秋の京都 紅葉巡り2023 第１回 南禅寺
Kyoto in autumn is filled with autumn leaves. Autumn Kyoto autumn leaves tour 2023. This shooting was on November 25, 2023. In the first session, we will visit Nanzenji Temple, a famous spot for autumn leaves in Higashiyama, Kyoto. Please see access from Kyoto Station.
From Kyoto Station, take the municipal subway Karasuma Line bound for Kokusai Kaikan. At Karasuma-Oike Station, transfer to the Tozai Line bound for Rokujizo. Get off at Keage Station. It is about a 10 minute walk from Exit 1. Take Exit 1, go through the tunnel under the incline called Nejirimanpo, and head towards Nanzenji.
This Nejirimanpo is made of bricks piled up in a spiral shape to withstand the weight of the Sanjukoku-bune on a cart passing through the incline above. The incline and Nejirimanpo are preserved as industrial heritage from the early Meiji era. The maple trees along the way also had beautiful autumn leaves.
This is promising. Enter the precincts from Nanzenji Chumon gate. Enjoy the autumn leaves on the grounds of Nanzenji Temple. After viewing the autumn leaves at Nanzenji Temple, we will head to Eikando Zenrinji Temple, also known as Momiji Temple. Next time we will see the autumn leaves at Eikando.
