It didn’t workout this time…….last day in Toyama and Ishikawa.
Morning, everyone. This is day three of my trip to Toyama and Ishikawa ken This is the third day and I’m going to be heading home today it’s around about 500 kilometers from the hotel where I slept here again, in the ROUTE INN close to Hakusan Phenomenal night. And just reminiscing from yesterday’s ride,
Which was phenomenal. Absolutely amazing. So I’m hoping we can get some good footage from that. Today’s ride as I’m heading home, I’m now at the moment I am in Ishikawa and then I’m crossing back into Toyama and then Toyama. I get off on the motorway and. Then I’ve got
All of these twisty, winding roads. I’m going to be taking all the way down into Matsumoto and then when I get into Matsumoto, which basically just motorway all the way home, hopefully it’s clear enough today when I head into Matsumoto because as soon as you get around the corner on the motorway,
You have a beautiful view of Mount Fuji all the way back to Tokyo, all the direction from Tokyo. So looking forward to this one again. The twisty roads that I’ve elected to ride today, I don’t think I’ve ever been there in that location. If I have. I’m just going to re-enjoy it again.
So yeah, hope that this one’s going to be another great episode. Okay. Thanks, guys. Speak to you soon. Bye bye. Right, let’s get going. And first of all, I need to fill up on gasoline. Gasoline stand just. Just down the road here. I’ve still got 117, but I prefer to fill up
So I don’t have to pull over throughout the day. Not sure why this truck smells like Stroop waffles if you’ve ever had one…..? Must be the catalytic converter…..or something……. but it smells like stroop waffles. Freshily baked stroop waffles this truck This truck, it just started up.
I just saw it pull out on the road. That’s interesting. I get a craving for stroop waffles. Now all of a sudden, I like to start with a nice, easy song. Every time I kick off. Get me going. Probabily one of my favorite songs. Dire Straits – A Ticket to Heaven
And in half an hour, 45 minutes from now, I could be playing METAL or ROCK Music anything. But this is how I like to start it. Ease in to the ride………………….. 82 kilometers straight, and then I head off. I think I’m going now direction to TOYAMA 23 degrees this morning.
And there is an old. Windmill, as I mentioned, the ride today up through the mountains. I’ve got a little body warmer in the back for when I do get up high in altitude and it starts getting to cool. I can just whack that on to protect my chest,
Work up a little bit of sweat loading up the motorbike because it’s like I said, it’s 23 degrees. So it’s nice to cool down a little bit TOYAMA 65 kilometers. TOYAMA You see the mountains are coming look at that amazing Reaching all the way………………………. Actually some snow on them already see snow caps.
Wow. TATEYAMA see over there. Snow on top of those peaks. there….. and hopefully you can see that beautiful. I definitely won’t be going up that high but that’s gorgeous. Up ahead. There it says, national park. TATEYAMA am I heading there……..?? straight. I didn’t know this route was going to go through
The National park. Okay, guys. So my plan was to take this route all the way up to the top of the mountains, which would have been the lake. God, I forget the name, but I’ll put the name in here in the video. This is what you come across. Unfortunately, at times in Japan
That roads are closed, shut down for maintenance or whatever. Now I’m here, I’m actually thinking I’ve I’ve reached the other side to the top, to the summit already last year when I did the episode of Matsumoto. So, yeah, I’ll just have to keep an eye on this and come back someday
Once it’s opened up again. And all of the road works have been prepared. A bit of a shame, but then again we learn. So that cuts really into my episode for this. Wether or not I’m going to add this a separate episode or not because I want to be home on time tonight.
And by the looks of it, it’s about 440 kilometers to get home, which would, uh, allow me to be home around about 10 to 5 tonight. And I think that’s pretty much all motorway heading home. So not much we can do about that. Yeah, that’s unfortunate that I’m not going to be able
To get up that path. I wanted to go up. Apparently, it’s one of the best roads in Japan. It’s highly rated that pass. I could probably try and find a different route from here out, but that would really eat into time and I want to be home on time tonight.
Certain things that I have to take care of that can’t be helped…. For me it doesn’t matter. I’m on my motorbike for the next 5 or 6 hours got my music playing. Yeah, I could risk it getting up there, but at the same time I could get like halfway up
There, spend an hour, 2 hours, halfway way up and boom, come across another road closed. So unfortunately, I don’t have that time tonight. Like last night. It didn’t matter what time I got in the hotel. What I want it. Like I said, I want to be home on time tonight. Probably means
It’s going to send me down the CHUO highway, but I prefer to go via NAGANO So I’m not going to do that to highway a day like today even on a Saturday is a nightmare. You could be stuck in I made it…. You could be stuck in traffic.
I wouldn’t be stuck, but you’d be lane splitting in in traffic for like, oh, I’ve seen 40, 50 kilometers and it’s fine by me. I can do it. it’s just that…. you get so knackered. I prefer to take the JOETSU Highway home which I can virtually dream these days. It’s a nice
Rest area on the way home as well. I think I’ll do that if my. NAVI wants to take me down. the CHUO NAH….not going down the CHUO…. the CHUO expressway. I’ll take the JOETSU. I guess it’s the JOETSU. or is it the……..JOSHINETSU…… and this is going to take me a little bit north
So it’s going to take me around the mountains. so I got to go up north a little bit and take the road back home. So this takes me about 100 kilometers straight. And then I’ve got to get around those mountains. On the right hand side. Look at this guy…… NIGATA NIGATA
Epic scenery here…….. windy as hell but epic scenery WOW !! whenever a sports car comes past me here in Japan like this, like beautiful BMW up in front of me and then they go shit behind another car at a lower speed. I’m always thinking
Is that our friends in BLACK and WHITE up there There’s a lot of unmarked. Cars here in Japan, which are Toyota Crowns White ones, silver ones, black ones. And you can typically see on the roof, you see the bulge. That’s where the the lights, the flashing light. They pop it up
If they want to pull you over. Usually the back windows are tinted, packed of gear in the back. That’s where I stopped when I came up here. I remember that place down there. Nice to see it from this side. Just cross into the the NAGANO Prefecture And it is such a beautiful prefecture
Nature is a beauty…… So I’m on the other side of the mountains now guys… made a big loop around getting close to Tokyo again. that’s for sure….. traffic. “ALFA ROMEO”
今回はダメだったなぁ……。
On my last day of my tour around Toyama and Ishikawa, I came up against a roadblock and had to make new plans.
富山と石川を巡るツアーの最終日、予定通り進まず新しい計画を立てなければなりませんでした。

Toyama, Ishikawa, Niigata, Nagano, they are nice places in this country to tour in with their unique attractiveness. I think you are making the most of it. It’s nice to see you enjoying riding in Japan. Thanks for the nice video again✌️
Fab video my friend, such a shame the forest roads were closed but loving the scenery as you headed back down the coast… That’s a decent amount of miles in day – my kind of riding! 😊
I ride that route from Toyama to Matsumoto via Hirayu a few times per year. There are a few alternate routes, and all of them are fabulous.
Thanks for the informative video. 👍
What Nav apps do you use on your phone to travel in Japan & it's replicated on the larger screen. Wonderful trips you are undertaking.
I love these videos. No drama or conflict. Just pure enjoyment. Thanks mate.
