much.
We hope those who are watching will visit Takasago and stroll around. If you want to join the nightlight-making class at Kuraku Matsuemon’s residence, please visit the Takasago City Tourism Interaction Bureau website or call them to make a reservation. You can sign up when you come here, too. We hope you will visit this place.
So, I’m Kanna Yagi and… I’m Fuka Kayano. We shared our experience walking about Takasago City and creating the nightlight. See you next time!
