Why China is THE BEST travel destination in 2024 šŸ‡ØšŸ‡³

All right so as we walk through this hundreds ofĀ  years old Portuguese fort on one side we can seeĀ Ā  the big towering Grand Lisboa which is the hotelĀ  and casino that’s quite beautiful especially atĀ Ā  night and if we keep heading that direction weĀ  would end up in What’s called the Vegas of theĀ Ā

East which is a casino strip that in fact doesĀ  six times the gambling in terms of the moneyĀ Ā  per year compared to Las Vegas and off the otherĀ  side of the fort we can see the ruins of the SFOĀ Ā

Cathedral and actually across so Waterway there isĀ  mainland China so it’s a really unique cityscapeĀ Ā  here both historical and modern in maau and it’sĀ  for this reason I chose this location to try andĀ Ā  work through an idea with you guys becauseĀ  I’m having some cognitive dissonance so forĀ Ā

One uh China is certainly not a small nationĀ  that you’ve never heard of it’s pretty famousĀ Ā  and it’s massive and I think most people couldĀ  probably pick it out on a map and most peopleĀ Ā  can probably imagine some aspects of ChineseĀ  culture in their head and yet when you comeĀ Ā

Here it’s totally unexpected so as you guys knowĀ  Ivana and I started our journey in Shanghai whereĀ Ā  Ivana and my had both simultaneously explodedĀ  we were blown away by the skyline especiallyĀ Ā  at the boond and we were really intrigued byĀ  the food because we thought we had an idea ofĀ Ā

What Chinese food was like because there’s lotsĀ  of Canadian Chinese food in Canada but the foodĀ Ā  was something different and something enjoyableĀ  and we even went to a small Riverside VillageĀ Ā  which was really seen and really relaxingĀ  and really memorable we had a nice time upĀ Ā

There and right after Shanghai we went to HongĀ  Kong where we also went to a Riverside VillageĀ Ā  which was totally different in the way it wasĀ  organized and the way it was laid out but alsoĀ Ā  incredibly memorable and thought-provoking and aĀ  really worthwhile travel experience and of courseĀ Ā

The skyline also in Hong Kong very impressiveĀ  especially from the peak on the top of the hillĀ Ā  there now right after Hong Kong we came here toĀ  maau where first things first my friend Ken andĀ Ā

I both hit a jackpot so we won some money uhĀ  to be clear he won a lot more than me but weĀ Ā  both had a great time partying and there’s a lotĀ  more than just casinos and maau because like IĀ Ā

Said there’s all of these uh Colonial PortugueseĀ  buildings around that are right kind of nestledĀ Ā  amongst the casinos it’s a really unique place toĀ  be and with all these experiences in mind IvanaĀ Ā

And I are realizing that China has a lot to offerĀ  the world in terms of Tourism and so with that inĀ Ā  mind tomorrow in fact we are going to Chong ChangĀ  China so we’ve already seen Shanghai Hong Kong andĀ Ā

Maau three very impressive cities but it might beĀ  true that Chongqing will be the most impressive ofĀ Ā  all and in fact this video you’re watching canĀ  be a little sneak peek of some of the footageĀ Ā

We Gather I guess Chongqing is known for its sortĀ  of cyber Punk style where once the sun goes downĀ Ā  the lights come on and it looks incredibly modernĀ  and beautiful and I think there are some totallyĀ Ā  unique features to the city including but notĀ  limited to the train that goes right through anĀ Ā

Apartment building which looks like something outĀ  of a video game like Sim City or something so I’mĀ Ā  really excited for Chongqing but to be clear it’sĀ  not even the most thing I’m looking forward to inĀ Ā  the coming weeks which really speaks to the amountĀ  of opportunities there are in China for tourism soĀ Ā

After Chongqing we will leave China for a week orĀ  two to reset our visa and then hopefully fingersĀ Ā  crossed we can get a very unique uh 72-hour visaĀ  to a place called harpin which I’m so genuinelyĀ Ā

Excited for now to be clear the footage you’reĀ  about to see is not Ivana and my footage becauseĀ Ā  this video will be released on YouTube beforeĀ  we go to harpin but the opportunity there for aĀ Ā  winter festival amongst the ice in the freezingĀ  cold in China is something that I really neverĀ Ā

Knew China had and so it’s so funny because IĀ  think of Chinese culture and I think ChineseĀ Ā  New Year I think all my Chinese friends in CanadaĀ  the Red Lantern some unow maybe the traditionalĀ Ā  building with the sloped roofs I thought I knewĀ  the food like lemon chicken chicken or sweetenĀ Ā

Sour pork I thought I knew the Kung Fu movies andĀ  of course the Great Wall of China I thought I hadĀ Ā  a good understanding of what China was sort of allĀ  about and I really didn’t know much cuz I did notĀ Ā

Expect there would be Aus 20 or -30 Ice FestivalĀ  which by the way that town is built with lots ofĀ Ā  Russian influence and so there are onion domesĀ  all around the iconic Russian architecture inĀ Ā  China in Theus 20 orus 30 with people sliding andĀ  going through ice Mansions it’s really somethingĀ Ā

That I couldn’t even wrap my head around so forĀ  this reason I wanted to make this video becauseĀ Ā  it’s so funny that Ivana and I have seen like 1%Ā  of China maybe and yet we’ve done and seen so manyĀ Ā

Things that were unexpected I think the right moveĀ  for Ivana and I will be to get like a proper VisaĀ Ā  where we can do multiple entries over the courseĀ  of 10 years or something uh I think that’s mostĀ Ā

Easily done when we’re back in Canada so if you’reĀ  watching this video please go to our YouTubeĀ Ā  channel And subscribe because because we can seeĀ  who’s subscribing and where they’re from and ifĀ Ā  we get a bunch of Chinese subscribers it willĀ  only encourage us to come back sooner rather thanĀ Ā

Later because there’s lots we still want to seeĀ  haven’t seen the Great Wall of China uh haven’tĀ Ā  seen the part of China where they filmed AvatarĀ  with these like rock mountains everywhere andĀ Ā  I’m really interested in going to hyon provinceĀ  which is an island province in the South I thinkĀ Ā

It’s relatively tropical with beaches also theĀ  food there is very famous especially Malaysia soĀ Ā  there’s lots we want to see and do not to mentionĀ  ivana’s ancestors are from fujan so please go toĀ Ā  our YouTube channel And subscribe if you wantĀ  to see us get a proper Visa because right nowĀ Ā

We’re limited to the 144-hour Visa free TransitĀ  only as well as the unique uh 72-hour Visa inĀ Ā  harpen and so with that in mind I wanted to makeĀ  this video because uh the past month of travelingĀ Ā  around China has been some of the most memorableĀ  and most eyee opening experiences and this isĀ Ā

Why we love travel it’s because you have theseĀ  things in your head and then you’re confrontedĀ Ā  with a reality that’s different and you have theĀ  choice to change your beliefs or not and so youĀ Ā

Can kind of grow this way through the experienceĀ  of travel and so just a short video today but IĀ Ā  will bring you guys for dinner because I’ve gotĀ  a new favorite food here in China so uh let’s

Eat all right so the first thing I love about thisĀ  place is after you order it comes out in like 5 minutes so you need to cook the meatĀ  first and then mix together can thankĀ Ā  you and the second best thing is afterĀ  you get it you get to play with it soĀ Ā

The idea is you got to kind of cook the meatĀ  yourself and on top there cheese oh so nice right and under the beef is onions oh yeah so this one is beef and cheese which for meĀ  is the best one because to be clear we’ve had thisĀ Ā

3 days in a row I’ve tried the pork I’ve triedĀ  the beef and uh actually both times I’ve triedĀ Ā  this I burnt my mouth so I’m going to learn fromĀ  my mistakes and wait caramelize this on I guessĀ Ā

It’s a bit like Korean barbecue when you do itĀ  yourself yeah cheese becomes all melted and onionsĀ Ā  become caramelized and it’s so good thank [Music]Ā  you and so after you’re done mixing it it’s sortĀ Ā  of similar to a regular stir fry the differenceĀ  is because the metal in the bottom is still hotĀ Ā

The bottom rice gets like black and turns intoĀ  this bunny texture where it’s sort of getsĀ Ā  stuck in your teeth but it’s so flavorful and it’sĀ  really one of the best things you can eat there’sĀ Ā

Cheese in there onions and actually corn is theĀ  right veggie cuz it has a bit of a crunch to it I think this is my new favoriteĀ  Chinese food that is better thanĀ Ā  how it bread actually if you took theĀ  hch chip bread and you used it to eatĀ Ā

It with your hand wow that would be theĀ  best Chinese bre ever crazy that wouldĀ Ā  be good right uh but quit honestly EVĀ  and I had this 3 days in a row because uh really

Yummy I said it wasn’t going to be my mouthĀ  I just did it this is what I mean here thisĀ Ā  kind of burnt rice that sort of soaked inĀ  the fat from the beef it’s like the most

Flavorful and so for me definitely five starĀ  food let be clear six star food and I guessĀ Ā  the question that I’m driving at in this videoĀ  is could you call China a Hidden Gem becauseĀ Ā  it’s so world famous right it’s so well known byĀ  everybody even when we walk in this restaurantĀ Ā

There’s a cat with his arm like this so ChineseĀ  and so distinctive there’s so many aspects ofĀ Ā  Chinese culture that have been exported to theĀ  rest of the world because of all the ChineseĀ Ā  immigrants I guess right but could you callĀ  it a Hidden Gem I think it’s the I think it’sĀ Ā

A Hidden Gem that’s incredibly wellknown becauseĀ  you think you know about it but there’s more toĀ Ā  discover right that’s right and so there youĀ  have it thanks for watching our video um stayĀ Ā  tuned to see how many times I burn my mouthĀ  it’s more than five thanks for watching bye

China has always been a mysterious country for us. We know about it, or at least we thought we knew about the country until we actually visited China, and saw it with our own eyes. China is so different than what the western media show! Lots of negative portrayal of China is circulating online. But China is modern, futuristic, natural, traditional, and more. It is definitely our top most recommended destination for 2024. Go to China, and uncover the truth about China yourselves! From futuristic cities, to spectacular nature, and delicious food. Come to China!!!

  1. China is a different planet with diverse landscapes, sceneries and culture. And more importantly, its safe and relatively cheap to travel there.

  2. äøå›½ęœ€ę–°ēš„ę”æē–ę˜ÆåÆ仄ē›“ꎄåœØå‡ŗ兄境延é•æē¾čÆę—¶é—“ļ¼ŒåøŒęœ›čæ™čƒ½å¤Ÿåø®åˆ°ä½ ć€‚

  3. If you like the flavourful scorched crispy rice at the bottom, go to restaurant that serves claypot rice. You’ll love it. Very easy to find these restaurants in Hong Kong. Love your videos ā¤

  4. I am so excited that you guys plan to visit my hometown Harbin!!! It's a shame that I didn't realize how unique and attractive it is until I no longer live there. Please enjoy the beautiful architecture and inexpensive yet marvelous food as much as you can (Northeastern China is known for serving food that is cheap but with gigantic portion). Moreover, people there are super friendly and passionate. You guys will have a good time interacting with folks in my hometown. Thank you for making all these amazing videos! You guys definitely need the 10-year tourist visa since there are so much to explore in this country. The human landscapes and cultural heritage are just as magnificent and interesting as those in Europe, yet few westerners had ever explored these. One piece of suggestion is that you guys may want to have a local guide so that you may get to know more of the local culture and not get troubled by language barrier. I'd love to be that person if I were there in Harbin! Good luck and enjoy your rest of journey!

  5. Great view angel towards China from a complete outsider. You represent most of the western population who thought they know a lot about China but in reality, China has much much more to offer. As a Chinese, your videos offered me a great deal of understanding of how to show my western friends the real China is. Have fun in China and be courageous to try all things especially new food. It’s the best way to start.

  6. You can actually have the same dish (iron pan rice thing) in Markham, when you come back. The restaurant is called "Flaming Kitchen Markham", location: 21-3225 Hwy 7, Markham, ON. You're welcomešŸ˜‰

  7. China super big Pan Asian šŸ‡ØšŸ‡³šŸ‡ØšŸ‡³šŸ‡ØšŸ‡³šŸ‡ØšŸ‡³šŸ‡ØšŸ‡³šŸ‘ā™„ļøšŸ‡ØšŸ‡³ā™„ļø

  8. Canada shall not discriminate China because China choose one party system instead of using two party system. One party system let China develop much faster. Nowadays China is much more developed than India, Brazil , Indonesia or other developing countries. Its streets are also cleaner and safer than most developed countries. Its life expectancy is already 2 years longer than US life expectancy and 9 years longer than India life expectancy .

Expressway length in China reach 177,000 kms vs US 76,000 kms and India 4,900 kms. High speed railway length in China reach 42,000 kms vs both 0 kms in US and India. On top of that, China is also number 1 in many fields such as electricity generation, motor vehicle production , steel and cement production, ship building capacity( China ship building capacity is 232 times greater than US ) while it is nowhere 50 or 70 years ago.

Take life expectancy of both China and US as example. In 1950 China life expectancy is about 38 vs US 68. After 71 years, in 2021 China life expectancy is 78.2 vs US 76.1( latest figure by CDC , US life expectancy dropped by 3 in 2020-2021 period from 79.1 originally). China expectancy increase by 40 years while US increase by 8 years only. China life expectancy increase 5 time faster than US.

Also Look at health care by comparing MMA rate( maternal mortality rate): in 1950 China maternal mortality is 1500 women death per 100,000 birth vs US 100 women death per 100,000 births. In 2021, China MMA is 16.1 vs US 23.8 per 100,000 (the lower the number , the better health care service level) .

Infant mortality rate: in 1950 China infant mortality is 195 death per 1000 birth vs US 26.8 death per 1000 births. In 2021, China infant mortality rate drop to 5 per 1000 vs US 5.4 per 1000 birth.

And people in China retire at 55 years old on average to access pension. About 12 years earlier than US's 67 years requirement while some countries may not have pension at all. It means an American need work extra 40*52*12=25,000 hrs in his life than an average person in China. It also means an American only has 9 years to enjoy retirement while an average person in China has 23 years to enjoy retirement. And it is not means or asset tested when access pension in China. It means you get your pension monthly even you stay overseas, are a multi-millionaire or have another job after retirement. Singapore is another example of one party system. Its gdp is highest among Asia.

  9. China is a country where you must use a VPN to access the Internet. Except for Chinese mobile applications, mobile applications from other countries cannot be used.🤣

  10. The cat waving the arm on the teller is actually not Chinese but Japanese culture. But it's popular in China, maybe because for its good wish(money coming in)

  11. 儽ē¾”ę…•ļ¼ŒåÆ仄äø€ē›“ēŽ©ć€‚super excited to see you guys being travel happily, looking forward to seeing more videos in China!

  12. If you go to Harbin Ice and Snow World to play, you need to buy tickets in advance, it will limit the number of people every day, the play items need to queue, and may even take several hours to play once, so you should take warm measures to prevent frostbite. I hope you have a good trip!

  13. Is it safe for American my mom thinks I’ll get arrested either though I’m don’t do anything wrong

  14. Japanese would be angry hearing you say that the waving cat is Chinese šŸ˜‚ Well it's safe to say the fortune cat is originated in China, but made famous to the world by Japan.

  15. welcome welcome~the way u should try is drive through high way or by train~too much beautiful place &friendly people here in china~i lived in wuhan ,if u guys come here,i would love have u guys a lot local foods and be your guids.

  16. I am so jealous of your food. You enjoying it makes me want to eat some. Hope your longer Chinese happens and you enjoy the adventure.

  17. I was thinking I will only watch your videos while you're in Serbia, but this Chongqing videos are really interesting. City I never heard about, and now I would like to visit.

  18. I became a subscriber when you started your China series – it's been lots of fun watching you both explore all the fun and interesting things in China 😁

  19. ęˆ‘éƒ½ę²”åŽ»čæ‡čæ™äŗ›åœ°ę–¹ äø€ē›“åø¦åœØ南äŗ¬ ēœ‹ä½ č§†é¢‘ē›ø当äŗŽę—…ęøøäŗ†šŸ˜

  20. Definitely get a multiple entry 10 year visa. Now you don’t even need booked flight and hotel to apply.

  21. For those Westerners that thinks China is like Thailand, you are wrong!! Don’t come to China if you’re going disrespect the country and the citizens of China, China is a reserved country, if you’re looking for red light districts go cheap countries like Thailand.. stay away from China, China is better off without you.

  22. John Rutledge went on CNBC Fast Money today (Jan. 17th 2024) and said China is not safe for visitors. "you can get arrested, you can get denied exit out of the country. It's just not a safe place to be". What a liar! Who is this idiot? I am more upset that CNBC provides a platform for such idiot to sit venom. The more visitors reporting the truth, the better!
