【金武町】敗戦国ニッポンの娼婦とアメ女 沖縄県国頭郡 [Kin Town] Japanese prostitutes and “Ame-jyo” Okinawa Prefecture
Kin town social district When I got into a taxi along the national highway and said, “To Kin town,” the driver made eye contact with me in the rearview mirror and muttered to me.
“Are you from the mainland? Even if you go to Kin Town, you won’t be met by women. It’s all about ‘Ame-jyo’.” Amejo is a term used to refer to Japanese women who have sexual relations with American soldiers, and has a chillingly derogatory meaning.
Ame-jyo flatters the soldiers of the victorious country. Walking through the colorful streets where these girls live in Japan, a defeated country. Kin Town (Okinawa Prefecture) Kin town is located about an hour’s drive from downtown Naha. It is a base town where US military facilities occupy 60% of the land area. camp hansen
The Kin-cho social district, commonly known as “Shinkaichi,” is an entertainment district located just a stone’s throw from the gate of Camp Hansen, a US military base.
At night, the alleys are filled with American soldiers and loud English songs can be heard coming from the shops. It’s like stepping into a foreign land even though you’re in Japan. Some women who lost their fathers or husbands were forced to become prostitutes as a means of survival.
There were many American soldiers there who needed prostitutes. The red light district was abolished in the next war. (snip) Drinking districts were also established in places such as Kin Village, and prefabricated prefabricated buildings painted in primary colors became gathering areas for prostitutes.
“Tokudokugai” is an abbreviation for special food district, and in other words, it refers to a type of business where the main purpose is the service of prostitutes.
After the war, Okinawa suffered constant violence from American soldiers who were clearly conscious of their occupation, and many drinking districts were formed to act as “sexual bulwarks.”
A time when people had no choice but to become prostitutes to stave off hunger. The Kin-cho social district also played a role as a place for women struggling with poverty to survive.
At 9pm, when the area is crowded with American soldiers coming out of the base, the only Japanese men walking around the city seem to be me and the sales clerk.
In Kin Town, a Japanese woman, commonly known as Ame-onna, struts around the town with her arms wrapped around the arms of large American soldiers. Ame-jyo disappears into a store at night with an American soldier. When American soldiers sing karaoke, Japanese female store employees clap their hands to cheer them up.
Drunk American soldiers urinate standing in gaps between buildings and get into loud fights. The next morning, broken wine bottles were scattered on the street. The American soldiers are making too much noise, so we only allow Japanese customers in. Most of the snacks around here are for Japanese people.
When I wrote “Japanese only” on the entrance door, American soldiers saw me thinking it was racist, and I was attacked and treated badly. It’s normal for stores to exclude Japanese people here, but the stores that cater to Japanese customers are being small-minded.
According to a mom who runs a snack bar, until recently there was an entertainment industry for American soldiers that was off-limits to Japanese people in Kin Town’s social district. Until about 10 years ago, there was an old lady selling customers on the central street. American soldiers play with Japanese and Filipinos.
Even though Japanese people were walking by, they didn’t talk to me at all, but when American soldiers approached, they beckoned me into the store. I think it’s gone now, but there are still many places that don’t accept Japanese customers, so there may still be some places like that left.
Most of the customers at the snack bar are elderly, so self-deprecating that they call it a “nighttime day service,” but the bar catering to U.S. soldiers is filled with the energy of young people.
I went to a store that my snack bar mom had told me about where American soldiers gathered, but the clerk coldly said, “No, Japanese,” through the small window next to the entrance.
Shinkaichi is at its peak on payday for American soldiers. For Japanese people, the sight of a city filled with U.S. soldiers makes them feel uncomfortable.
After the war, prostitutes who sold their bodies to American soldiers were derided as Panpans. The way modern Ame-jyo flirts with American soldiers is like the prostitutes of those days. Kin town has a history of prostitution. Ame-jyo is now blowing the wind with her shoulders in the town where the chonnoma has disappeared.
The back of Ame-jyo, who lives proudly in a town where Japan is reminded that Japan is a defeated country, is heartbreaking for fellow Japanese people.
日本が敗戦国であることを痛烈に思い知らされる街、金武町。
国道沿いでタクシーに乗り「金武町まで」と言うと、バックミラー越しに運転手が目を合わせて呟いた。

日本が相対的に貧しくなるなかで、いずれこういう光景が日本中にあらわれるのではと思います。
ちなみに路地裏さんはどのようなきっかけで路地裏探訪を始められたのでしょうか？
日本国内にある基地を見るにつけ、ああ日本は独立国じゃない合衆国の51番目の州だと感じてしまう。
幼少時、親の実家・佐世保で感じた違和感。同じく沖縄で数年暮らした時に感じた違和感。
ジョージア州アトランタで1年ほど仕事で暮らした時に感じた、ダウンタウンでの違和感。
沖縄シリーズまだあったんですね。昔コザで今はキンですか。・・・
さすが沖縄、一般的な歓楽街とはやっぱり雰囲気が全然違いますね〜
至るところにあるボロい建屋に英語がつらつらと書かれているのを見るとゲームのGTAにあるスラムゾーンとイメージがすごく似ていますね
基地問題云々はありますが少なくともアメ女からすれば死活問題でしょうね

Shangrilaのあたりは時代が止まったようでしたね
現代社会の闇。しかしそこでも力強く生きている人が居るから街が成り立ち、その方々が社会を支えているのも事実。
なんとも言えない気持ちになりました。
戦争に負けるということはこういうことなんでしょうね。

女性の悲哀よりも、占領軍の傲慢とエネルギーが強く感じられます。

父親が金武町から､もぅ少し先の本部出身･育ちです｡沖縄の話は昔から､よく聞かされましたが､この場所の話は聞いた事がないですね｡話したくなかったのかは分かりませんが､この場所の動画(映像)を見れて良かったです｡

コザくらいなら夜でも商店街通りに抜けられるからいいけど、金武はあの雰囲気。英語で訳わからん酔っ払いに絡まり、捕まるくらいなら避けて通るな。

何とか拝見させて頂きました。沖縄には金武町のような痛々しくもアメリカ兵向けに相手するという街がやはり存在しますね。
金武町も今は相当マシになってる方だと思います。25年前くらいに自分が車の免許取り立てで金武町の社交街訪れ、友達4人で散策しましたが、とにかく物凄いというか衝撃過ぎて(･･;)
多くのガタイのアメリカ兵が騒がしく、化粧濃く無理しながらも明るく対応合わせて見える女性。
まさにスラム街でした。
また古くから地元に住む高齢女性の言うには、ベトナム戦争中の、50年前くらいは戦場帰りのフラストレーションMax米兵は溢れて街は荒れ汚され、30代女性〜70歳代の女性がアメリカ兵によるレイプ事件も表に出てきてないながら存在するとの事です。
未だに占領下のツメ跡残りますよね、、、
アメ女って性的関係持ってるからアメ女なの？そこは違うと思います。見た目とノリがアメリカ女子だからアメ女だと思ってます。沖縄市GATE2きてみてください。
彼女らは、男に頼まれローンを組んで中古車を買ってあげるのです。
男の任期が終わって国に帰る時、一緒に乗り捨てられるのですけどね。
横須賀、厚木、岩国、佐世保、沖縄…どこも事情は同じですね。

横須賀にもこんなところがあります。
ドブ板通りね。
昔は黒人はドブ板通りには入れなかったそうです。横浜で遊んでたのかな。
ナム戦中の米軍保養地として開発された現在も世界有数の歓楽街タイのパタヤと違ってなんか凋落してる感じ…パタヤは退役後に終の住処として移住してるお爺さん元米軍人も多い。そんなお爺さん日本に退役後住みたいと思わせるほどの魅力が無いのかなとは思う。パタヤの先の米軍基地はベトナム戦争後に米軍は居なくなり、タイ王国空軍／海軍艦隊司令部が置かれている。かつて米軍が使ってた埠頭にはタイ王国海軍の空母が置かれている。
アメリカ本土で軽犯罪を犯して、牢屋に行くか、入隊して沖縄に行くか？レベルの兵隊が多いと聞きました。４０年以上前にアメリカ留学した時に出っ歯のアメリカ人は見たことが無かったけど、仕事で沖縄や岩国の米軍を見ると出っ歯の兵隊が結構いて貧しい育ちなのが想像できました。昔は徴兵制だったのでちゃんとした兵隊もいましたが、徴兵制じゃなくなってからは質がかなり落ちたようですね。会社の上司だった女性は４人子供がいて、４名がそれぞれ違うアメリカ人の父親でした。
この光景を 増税増税を推進し、自分たちはパーティー券で金集めし、支持率は10%のお粗末な仕事しかできないくせに、月給400万も貰う日本の政治家にとくと見てもらいたい。この基地は果たして有事の際、県民をはじめ日本国民を守ってくれるのだろうか？ 戦後78年も経っているのに、日本人はこんなにも肩身の狭い思いをし続けないとといけないのか。

今の若い世代でもアメ女いますね。インスタとかでやたら外国人と繋がりたいふくよかな体型の人マジで多いです。あと昔だとハーニーと呼ばれて米兵の現地妻みたいな扱いを受けた人も多かったみたいです。金武町周辺は子供がハーフのシングルマザーが割といたみたい。横須賀でも似たような話聞いたことあります
