New Year’s Eve Countdown 2024 in Japan | Yokohama, Japan | 4K Walking Tour

Hello! Today is New Year’s Eve 2024 And Jiji is going to watch the fireworks later in Yokohama! This video is shorter and a bit different than our typical relaxing walking videos Because we just want to highlight the experience of spending New Year’s Eve in Japan Particularly watching the fireworks display in Yokohama.

We also have another video where we took our time Walking around the different nearby locations To see what the people are up to and how the vibe is like during this season. Please subscribe and check out our other videos too~

A lot of people are out and they are probably waiting for midnight as well 🤩 There are also illumination events that are going on right now The whole city is active with lights and music Which makes the evening more exciting~ For now, we will walk around Osanbashi Pier

Which is one of viewing points for the fireworks display~ We’re still at least an hour away from midnight and there’s so many people already! We provided timestamps on the description below You may skip ahead if you would like to see the fireworks~

Otherwise, you can come along with us as we walk around Osanbashi Pier. This place seems like a cool place to visit, with or without a special event. We’re going to continue walking around for now since this is our first time here 😊 The rooftop area is called the “Whale’s Back”

Because it looks like the back of a whale from an aerial view! 🐳 Tomorrow we will also watch the first sunrise of the year at this location! For now, let’s go and have a look around~ The countdown is about to start! Happy New Year, everyone!

I hope you guys have a wonderful year ahead! May our wishes and goals come true this year 🥳 One of our goals this year is to get better at our craft That includes filming, photography, storytelling, and just traveling in general~ And part of that is to connect with people

And to share more of our adventures out into the world 😄 What are your goals this coming year 2024? Everyone’s leaving now~ We’re heading out too. And we will be back in a few hours here to catch the first sunrise of the year 🌅

For now, enjoy some of the photos that Jiji took tonight~

👋 Hello! Today, Jiji goes to Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan! We went to hangout at Osanbashi Pier to wait for the countdown to New Year 2024 and watch the fireworks display shortly after midnight~ This video is shorter and a bit different from our other relaxing walking videos, because we just mainly wanted to highlight our experience of spending New Year’s Eve in Japan. However, this is just one of many ways to celebrate this significant holiday. Many people gather at popular spots to do their own traditional celebrations, such as countdowns, temple visits, and spending time with family and friends.

📍 YOKOHAMA PORT OSANBASHI, one of Japan’s largest international passenger ship terminals, is where the New Year’s Eve fireworks event takes place. They features a display of fireworks over Yokohama Bay, creating a stunning backdrop with the city’s skyline and the iconic Yokohama Landmark Tower. As the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Day, ships docked at the port collectively sound their horns, marking the dawn of the new year.

Moreover, on January 1st, immediately following the ship horns, a breathtaking three-minute fireworks display illuminates both the Shinminato Pier and Osanbashi. This dazzling spectacle is part of the “Yokohama Sparkling Twilight” festivities, which include projection mapping at Osanbashi and Shinminato Central Square, along with captivating illuminations throughout the Yamashita Park area, enhancing the vibrancy of Yokohama. For an unforgettable experience, consider embarking on a countdown cruise around the bay area to fully immerse yourself in the festive celebrations.
