【香川うどん巡り】うどんの名店を一気に食べ比べ!香川に行くなら”ココ”へ行け!

Hello everyone, we are the “Haruhiro Couple.” We have come to Kagawa Prefecture. Kagawa Prefecture is a well-known production area for “udon.” This time, we are going to try a plan we wanted to do when we came to Kagawa Prefecture. Udon eating tour. We have listed about 10 shops we want to visit.

Over the next two days, we want to go on an udon eating tour. Let’s start the udon eating tour right away. “Gamou Udon.” A popular shop with long lines from the morning. 600 yen for two people! Finally, it’s time for “udon.” Let’s eat! Looks delicious. Delicious!

Since the inside of the store was full, we ate outside. Thank you for the meal. We had Gamou Udon. It tasted especially good because it was the first bowl. The broth was a bit sweet. Since we ordered warm udon, it didn’t have a firm texture, but there was still a good chewiness.

Nevertheless, it had a solid bite. This was true Kagawa udon. You can eat as many bowls as you want. Now, let’s head to the next shop. Hinode Seimenjo. Open only from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. There were many toppings lined up on the table.

We ordered two small udon for 240 yen! Very cheap! The udon had a strong chewiness, surprising us. We tried Hinode Seimenjo. It was very cheap. The parking lot was full, the inside of the store was crowded, and there was even a line outside.

It was so crowded inside the store that it was difficult to shoot a video. We quickly ate the udon and left. It took about 45 seconds to eat (laughs). It was very cheap, and the udon had a strong chewiness, very delicious. Tamura Handmade Udon. We ordered two small udon for 500 yen.

The udon had a strong chewiness, making it hard to bite. We ate at “Tamura Handmade Udon.” Here, both of us ordered cold udon. When you order cold udon, you can choose to eat it with the broth or soy sauce. Both were delicious, but it tasted better with soy sauce.

The broth was slightly warm, so it didn’t have a strong chewiness. Next is a shop in front of Takamatsu Station. Handmade Udon Ajisho. Cold small udon was 280 yen, warm small udon was 250 yen. I accidentally spilled the broth while trying to show the udon (laughs). They have many sizes, right?

If it’s a small size, I think it’s around 100g. We ate at Ajisho. It was delicious here too. The broth was gentle. It had a taste so gentle that it felt like drinking egg soup. It’s something you’d want to drink when you have a cold. Udon Sakae.

Small udon was 180 yen, and medium udon was 220 yen. We recommend adding tempura toppings (free of charge). Pour the broth yourself. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious, right? The broth in this place had a very gentle flavor, and it paired exceptionally well with the udon. Udon Baka Ichidai

Kama Butter Udon was 530 yen, and Medium Zaru Udon was 480 yen. Just looking at it, you could tell it was delicious. It tasted like Carbonara. I also devoured the Zaru Udon. We ate at “Udon Baka Ichidai.”

Kama Butter Udon seems to be a specialty here, and all the other customers were ordering it too. It was genuinely rich and delicious, almost like Carbonara. Udon Joto Two servings of cold Bukkake Udon for 840 yen. The tempura was crispy and delicious. The battery ran out. We ate at “Udon Joto.”

Among all the ones we’ve eaten so far, this had the thickest noodles and a strong texture. It was so thick that you had to bite each strand individually. The tempura was exceptionally crispy and delicious. Sanuki Men Dokoro Yamaoka Two soy sauce udon for 640 yen.

There was a note saying, “It’s not a noodle that can be slurped with thick noodles.” Beautiful presentation. It looks like mochi. It really wasn’t a noodle that could be slurped. The udon here was amazing. Even though we’ve eaten udon from various places, we didn’t expect this unique texture here.

It truly was udon like mochi. There were various menu items, but we recommend the soy sauce udon! It feels like eating Isobe mochi. Handmade Udon Yamauichi Soy sauce udon was 250 yen, and we also ordered kamaboko for 150 yen. The flavor of the grated fish paste in the kamaboko was delicious.

End of the food tour. How was the udon tour? We visited many shops. We visited 9 shops so far, but we would like to announce our favorite shop. I already have my favorite.

It would have been better if we had stuck to cold udon throughout, but we also had some warm udon along the way. Certainly, the texture of udon varies a lot depending on the temperature. I apologize for the inconsistency.

Among the 9 shops we visited in these two days, which one did Hiro like the most? It’s Sanuki Men Dokoro Yamaoka. It was overwhelmingly delicious for me. Of course, all the other shops were delicious too. As a premise, I love udon.

Among them, the surprise and uniqueness I experienced while eating, as well as the originality, were the reasons for choosing it. The surface of the noodles is soft and sticky like mochi, but in the center of the noodles, there is a strong and chewy core. Next, which shop did Haru like the most?

It’s Sanuki Men Dokoro Yamaoka. Same here. Both of us unanimously agree that Sanuki Men Dokoro Yamaoka was the most preferred. So, if you come to Kagawa Prefecture, please be sure to visit. There are other shops we hesitated about, but let’s announce them. Handmade Udon Tamura. The noodles had a strong and delicious texture.

Another one is “Saka-Eda.” The broth here was incredibly delicious. The shop I hesitated about is “Hinode Seimenjo.” Also, in another video, I would like to upload a sightseeing video of Kagawa Prefecture. Please be sure to watch it when the time comes.

  1. 香川県はJR乗って行きうどんたべました。大体500円前後で美味しいけど硬かった覚えがあります。ただし高松駅付近のみでしたが。やはり車で行った方がまわれそうですね。
    いつ行けるかなぁ…
