How are you all doing? But right away, there’s a problem. My name is Nobusada Oda. He is the grandfather of Oda Nobunaga. Now, who is my son? 1 Nobuhide Oda 2 Nobukiyo Oda 3 Hidenobu Oda 4 Nobutada Oda
The correct answer is in the program. hello everyone. Today I went to visit the castle again. The castle we visited today is Katsuhata Castle. Katsuhata Castle is a castle located in Inazawa City and Anzai City, Aichi Prefecture. Currently, there is only a stone monument. Let’s go right away.
Katsuhata Castle was built in the late Muromachi period. Around 1504. The castle was built by Nobusada Oda. He is Oda Nobunaga’s grandfather. It is said that he originally served as the lord of Koguchi Castle and the lord of Kinoshita Castle. A new castle was built and moved to Katsuhata.
Currently, there is only a monument to the Katsuhata Castle ruins, and no remains remain. The area where the stone monument is located is said to be the site of the main enclosure. Many of the remains appear to have sunk to the riverbed during the Nikko River renovation work in 1812.
The size of the castle is said to be 216 meters from north to south and 205 meters from east to west. Nobusada Oda handed over the castle to his son Nobuhide Oda. Oda Nobusada himself moved to Kinoshita Castle. This is the current Inuyama Castle.
Oda Nobuhide was born in this castle in 1508. After being given the castle by his father, Oda Nobuhide
Became wealthy and expanded his influence by using the water transport of the three rivers that flowed through his territory, the Nikko River, the Miyake River, and the Territory River, and by connecting with merchants in Tsushima. In 1528, when Nobusada Oda died, Nobuhide Oda took over as head of the family.
I’m 20 years old. In 1533, Yotsugu Yamashina, a Kyoto court noble, apparently came to this area to commemorate the building’s construction. Yamashina visits Nobuhide Oda as a music magistrate who handles songs and dance music. He also seems to have taught waka and kemari to Nobuhide Oda and Masahide Hirate.
Later, when the Emperor ascended to the throne, Nobuhide Oda made a donation, and it seems that the connections he made during the commemoration of the new construction of Katsuhata Castle led to the donation at the time of the Emperor’s enthronement.
Incidentally, the Yamashina family of Yotsugu Yamashina is a branch of the Shijo family of the Fujiwara Kita family. His official rank eventually rose to the rank of Shonii Gon Dainagon. He was assigned to Kuranokami, the person in charge of the finances of the Imperial Court.
At that time, Kyoto was a burnt-out area due to the fires of the Onin War. Yotsugu Yamashina was entrusted with rebuilding the imperial court’s tight finances, and his method of doing so was to collect donations from various feudal lords. The Oda family was wealthy enough to donate money to the imperial court.
Its financial resources came from the control of Tsushima and the revenue from the port since the time of Oda Nobusada. Nobuhide Oda inherited his financial power and further expanded his influence.
When Oda Nobunaga inherited the headship of the family, the Oda family was on the verge of splitting up, but he managed to keep it together. And reunified Owari. Invading Mino. Oda Nobuhide attacks Nagoya Castle. At that time, there was a man named Ujitoyo Imagawa in Nagoya Castle.
He is a relative of the Imagawa clan of Suruga. He was the younger brother of Yoshimoto Imagawa, who was killed at Okehazama. It seems that he was on good terms with Nobuhide Oda. In fact, Ujitoyo Imagawa also participated in the commemoration of the new construction of Katsuhata Castle mentioned earlier.
Ujitoyo Imagawa was 12 years old. It seems that he was taught kemari by Yotsugu Yamashina. Why did Ujitoyo Imagawa lose Nagoya Castle to Nobuhide Oda, who was his close friend? Ujitoyo Imagawa seems to have liked renga. They often held meetings, and Nobuhide Oda seems to have noticed and participated in them.
Eventually, he gained the trust of Ujitoyo Imagawa. In 1532, Oda Nobuhide collapsed inside Nagoya Castle. Oda Nobuhide wanted to leave a will to his vassals, so the castle lord, Ujitoyo Imagawa, allowed Oda Nobuhide’s vassals to enter Nagoya Castle.
Oda Nobuhide and his vassals set fire to the inside and outside of the castle at night , causing the castle to fall. Ujitoyo Imagawa begged for his life, and his life was saved and he fled to Kyoto.
Nobuhide Oda moved his base to Nagoya Castle, then built a new castle, Furuto Castle, and then moved his base to Furuto Castle. He handed over Nagoya Castle to Oda Nobunaga. It seems that his vassal Muto Yumasa was placed in Katsuhata Castle.
Katsuhata Castle was abandoned when Oda Nobunaga moved his base to Seishu. When Nobunaga moved his base to Seishu, Muto was also transferred to Owarinofu. Katsuhata Castle seems to have gradually fallen into disrepair. Everyone. Are you enjoying visiting the castle?
It’s time to check the answers to the quiz at the beginning. Once again, my name is Nobusada Oda. He is Nobunaga’s grandfather. Which one is my son? 1 Nobuhide Oda 2 Nobukiyo Oda 3 Hidenobu Oda 4 Nobutada Oda The answer is Nobuhide Oda. Nobuhide rose to prominence in Owari and
Gained power that surpassed the Shiba family, the shugo, and the Oda family, the shugo. Eventually, Dosan Saito of Mino. Suruga and Totomi came into conflict with the Imagawa family, but they were unable to capture Dosan Saito’s Inabayama Castle. They will marry Nobunaga and Dosan’s daughter Nohime and form an alliance.
It was fine until they fought against the Imagawa family and took Takechiyo of the Matsudaira family in Mikawa hostage. His son Nobuhiro Oda was taken hostage and exchanged with Takechiyo, and Mikawa completely became Imagawa’s sphere of influence.
Just as Imagawa’s power was gradually moving towards Owari, Nobuhide died of illness. Nobunaga will do something about it later. How do you know that I, Nobunaga’s grandfather? Because I was watching over you in the afterlife. Now, everyone, please spend the rest of your time leisurely touring the castle.
Oops. What ship do you see over there? You need money to enter Tsushima port. There’s no need to dress up. Thank you for watching until the end. How was your visit to the castle this time? Please subscribe to the channel and hit the high rating button.
Our next castle tour will be Ohara Castle. This castle is located in a hidden Christian village in Gifu Prefecture. Please look forward to it.
