Kenny Roberts, also known as “Kenny”, whose real name is Kenneth Leroy Roberts, is a former motorcycle racing rider from the United States.

It achieved brilliant results, including a second consecutive victory in the AMA Grand National Championship in 1973 and a third consecutive victory in the 500cc class of the 1978 World Road Racing Championship (WGP). He is a legendary racing rider who was very active in the 70’s and 80’s.

Even after retiring from active duty, he continued to lead the Yamaha Works “Team Roberts” in the WGP as a manager, and was active as a coach, winning the championship.

The road named after Kenny is commonly known as “Kenny Road” in Minamiaso. Generally, it is called “Green Road Minamiaso” and its official name is “Aso Southern Wide Area Farm Road”.

His wife is Japanese and was from Kumamoto Prefecture, so she visited here often on private trips and loved the road she toured on those occasions. His favorite part of the route was the approximately 25km winding road that runs along the outer rim of Minamiaso.

Of this, the approximately 15km stretch between Green Road Minami-Aso Observation Deck (next to Komashiro Nishihara Farm) and Green Road Minami-Aso Observation Deck (next to Hotel Greenpia Minami-Aso) is called “Kenny Road”. 　今回は、「ケニーロード」を飛んでみようという企画です。普段は車窓またはオートバイのシートから見るワインディングロードを上空から見たら楽しいのではないかと思い実行してみました。特に圧巻だったのは地蔵峠周辺のワインディングです。ここはライダーを魅了するものがあると思います。
実際に上空からお見せする範囲は、「グリーンロード南阿蘇」と呼ばれている「らくのうマザーズ阿蘇ミルク牧場」周辺から南阿蘇村久石交差点までです。当然、ケニーロードも含まれます。緑豊かな景色をゆっくり堪能できるように複数回に分けて公開したいと思います。お楽しみください。

　気分が明るくなるＢＧＭにのせて、くまモンのふるさと【熊本県】の動画・写真を公開しています。文字による説明・案内のみで人物は一切登場しません。ＢＧＭだけでも楽しめます。
