【奇跡!】サンライズツインを乗車30分前に確保!たった4部屋しかないプレミアルームにどうやって乗車する!?
Good evening, we are now at JR Takamatsu station in Kagawa prefecture I will be heading to Tokyo from now on, This time, we will board the Sunrise Seto, a very popular sleeper train! We are 2 adults and 1 child, Unfortunately, the tickets we were able to secure are for two single rooms
And those are rooms that are a bit far away from each other, so not a very convenient situation We have about 30 minutes before departure, So I’m going to try to see if there are any other good room cancellations! I’m thinking a room that can accommodate two adults in a group,
“Sunrise twin” or “Single twin” rooms are available, But these are platinum tickets, so I don’t think they are available So at least if there is a single room available next to each other, Quite a gratifying situation I immediately tried the ticket window and a miracle happened! I secured a platinum ticket!
I was able to secure this “Sunrise Twin”! Only 4 rooms in one train, a very rare private room! I think we were lucky to secure one that was cancelled at the last minute! So let’s head for the platform Just in time for the trains to arrive
I’d like to take my time and enjoy the view, but I’m going to hurry on And boarding from this car 11 But don’t head to my room, turn right to car 10 instead There was already a line, but it looks like it’s probably okay So here’s the shower card I’m trying to get
Only 20 cards are on sale, but they’re still on sale as we are at origin station now It’s smoother if you prepare 330 yen worth of coins in advance So, I was able to get it successfully! Now I would like to head to my room Sunrise Twin is located here in car 11
The room we just secured at the last minute is number 2, So it’s just this way Let’s enter the room Wow, this is really a great room! Two beds side by side And ample ceiling height In addition to yukatas, blankets are also prepared And similar beds are next to it
Above this is a single deluxe room located This space would be useful for suitcases And this protruding part is the stairway area for single deluxe room And there are two bedside lights, so it’s a great room for two persons It’s hard to believe that this is a sleeper train!
And it’s really a miracle that we were lucky enough to secure it just before So it’s worth asking even if you don’t get it! By the way, they also said today that the other rooms are close to full
I don’t think anyone traveling with more than two people would secure tickets at the last minute, So that may have been a factor in our being able to get a canceled room this time I’m going to head in the direction of the first car
This time, this Sunrise Seto will depart from Takamatsu and head first to Okayama The train will pass through the Seto-ohashi Bridge and will arrive at Okayama in about an hour And at Okayama, the train is joined by the Sunrise Izumo train coming south from Izumo City
And then it heads to Tokyo as the Sunrise Izumo & Seto Basically, we move eastward, passing the Tokaido Line, We’ll spend the night and head towards Tokyo Station Since this is the only regular sleeper train still in existence in Japan, Tickets for these trains are still very hard to get
Here is the timetable After departing Takamatsu Station at 21:26, the train arrives in Okayama at 22:34 And the last stop, Tokyo, will arrive at 7:08 the next morning It’s a 10-hour sleeper train ride And this is the first car, car No.14 Sunrise Seto has 7 cars, and Sunrise Izumo has 7 cars too
After the train is connected, it will be a 14-cars train The train departs Takamatsu Station on time The 10-hour train trip has begun By the way, the kids loved this little space However, I don’t think it’s very good for safety, it will be better not to keep them there too long
There is no ice cream sold on board, so you need to buy it in advance Arrival at Sakaide station This sunrise twin room is placed low, The view is just like the station platform Not too unusual, no one seems to stop to look at this sleeper train
So I’d like to go for a walk around the car Let’s start with the equipment here This is a shower room Because the shower room in car 11 is for 1st class passengers only, 2nd class passengers including us should use the shower room in car 10 The shower booths are quite spacious,
I think 1 adult and 1 child can fit in there without any problem The time limit for shower is 6 minutes, You need to take a shower in a reasonably short time Then this will be the restroom Very simple and functional design By the way, this is car 12, though,
It has a motor beneath, so there is a lot of noise and vibration And here is the cabin area of car 12 This is the “Nobi-Nobi(Stretching) Seat” There is no sleeper fare, only reserved seat fares, so it’s quite economical! It is not a private room, but I think it is highly liberating
Then we come to car 13 This car is divided into a first floor and a second floor And this is the single room This is the most common type of single room in Sunrise Next is car 10, also equipped with vending machines And the shower card is.., Still for sale
Lounge with seating for a total of 8 people This space is especially useful for passengers without private room The sleeping quarters continue behind this area This will be a “Solo” upper level private room The staircase exists right behind the door, which is a unique feature of this room
And here is the “Solo” lower private room It is about 1,000 yen cheaper than a regular single private room This is a “Single twin” with relatively few rooms Because there is an upper bed and a lower bed in one room, Perfect for 2 people just like Sunrise Twin room
However, there are only a few rooms available, so reservations can be quite difficult Finally, here is a video from another day on the train, 1st class sleeper “Single Deluxe” This is the most advanced class of Sunrise and also the most difficult to get a reservation
1st class sleeper berth with a washbasin and a desk, It is just like a “Running hotel” This room is located above the Sunrise Twin that we are staying in, The view from the window is also enhanced by the view from the second floor Sunrise is running smoothly
And soon it will pass the Seto Ohashi Bridge Here we say goodbye to Shikoku island and cross over to Honshu island It’s dark and hard to see out, but we can now see the Seto Ohashi Bridge The sound of the train running is quite pleasant Finally passing the bridge
We can see a few factories in Sakaide from the window of the train Arriving at Okayama Station, we get off the train in a bit of a hurry It’s the big event, the Sunrise Izumo and Seto coupling! First, the Sunrise Seto enters the platform ahead of the Sunrise Isumo and prepares
Soon after, the Sunrise Izumo arrives Sunrise Seto was a little late today, Looks like Sunrise Izumo had been waiting for its arrival for a while Quite a lot of galleries, as this is a big event! Sunrise workers must be very nervous Getting closer and closer
The station staff is working with the driver over the radio The Sunrise Seto side is also fully prepared to couple the train So, the coupling is successfully completed! We were able to observe from a pretty good position However, we can’t relax here
The train will depart shortly, so get on board to avoid delays Before we head back to our room, let’s take a look at the coupling point we just saw from the outside Let’s go through from Sunrise Seto to Izumo You can hear the sound of the train running
And when I open this door.., It becomes even louder And this is exactly where the connection is made It is quite bumpy, so we cross carefully We are safely through to the Sunrise Izumo side Also, this is a bit of an unusual sight
You can see a little bit of the drivers cab of Sunrise from here This is the coupling section, so there is no one in this cab By the way, at this point, the shower cards are sold out I guess you need to buy as soon as possible After showering, relaxing in my room
The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge comes into view in the distance It’s hard to get tired of the view from the windows of a sleeper train, though, I think it’s time for me to go to bed tonight Good night… It’s the next morning and I’ll be arriving in Yokohama shortly
As expected, the room was quite comfortable We are quite lucky to have stumbled upon a really great room! Arriving at Yokohama station on time Today is Saturday, so the commuter rush doesn’t seem too crowded Our 10-hour train ride will soon be over
It’s a really comfortable room, and we’ll be able to spend about 10 more hours in it Especially this time, because I originally thought it would be two single rooms a little further apart, We were lucky enough to change to a sunrise twin at the last minute and were delighted!
Finally, the last stop, Tokyo Station The in-train announcements are quite enthusiastic 😀 So we say goodbye here to the room that has taken care of us for the night After disembarking, we again check out the majestic view of Sunrise After all, we stop at this coupling part This side is Sunrise Seto
And the other side is Sunrise Izumo This is near the first car of Sunrise Izumo Many people are taking pictures After a 10 minute stop, the train is leaving for the garage And again, it’ll be ready for the overnight run this evening Thank you for your hard work!
So that’s it for today’s Sunrise Twin room review Thank you for watching so far! Please subscribe to my channel as well!
