【奥高尾縦走】陣馬山から高尾山まで〜日帰り18キロ縦走 | 東京散歩

Hello, this is SANPO GUIDE. I am at the north exit of JR Takao station. I’m going to walk along the Okutakao Traverse Trail to see the autumn leaves on Mt.Takao First, we will take a bus to the trailhead of Mt.Jinba Even though it is a weekday, there are many hikers here.

Okutakao Traverse Trail is a popular and easy route for beginners. Buses are very crowded in the morning The bus arrived at the Jimba Kogen Shita bus stop where the trailhead is located. It takes about 40 minutes from Takao station First, we head for the trailhead of Mt.Jinba

There are two different ways to write the kanji for Mount Jimba. Which is the correct spelling? Hmmm… autumn leaves are not yet… Walking on the paved road to the trailhead After about 20 minutes, you will reach the trailhead of Mt.Jinba From here it’s about an hour’s climb to the summit.

It is quite a steep climb. We are careful not to get our feet caught by tree roots and stones. The steep slope continues until you reach the summit, so take your time and climb at your own pace. We are now near the summit of Mt.Jinba We are almost there.

The white horse statue, the symbol of Mt.Jinba We have reached the summit of Mt.Jinba The first peak, Mount Jimba, is conquered! The summit of Mt. Jinba offers a 360-degree panorama! Mt.Fuji can be seen beautifully if the weather is good. It’s cloudy today, so you can’t see it.

Tired from the climb, I’m going to have a rice ball to recover my strength Now that we have regained our strength, we are going to climb to the next peak, Mt.Dotokoro This trail we are walking now is called the Okutakao Traverse Trail. Mt.Takao, Mt.Kobotoke-Shiroyama, Mt.Kagenobu, Mt.Dotokoro, Mt.Jinba

This is an 18-kilometer-long trail connecting five peaks The total elevation is about 1200m, with few ups and downs, and the trail is well maintained. There are teahouses, toilets, and escape routes along the way. It is a popular one-day traverse route that even beginners can traverse if they are physically fit.

It is a gentle ridge trail. You can enjoy hiking with plenty of time to spare and enjoy the nature Arrive at Myouou pass after 25 minutes walk from Jinba mountain The teahouse is not open. I borrowed your restroom. Toilet in the mountains. Convenient. Arrive at the branch of Mt.Dotokoro

Oh, I remember there was a bear sighting a couple of days ago on Mt.Dotokoro I don’t know if I want to go up there. In the end, we chose to take a detour instead of climbing. I’m afraid of bears. I’ve also equipped myself with a bear bell. This is the confluence

Another fork appears Without hesitation, I choose to detour. The strategy is to reduce the ups and downs as much as possible to conserve energy. There are many detours along the Okutakao Traverse Trail, so let’s take advantage of them. There are some junctions that can be easily mistaken for detours, so be careful.

This is the way to the top of Mt.Kagemobu Oh, nice view A panoramic view of the Kanto Plain The second peak, Mt.Kagenobu, is the summit! It’s just around noon, so we have lunch here. And now, it’s time for some mountain food cooking.

Today I’m going to make a pasta dish with plum and mushrooms that I bought at mont-bell. It’s some kind of real cooking kit. You can count on it. First of all, you put in 250cc of water Put in ingredients and pasta It seems to be really made in a frying pan

I’m a little nervous about making it in this type of container. Ignition Is everything okay? I heard they boil it until the water is gone… I wonder if the water in this will be removed… Oh… it’s starting to look like that. Pasta with plum and mushrooms is ready. Looks very nice

Okay, let’s eat. Yeah, it’s delicious. I was worried about the boiling time, but it was fine. And now it’s time for coffee after the meal. Today, we’re going to have a cup of coffee at the Sennen-Ichinichi coffee roasting place in Tsukuba city. We will have Guatemala

It’s a dip-on type, like a tea bag. Pour hot water over it. Just wait a while and delicious coffee is ready How does it taste? Very tasty! I have been satisfied with powdered instant coffee until now, but This is a taste of another dimension.

It’s easy to make, it doesn’t take much luggage, and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to powdered coffee again. That’s all. The top of Mt.Kagenobu is full of tables and chairs, so it’s the perfect place to take a break. I heard it’s also the birthplace of Kasumi Bashira of Kimetsu-No-Yaiba

Only this tree had red leaves Now we are going to Mt.Kobotoke-Shiroyama From Mt.Kagenobu to Kobotoke Pass, it’s all downhill We are now at Kobotoke Pass This is the col of the ridge connecting Mt.Kagenobu and Mt.Shiroyama This means you have to climb back up as much as you descended from here.

Climbing up and up The path is well maintained, so it is very easy to walk. When you see the antenna, you are almost at the summit of Mt.Kobotoke-Shiroyama. The third peak, Mt.Kobotoke-Shiroyama, has been reached! Mt.Kobotoke-Shiroyama is also a popular rest spot with many teahouses, tables and chairs.

Nameko mushroom soup… I want to eat it. This is the famous Nameko mushroom soup. Yeah, it’s delicious! The warm soup with dashi broth will soak into your tired body. It’s delicious! Nameko mushroom soup with a view of the moderately colored autumn leaves was great! Now we head for the final peak, Mt.Takao

Mt.Fuji can be seen from here if the weather permits. Well, I can’t see it today. From Mt.Kobotoke-Shiroyama to Mt.Takao, it’s a gradual descent until the halfway point. The autumn leaves at Iccyoudaira were not yet in full bloom. This is the final ascent.

I was not sure whether to use the detour or not, but We will take the route to climb at the end. After climbing up the hill, we came to a place called “Momiji-dai” (Maple Leaves). Autumn leaves are not yet in full bloom. We are almost to the summit of Mt.

If I climb these stairs, I will reach the summit. This is quite tough. Finally, I’m done climbing… Well, can you see Mt.Fuji Well, you can’t see it, can you? Still, it’s full of people taking pictures. As expected, Mt. Takao is crowded with people But less than usual?

The fourth peak, Mt. Takao, is reached! Now it’s time to descend. You can take the cable car down the mountain. I’m not that tired, and I have enough time before sunset. I decide to descend on Trail 6 Huh? Can’t we go down the Trail 6? No, between 8:00 and 14:00… good.

Because at certain times of the year, the trail is restricted… I’d suggest you check before you go out. We’re at the trailhead of Trail 6. We’re safe here. We made it down safely. Thank you very much. Mountain rescue teams were gathered at the trailhead… thank you for your hard work Praying for the safety of the rescued people and the rescue team, we are heading for the station.

When I go into the mountains, I make a reasonable plan and take all possible equipments… I want to enjoy mountain climbing with a margin of safety, not with overconfidence. So this time, we walked along the Okutakao Traverse Trail.

The access from the Tokyo is good, the trail is well maintained, and the ups and downs are gradual. I think it is the best route for a traverse debut. but it is about 18km long and you will be walking on a mountain trail.

You should take it easy and consult with your physical fitness and condition. By the way, my course time this time is With plenty of breaks, it took me 7 hours and 16 minutes. We left the Jimba Kogen bus stop at 8:29 a.m. Arrived at Takaosanguchi station at 15:46 p.m.

I feel so good, so accomplished. If you have a chance, you should try it, too. Thank you for watching to the end! If you like it Please give us a high rating and subscribe to our channel! Enjoy the next installment!
