A Tour of the Kinokawa Service Area/ 紀ノ川サービスエリアのお散歩
Hello everybody and welcome to the kinokawa service area and we are in wakayama city and wakayama prefecture and today we’re going to be walking around checking out this service area this is the kudari side the downward side going away from Tokyo and uh we’re also going to be going across
The highway to the other side uh checking out the nobody side the upward side going toward uh Tokyo so anyway this is a view of the service area from the outside over there of course you can see they’ve got the trash cans and there’s a smoking area in the back and
The toilets are there on the left of course the parking lot is here and uh we’re actually going to be going in uh walking around the inside and then we’re gonna walk out over here on that side and check out that area so let’s go in this is the kinokawa service area
On the kudari side the downward side all right so here is the food court foreign you can see they have a really big TV there with NHK and the information center with traffic information up top lots of vending machines everywhere and they have a bakery here
And I believe this is the famous thing here at the bakery Coffee Land number one most popular so it has kind of a coffee cream like a whipped cream coffee flavored whipped cream on the inside so and it even says they do delivery right they can even deliver it
To you so it’s about five dollars and you get five pieces of bread thing see they have uh coffee shop they have wakayama Ramen what is unique about wakayama Ramen okay they got don’t booty Curry udon soba food stands ice cream and you can see here this wakayama prefecture is famous for mikon
So they have lots of mikon juice mikon would be Mandarin in English so lots lights sunlights of Mandarin flavored souvenirs snacks and drinks here pure juice thank you there it is the Mikan shibori it’s a very fresh juice squeezed yeah there it is and the panda is very popular here in
Wakayama prefecture in shirahama there’s a zoo called Adventure World and uh they have a panda there so everything panda panda panda and then these are potato chips and this is a really popular brand but they take local flavors and add it to the potato chips so this is from
Osaka and of course takoyaki here Nagano wasavi from Nagano wow and uh this is from wakayama tonkotsu Maybe Ramen flavor the wakayama ramen flavor and then this is um Plum yeah plums and then here Mandarin flavored potato chips wow that is really really crazy maybe we’ll have to try it
From awaji Island of course they have onions from Toyama prefecture shrimp and then from Kyoto pickles there you go first lots of wakayama ramen everything is mandarins mandarins everything and then right over here they have a restaurant 10 money kishu which is the old name of uh wakayama prefecture 10 Mari
And I’m sure they have local Specialties from wakayama prefecture all right so let’s uh go outside in the restaurant you can see actually has an outdoor dining area which looks really nice it’s in the shade there’s some more toilets right over there yeah all right so uh over here
They got a smaller parking lot over here but uh this is really convenient especially um if you have a pet or especially a dog because they have a dog run over here and it looks like we’re in luck I see two dogs when you say hello to the dogs and here it is
This is the dog run with all the rules and the etiquette for using it so here they are the little dogs hello hello all right so there it is there’s the best part of the video so uh anyway that is the surface area and then on the back side uh it’s got
Really nice views uh down below and we’re gonna finish the video right there with the really nice views so again we’re in wakayama city and as you can see we’re up in the mountains but uh there’s a valley down below and it’s just really flat land and that’s where the city is
So here it is this is the beautiful view it’s a really beautiful day you can see very far in the distance give you another view without the zoom wakayama is a very beautiful prefecture it’s got a lot of nature and very nice weather so if you’re in the Kansai area and you
Want to get away from the urban areas of Kolbe Osaka Kyoto wakayama is a good place to come to get away from it and lots of beaches and actually probably the most famous beach in Kansai is a shirahama which is just on the same Highway here keep going further south
And uh but yeah there’s also a lot of historical places um kimono okota the old pilgrimage path and uh koyasan which is a world heritage site so a lot of things to do here lots of hot springs and things like that so highly recommended highly recommend visiting uh wakayama prefecture
All right so like I said we’re going to visit uh we’re going to visit both sides of the service area this is the uh kudadi side the downward side going away from Tokyo we’re going to go over to the nobody side the upward side going toward Tokyo
And show you that service area as well so anyway please stay tuned we’ll go over there and check it out okay see ya okay and welcome back we are now on the nobody side of the kinokawa uh service area in wakayama city and wakayama prefecture again the nobody side is
Going up or toward uh Tokyo so this is the other side you can see this uh this building looks a little bit newer than the other side and then just a quick look around again a wakayama prefecture is famous for mandarins so you can see on that
Tower they have a picture of a mandarin and then lots of solar panels here so and then a gas station right over there and then toilets over here so we’re just going to do a very quick look through some of it is similar to the other side so let’s just take a look
Okay okay so you can see they have traffic information up there and of course all the souvenirs from wakayama prefecture so most of these are similar to the other side here’s a dry mandarins so yeah Mandarin everything wakayama Ramen right there amikan I mean a mandarin melon bread looks good and yeah
Different places to get food in the food court here’s the dining area of course they got the pandas here they have a restaurant that’s closed right now maybe they’ll open around dinner time tonight I’m not sure and then just like the other side this side also has a pretty good view
So we’re gonna take a look at the view and then end the video there all right so there it is and you can see the other surface area right there just across the street there’s the view a very beautiful day with the mountains in the distance lots of forests
