年末の浅草散歩。歳の市で羽子板を買い、喫茶店でモーニング

Asakusa in December, when the year-end atmosphere begins to warm. Today, I went to the “Year-end market” held at Sensoji Temple. From Kaminarimon, pass through Nakamise Street and head towards Sensoji Temple. The words “Matsushita Electric” are written on the lanterns at Kaminarimon. Do you know why?

Since its construction, Kaminarimon has been destroyed by fire and rebuilt many times. The current Kaminarimon gate was built with a donation from Konosuke Matsushita*. (*Founder of Panasonic HD) It seems that Mr. Matsushita made the donation in gratitude for his joint pain that was cured through the prayers. Nakamise Street is always lively.

When I came back for the first time in a while, several new shops had opened. Recently, Asakusa has seen a significant increase in the number of foreign tourists compared to when the Covid-19 was prevalent. Ever since I was a child, I had never seen Nakamise Street empty of people.

It was heartbreaking to see Nakamise Street empty of people during the Covid-19 pandemic. I am gradually approaching Sensoji Temple. By the way, I went to this kindergarten. This is a kindergarten run by Sensoji Temple. I enjoyed the tea ceremony time. (I’m not religious) I’ve arrived! It seems more crowded than usual.

Let’s take a look right away. Sensoji Year-end Market is held every December. It is also called “Hagoita Market”. A variety of New Year’s supplies are sold, centering on hagoita. As I watched it, I felt like something was about to start.

It seems that the shop staff will do “Nihonjime” for the customers who bought them!” “Thank you!” The grounds of Sensoji Temple are lined with stalls selling hagoita. Looking at this scene makes me feel like it’s the end of the year.

The children were trying to guess the price of a battledore. Maybe a social studies tour? The expensive hagoita is said to cost over 100,000 yen. “Can I take pictures?” When I showed him the camera, the shop staff showed interest in it.

We talked for a while about the greatness of the DJI Pocket2 gimbal. I found a small battledore with next year’s zodiac sign, the dragon. cute! The shop staff told us a lot about Sainoichi.

Every year on December 18th, there is an event called “Placement of Kannon” at Sensoji Temple. The year-old market is held for three days, from the 17th to the 19th. Hagoita is said to be a lucky charm that “boosts the economy” and “repels evil spirits.” I decided to buy a dragon hagoita.

There are so many variations of colors and patterns that you will be spoiled for choice! I forget that I am taking a video and choose it with all my heart. As I was seriously choosing, the store staff brought out a lot of items in stock!

“I want you to find something you like,” said the store clerk. The choices are increasing and I’m getting more and more confused! Each dragon battledore is made by hand. No two items are the same, and each piece is unique.

I narrowed my choices down to four options and thought about them even more while talking with the store staff. “It’s okay to worry,” the clerk said. Sorry for staying in the store for so long… The pale green dragon stands out against the red background, and we decided on this one!

The charming dragon face is cute! Decorate it in my room. I’m going to go see Sensoji Temple. That large vase with white smoke coming out is a permanent incense burner. It is said that exposing yourself to smoke will make your body feel better.

I’ve been spraying smoke on my head since I was little, but unfortunately it didn’t help. After all, it wasn’t enough to just rely on smoke. Let’s study from now on. There were many food stalls inside the temple grounds. The beef is also delicious.

I have decided to go to a coffee shop today, so I hold back and walk past the food stalls. Now, we will pass through Nakamise Dori again and head to the coffee shop on Denpoin Dori. Coffee shop CARIB. I’m having breakfast here today!

I sat down in a small two-person seat near the entrance. The entrance side is almost entirely made of glass, so it feels open and comfortable. This cafe is crowded with tourists on weekends, but on weekdays it is also frequented by locals. The morning set (Breakfast Combo) has been delivered!

The toast is made from Pelikan, a long-established bakery in Asakusa. Pelikan bread is crispy on the outside and fluffy and chewy on the inside, making it very delicious. Boiled eggs🥚 toast is delicious as always. There’s something nice about peeling a boiled egg. After eating, it’s notebook time.

The 2024 notebook is Torinco from Takahashi Shoten. When I open next year’s notebook, I feel deeply moved that this year is almost over. At the same time, I’m also looking forward to next year. This year was a year filled with many events, including having a child and appearing on TV.

In October, I started YouTube in earnest. (I originally had a channel, but it was updated on a whim.) I reached 100 subscribers in November, and I was thinking that it would be nice to reach 200 subscribers by the end of this year.

As of the end of December, the number of registered users will soon reach 500. When I was watching 500 registrants, I thought it wasn’t that many. But when it comes to creating it, I think, “I’m so happy that 500 people have registered!”

I will continue to make videos next year as well. I wish there were more subscribers. If you are watching now, please subscribe to the channel. In addition to my notebook, I also made a notebook to plan what I wanted to do.

This is MUJI’s refill notebook. I decorated it a little with masking tape. In my notebook, I write things that happened that day and a simple diary.

I’ve been thinking for a while that I’d like to have a notebook that I can use to make annual plans in order to accomplish what I want to accomplish. You might think, “A notebook is enough after all,” but I’ll give it a try.

The dragon seems to have the meaning of advancement and advancement. I hope 2024 will be the year of your breakthrough! This concludes the 2023 Tekuteku Retro walk video. Happy new year to all of you. We look forward to working with you next year.
