【心霊】今でも幽霊多発の廃監獄を訪ねたら、、
Hi, I’m Cai. This time I’m in Bomaris, Wales. The town is lined with cute buildings, but a prison once existed here. And at the site, there have been sightings of poltergeists and ghosts, as well as a clock that was driven mad by a condemned man, which still exists today.
We will explore the secrets of Bomaris Gaol, which still remains today. This channel sheds light on history not covered in textbooks. Please subscribe to our channel. The former jail site is now a museum. Let’s take a look inside.
The Bomaris Jail was built in 1829. In the 19th century, the gold rush in the nearby Parys Mountains brought an influx of miners from Scotland and other surrounding areas. The number of prisoners increased as the population grew, A new prison was needed. As a modern prison in its time,
It was built here. This is laundry room. This is where prisoners’ clothes were cleaned. Take a tour around the prison and introduce the history of the prison. These are the chains that were attached to the prisoners. This is the workroom. Prisoners were forced to do hard labour,
As many prisoners deliberately committed crimes to get in because they thought it was better than the poor life outside initially. As you can see, there are signs prohibiting private conversations. The toughest labour was stone crushing. Stones sent from a nearby quarry were crushed with a hammer to the size of a coin.
How many people were working here at the same time? We are back inside the prison. Next, let’s take a look at the cells. In each cell, there’s a description of the person who was in here. The charges and other information about the people who were in here are still there.
This person was jailed for three months for stealing copper, He was also given a flogging. The first thing you see when you walk in is a loo. There are private toilets. This was also a modern prison, where hygiene conditions were taken care of,
Unlike previous prisons where the spread of disease was common. Therefore, each room was fitted with its own toilet. Incidentally, the cleaning room was part of the process. There’s a bed under the window. Is it a storage cabinet? There is also an air hole. The tiny holes allow you to see in and out.
Perhaps this is the hole where the food is served. It was also easy to see from outside the room, but there was a string connected inside and outside, and when the prisoner pulled the string, a bell would ring to call the warden. Let’s have a look at the other cells.
It says here that a person who damaged six turnips of a nobleman was put in and made to work for seven days. This one is narrower. Stealing a handkerchief and a glass and being exiled to an island for 10 years. That’s pretty harsh.
This one is a month’s hard labour for leaving his family behind and being prodigal. Despite being able to work, he was on welfare fraud for two years, with one month’s hard labour. Three months’ hard labour and three lashes for stealing wine and bread.
It’s something like the world of Les Miserables. I was a bit nervous about the word debauchery, especially as I came here alone for YouTube. There was also a punishment room at the end of the prison for prisoners
Who did not take their labour seriously. As you can see, some people were locked up for three days in total darkness in this tiny space with no windows, and some went crazy. I tried turning off the lights to test it,
But it was really too dark and I couldn’t see anything on the video. While walking through the prison, I found something interesting. There is a very strange room. The location of this room is right in the middle of the prison, and right above the jailer’s room.
This place was only used to hold water and prisoners’ clothes, but the structure is a mystery and there must be something about it. There is a legend of curses by a prisoner on this prison. In 1878, it was no longer used as a prison and only operated for about 50 years,
As well as housing a maximum of 30 prisoners at any one time. However, there is also an execution facility here, where two prisoners were sentenced to the death penalty. Here is the location. You are now on the second floor of the building, but you can see a door ahead of you.
There was a wooden bridge between that door and the door, prisoners who crossed it were hanged at the end of the door. The door is connected to the outside of the prison, and on the day of the execution,
The people gathered for entertainment to watch the moment. And there is still a curse associated with one of its prisoners. His name was Richard Rowlands, who was executed in 1862 for the murder of his father-in-law.
He pleaded his innocence to the end, but the outcome was never overturned, and as he was about to be hanged, he pointed to the church clock visible from the execution platform. He then told people that he would put a curse on the clock to make it lose time and took his life.
Since then, the time has really been out of sync and they are still unable to fix it. Some believe that the clock has simply become old, but the details remain unclear. Prisoners executed here were buried in this prison yard.
By not burying them in the church, they were meant to keep them from going to heaven. A women’s workroom also exists near this yard, where numerous sightings have been made, including the ghost of a girl as well as the ghost of a condemned man. It is truly a garden of repute.
Although a chapel was also set up in the prison, It may not have gone so far as to pacifier ghosts. It says on the wall that those who do not repent their sins shall burn in hellfire and damnation. In this video, the Welsh Beaumaris Prison was introduced.
The previously mentioned gold rush at Parys Mountain led to an increase in population, which made it difficult to house prisoners, so the prison was built in the 19th century as a modern prison. But to begin with, it was shocking that many people were jailed under stricter laws than now,
Including bread thieves and debauchees. It was also used for other purposes, such as a police station and museum, after the prison closed in 1878. However, there are still curses of crazy clocks and legends of ghosts, and I thought that many of these stories are still told
Because they still retain a shadow of their prison days. Thanks for watching. See you at the next video!
