【歴史じっくり紀行】OSHIRO vol.58 小原城 岐阜県御嵩町にあるキリシタンの隠れ郷にあるお城を訪れた!!【ゆっくり解説】【お城巡り】【日本観光】

Hello everyone. Today I went to visit the castle again. The castle this time is Ohara Castle, located in Mitake Town, Gifu Prefecture. Let’s go right away. There are various theories about who built Ohara Castle, but it is said that it was built by the Ogura clan.

The castle is built by integrating the main wall, castle building, and Hakusan Shrine. The owner of the castle was the Ogura clan, who usually lived in the Ogura mansion on the west side of the shrine, and it seems to have been used as a castle during emergencies.

The castle is thought to have been built around 1524. In the 1520s, Hojo Ujitsuna, who succeeded Hojo Soun, was active in the Kanto region, Amago Tsunehisa in the Chugoku region, and Imagawa Ujichika, father of Imagawa Yoshimoto, in Totomi.

The area where Ohara Castle is located was located between the powers of the Saito clan and Oda clan, which ruled Mino, and the Takeda clan, the Sengoku daimyo of Kai. In 1552, Oguri Shinanokami, a local magnate from Mitake in Gifu Prefecture and the lord of Mitake Castle, sought to expand his territory.

The Oguri Shinanokami was a man named Shigenori Oguri, and he attacked Toki Takayama Castle. At that time, the lord of Toki Takayama Castle, Takayama Igamokami, had just passed away. Oguri’s scheme became known to Takeda Shingen of Kai.

It seems that Keimae Toyama, the lord of Iwamura Castle, was contacted and Keimae Toyama sent Hayama to Takeda Shingen of Kai to consult with him.

Toki Takayama Castle also requests relief from Takeda Shingen. Takeda Shingen dispatched his vassals Yorimo Hirai and Mitsutada Kozato, and the Toyama clan also headed to Toki Takayama Castle to help.

Oguri Shinano-kami of Mitake Castle was defeated. Hirai Yorimo, a Takeda vassal, attacked Mitake Castle, Oguri’s stronghold, and Oguri Shinanokami was forced to commit suicide. However, since his son Norihisa became the lord of Mitake Castle, it seems that Mitake Castle was within Takeda’s sphere of influence and was spared from destruction.

Yorimo Hirai, a vassal of Takeda, became the lord of Toki Takayama Castle. Mitsutada Kozato of Kozato Castle also headed to Toki Takayama Castle for relief on orders from Takeda Shingen, so Kozato Castle seems to have been within Takeda’s sphere of influence. However, after Oda Nobunaga captured Inabayama Castle and conquered Mino,

The Ori clan seemed to understand the Oda clan. Takeda Shingen seems to have sensed that the Ozato clan had rebelled, and sent a message to the Toyama clans of Iwamura Castle and Naegi Castle saying, “I will forgive you for the time being, but I want you to find the right time to succeed.”

The Toyama clan was also a force that moved back and forth between the Takeda and Oda factions, so the Toyama clan of Iwamura Castle was attacked by Takeda’s Torashige Akiyama and fell.

The battle was called the “Battle of Kamimura,” and Mitsutada Kozato of Kozato Castle also fought against Takeda to rescue the Toyama clan, and Mitsutada Kozato died in the battle. His child Mitsuaki Kozato became the lord of the castle.

After that, the Oda family renovated Kosato Castle. 1575. At the Battle of Nagashino, the Oda and Tokugawa forces defeated Katsuyori Takeda. The Oda family recaptured Iwamura Castle. Kosato Castle no longer serves as a front-line base against Takeda, and it appears that renovations have been completed.

After the Honnoji Incident, Mino was once again in turmoil. It was divided into the faction of Nobutaka Oda, who was close to Katsuie Shibata, and the faction of Hideyoshi Hashiba, who succeeded in defeating Mitsuhide Akechi. The local powerhouses of Chuno-no and Tono-no have begun to search for future survival.

The Mori clan of Kaneyama Castle in Mino sided with Hashiba Hideyoshi. This Mori clan is from the family of Ranmaru Mori, who is famous for being killed along with Oda Nobunaga during the Honnoji Incident. The Mori clan began attacking surrounding resistance forces in an effort to reunify Chuno and Tono.

The Ori clan refuses to come under the influence of the Mori clan. As a result, the Mori clan attacked Kosato Castle and captured it. Mr. Kozato escapes and relies on his relatives. It seems that he relied on Mr. Suzuki of Asuke Castle.

He participated in the Battle of Komaki Nagakute as a subordinate of Kazumasa Ishikawa. At the Battle of Sekigahara, as a vassal of the Tokugawa clan, he seems to have gone to his former territory and recaptured Orisato Castle.

It seems that Mitsushige Kozato, the lord of the castle at the time, was not blessed with a successor. In 1623, the Ozato clan became extinct. Thank you for watching until the end. How was your visit to the castle this time? Please subscribe to the channel and hit the high rating button.

Our next castle tour will be Ise Kameyama Castle in Mie Prefecture. Please look forward to it.
