【神戸街歩き】北野 | 絶品ピザと人気のパン屋|神戸モダン建築祭|アンティーク家具と食器|KOBE Modern Architecture Festival

KOBE It’s a sunny autumn day in late November, still warm. Today, I came to Kitano, Kobe. The first place I visited was “Kitano Kobo no Machi”. This is an experiential tourist spot that was created in 1998 using the former Kitano Elementary School, which was closed down. You

Can feel the nostalgia everywhere, from the chimes to the principal’s office, hallways, and stairs. There are souvenir and miscellaneous goods shops, as well as workshops where you can try your hand at making things, so you can buy, eat, and experience Kobe brands.

Unfortunately, it will be closed at the end of this year😿, and will be reborn as a new facility next year. I’m glad I was able to finally visit. When you turn left at the traffic light, you will see the chocolate confectionery shop L’AVENUE. It’s a very popular store, and there’s always a line.

It also makes a great souvenir for chocolate lovers. Today, we will have lunch at “Pizzeria Azzuri” next door. This is also a very popular restaurant, so we recommend making a reservation before visiting. (We couldn’t get in last time due to temporary closure, so we had a revenge success today!) This

Restaurant is certified by the True Neapolitan Pizza Association, and you can enjoy Neapolitan pizza and Southern Italian cuisine. The inside of the restaurant is small, with only a few tables and counter seats, but even when it’s full, it doesn’t feel too small. Former Vissel Kobe player Iniesta has also visited many times.

Pizza is baked in a stone oven. The first dish I excitedly ordered was “Funghi con Formaggi Speciale.” It seems to be the most popular dish. You can taste the deliciousness of mushrooms directly in the chewy dough. The second one is “Margherita di Buffala (margherita with buffalo mozzarella cheese)”.

The combination of high-quality cheese and tomato sauce is exquisite, and you can finish it in no time. My stomach is getting swollen, but I have one more dish. “Fisherman-style seafood risotto.” It’s like a flood of seafood flavor. Eating my fill of delicious food makes me so happy☺Thank

You for the meal! This is a store I want to visit again and again. If you walk to the east side, you will find the “Kobe Muslim Mosque”. It was the first mosque built in Japan in the early Showa period, and is said to be the oldest existing mosque in Japan.

It has an oriental atmosphere. There are several religious temples in Kitano, and you can feel the atmosphere of Kobe, an international city. We took a detour to the popular bakery, “Ca Marche.” The inside of the store is small. It’s filled with the nice smell of bread.

There was also seasonal stollen. I can’t wait for Christmas 🎄… There are rows of delicious-looking breads lined up, and I ca n’t help but wonder… Hmm, which one should I choose… Sa Marsh has a system where you ask the staff to pick up the bread for you.

Today, I bought some mainly hard breads. This is a very popular store, and customers are constantly coming to the store. There are desks and benches in front of the store, where you can eat the bread you have purchased. I’m full after lunch today, so I’m going to enjoy tomorrow’s breakfast with bread 🥖♪ Now, I came to the Kitano Ijinkan area. This year, the “Kobe Modern Architecture Festival” is being held for the first time. Kobe has been the embodiment of Japan’s modernization. The modern architecture that carries on those memories is opened to the public once a year.

“Kobe Overseas Chinese Gathering for the People’s Republic of China”. This foreign house was originally built during the Meiji period as a residence for a German businessman. A colonial-style building with an eye-catching pure white exterior. It’s a very classy building, and it’s a mansion unique to Kobe. Please come inside.

The floor of the balcony is slightly slanted, but this slope was originally created to drain rain as it faced the outside air, and the glass door was added later. I want to relax in such a warm space~☺The reception room has a dignified atmosphere, and there is also a magnificent fireplace.

It has not been open to the public until now, so I’m glad I was able to see it. I bother you. Across the street is the Kitano Medium House (formerly Stadenik House). The cycad in the garden is said to be 120 years old. The exterior is stylish with deep green and orange accents.

This building was built as the private residence of Mr. Stadenik, a foreign trader, and is said to be the oldest foreigner house in Kitano. It is currently being renovated and used as a co-working space and cafe. “Rose Garden” was also exhibited at the Kobe Modern Architecture Festival.

It is one of the eight Tadao Ando buildings scattered throughout Kitano. This is the Shueke Residence. This is an Ijinkan that represents Kitano’s main street, Yamamoto-dori. It was designed by architect Hansel and built in 1896 as his own residence.

This building was also closed to the public for a long time, but the first floor and garden were opened to the public at this Modern Architecture Festival. The walls are decorated with many Western and Japanese paintings. It’s like a museum. Vintage French furniture. It’s unified with a classical interior, which is nice.

Each room is lit with luxurious chandeliers and looks very nice. The ceiling and walls of the Shueke residence were also severely damaged in the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, but a British craftsman stayed overnight to repair it. The dining tableware is also wonderful, giving you a sense of the Western lifestyle of the time.

It’s irresistible for antique lovers! The legs are intricately detailed. The sun shining down on the rocking chair was so warm. I wonder if the people of that time also enjoyed relaxing in the sun here… It’s a very valuable building that allows you to think about life back then.

The Shueke House seen from the garden has an overwhelming beauty that resembles a painting. It seems that the “Montei” next door was also designed by Hansell. Thank you for watching until the end.
