【2024年も運気UP】令和六年の干支「辰(龍)」に出会える神社仏閣[日本の神社仏閣旅]

This is Masaharu Goshuin Travel. The zodiac sign of Reiwa 6 is the dragon. So, we have put together a list of shrines and temples where you can encounter dragons. It is sometimes hidden behind dragon sculptures, dragon ceiling paintings, and lanterns. I hope this will be helpful when you go out.

The deity enshrined is “Susanoo no Mikoto”. It was founded in the first year of Shohei (1346) during the Nanbokucho period. The shrine building was built in 1991, and the dragon carvings are wonderful. You can check the latest goshuin information on the shrine’s official Instagram.

It began when a hall was built in 718 at a sacred place for mountain training. The main hall, which is said to have been rebuilt in 1855, has a dragon sculpture. There are several cats in the precincts. There are also friendly cats inside.

Goshuin stamps are available at the nokyosho. Since there are many days off, check the official Instagram of the temple. These stone steps are the “Seisando” and have 90 steps. When you climb the stone steps to the top, you will find the “Shrine Hall” beyond the “Shinmon Gate”.

Furthermore, on the right side was the Kuzuryu Shrine (Shingu). Well, here is the goshuin that I received on the day. At the amulet office on the left side of the “Fourth Torii Gate”.

It was founded a long time ago. When you climb the long stone steps, you will see the shrine building in front of you. In front of the shrine, you can see a sculpture of a glaring dragon.

It is known as the shrine where Minamoto no Yoritomo prayed for the restoration of the Genji clan. And this is the Goshuin seal that I received on the day. There are 165 stone steps, and at the end is the Karamon Gate, which was built in 1756.

When you look up, you will see a beautiful dragon painting on the ceiling! The shrine building was also built in 1756. Great carvings everywhere! And this is the Goshuin seal that I received on the day. “Taniho Tenmangu” is one of the three Kanto shrines along with Yushima and Kameido.

The building of the worship hall at Yaho Tenmangu Shrine, built in 1851, remains. The shrine has several carvings, including a dragon carving. Well, here is the goshuin that I received on the day. “Ssanryu Torii” facing Daiichi Keihin. This is a very rare torii gate.

In front of the shrine is the second oldest torii gate in Tokyo, dedicated in 1648. The deities enshrined are “Temhirinota no Mikoto,” “Uganome no Mikoto,” and “Sujinson.” And here is the Goshuin stamp that I received on the day. The shrine building was built in 1592. It is a prefecture-designated tangible cultural property. You can see the “Tsunagi Dragon” on the right side of the main shrine. Well, here is the goshuin that I received on the day. The shrine building is relatively new and was completed in 2019.

There is a “Ryujin tree” in the temple grounds that is believed to be over 1,000 years old. You can receive “Dragon Fortune” at the awarding place, and the dragons were lined up.

You can see dragon sculptures in temples such as Taishakudo. At the back of Taishakudo, which has wonderful sculptures, there is a sculpture gallery. By the way, since it is a Nichiren sect, you can receive the head of the temple. The worship hall was built in 1875 and has survived major earthquakes and wars.

There is a carving of a dragon on the front of the shrine. In addition, there are black, blue, white, and red dragons in the temple grounds, as well as the golden dragon and five dragon gods in the shrine! You can check the types of goshuin on the shrine’s official website.

The shrine building was rebuilt in 1855 and the carvings are amazing! In the main shrine at the back of the worship hall, there is a sculpture based on the theme of “Kozan Kyuro.” This is so brightly colored and beautiful that it leaves you speechless. This is a work from 1855.

This is the stamp I received. For the latest information, visit the shrine’s official Instagram! “Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha” is the Ichinomiya shrine in Suruga Province. As you pass through the “romon” gate, you will see the “haiden” in front of you. You can see colorful dragon carvings in the shrine.

Well, here is the goshuin that I received on the day. This is a Shingon sect temple in Miyajima, Hiroshima Prefecture, whose main entrance is Niomon, where you can see a dragon sculpture . “Chokugando” is the main hall of Daishoin. The principal deity, Nakiri Fudo Myoo, is enshrined here.

The temple’s official website has a special page for “Kiri-e Goshuin” that you should check out. Sanbonsugi, a sacred tree. The tree is said to be 500 years old. There are many other trees within the grounds of Oiwa Shrine.

There is a picture of a dragon in the worship hall at the back of the shrine grounds where you can still feel the atmosphere of syncretism between Shinto and Buddhism! Goshuin stamps could be received at the awarding office near the entrance to the shrine grounds.

The Chozuya is old, and the dragon carvings, which are listed on the precinct map from 1835-1837, are powerful and impressive. The Worship Hall was rebuilt in 1885 and remains. And here is the Goshuin that I received.

There is a large lantern at the “Osanmon Gate”. If you look down, you will see a dragon sculpture! “Kawasaki Daishi” is a popular shrine that protects against evil spirits. Goshuin stamps are available at the main hall here. It was celebrated in 1964.

Now, here are the Goshuin book and Goshuin stamps that I received on the day. The enshrined deity is Shinadawaki no Mikoto. About Emperor Ojin. The shrine building was constructed in 1931. It is carved with a dragon sculpture. It is also famous as a shrine where you can see the Shinkansen.

The goshuin has an ∞ mark that says “Shimomoto Hachi-luck Amulet”. This color changes every month. The first place that appears is Hetsu-miya. It enshrines Tasuntsuhime no Mikoto. Next is “Nakatsumiya”. There is a colorful dragon sculpture in the shrine building. Further in the back is Okutsunomiya. Three goddess sisters are enshrined in three shrines.

Limited edition Goshuin stamps that are artistic are sometimes available. Founded in 1703. It is affectionately known as “Fukagawa’s Fudo-sama”. “Fukagawa Ryujin” is next to the water purifier. Pray by floating a “wish tag”. This is the “Old Main Hall.” It was relocated from Chiba in 1951.

The Goshuin I received at this time was a rare clear Goshuin that changes every month. It was founded in 1882. It was originally founded in Kanda and later moved here. There are detailed carvings in the temple. Dragon carvings can also be seen on the wooden nose.

The method of worship is to clap your hands four times, “two bows, four claps, one bow.” The design of the goshuin stamp changes every month. The goshuin stamps, whose designs change monthly, are popular and have a wide variety. The enshrined deity is “Honda Besson”. A dragon sculpture can be seen in the shrine.

Many zodiac rabbits of Reiwa 5 are kept on the grounds. There is a collection of stamps on the shrine’s official website, and information is also posted on the official Twitter account. Yakuoin Yukiji Temple is said to have been built in 744. This main hall was built in 1901.

There are many carvings, including dragons, that are pleasing to the eye. By the way, Mt. Takao was recently designated as a Japanese heritage site. There are many colorful carvings in the temple. You can also see dragons. The decoration of the main hall at the back of the shrine is also impressive.

There is a “easy delivery fox” at “Misaki Inarisha” in the precincts. We hang votive tablets and pray. You can check the latest designs on the shrine’s official website. 2nd year of Soken Jinju (852). The deity enshrined is the Heian period scholar and poet, Ono Takamura.

Overcoming the Great Kanto Earthquake and war damage, you can still see beautiful sculptures such as dragons! Also, to the left of the shrine building is Fujizuka, which was built in 1782! Well, here is the goshuin that I received on the day. Contains cute illustrations.

The “Three Monkeys” of the sacred stable located right after entering the precincts are famous. Yomeimon Gate is impressive in its beauty. When you look up inside, you’ll see a painting of a dragon on the ceiling. It was founded in 1617. There is also a pure white dragon sculpture in the shrine.

Now, this is the Goshuin seal that I received. Enter the Yomeimon Gate and go to the Goshuin-sho on the right. “Hozomon (Niomon)”. It was burnt down in the Tokyo air raids and rebuilt in 1964.

The main hall was also destroyed in an air raid and was rebuilt in 1965. A dragon under the lantern! By the way, the five-storied pagoda was also rebuilt in 1962. You can see the same tower’s Sky Tree. In the center is the ink lettering of Sensoji Temple’s principal image, Sho Kanzeon.

“Niomon” was rebuilt in 1831. A dragon is hiding under the lantern. As you pass through the Niomon gate, you are immediately enveloped in a mystical atmosphere. The main hall is new, but the three-storied pagoda was built in 1712. I received the Goshuin stamp at the Goma reception desk inside the main hall.

Speaking of “Mabashi Inari Shrine”, this Ssanryu torii gate is the first thing that comes to mind. Zuishinmon is a beautiful vermilion gate. There is a “shaden” in the back. And here is the Goshuincho that I received. Also, here is the Goshuin stamp that I received.

When you think of “Kikuta Shrine,” you think of the Ain guardian dog. Komainu goshuin stamps with this guardian dog design are also popular. In front of the shrine, you can see several carvings, including dragons. Check out the latest monthly goshuin designs on the shrine’s official website.

After passing through the torii gate, the approach goes down and then goes up again. It’s rare. The shrine building was rebuilt during the An’ei era (1772-1781). I feel the history. In front of the shrine, you can see a dragon sculpture.

As you walk along the approach to the shrine, there is a temizuya on your left. You can also enjoy flower hand water. A worship hall built around the 18th century. The “main shrine” in the back was built in 1507. Colorful dragon sculptures stand out at the shrine.
