今回の「ぼっち旅」は伊豆半島西側中央部にある、
夕陽のまち、夕陽日本一宣言の町、ガラス文化の里、でもある「西伊豆町」。
リアス式海岸のような海岸地形で複雑で小島が多い。黄金崎や堂ヶ島等の景勝地として知られ、一帯の海岸は「西伊豆南海岸」として国指定の名勝に指定されており、富士箱根伊豆国立公園の一部にも指定されている。気候は温暖な海洋性気候で黒潮の影響を強く受けており平均気温は16℃程。
温泉を中心とした観光業や漁業が中心産業で、田子地区は鰹節加工業が昭和にかけて栄え、鰹の町としても知られており、今回紹介できなかったが冬の保存食として「しおかつお」が昔から作られ、正月の縁起の良い食べ物として知られ、最近では全く添加物が含まない自然食品として見直され注目を浴びている。造船関連業は多い。また、田子出身者で有名なのは、東洋水産の創業者「森和夫」である。　
海のイメージが強い「西伊豆町」だが、山側に足を踏み入れれば急登な山岳地帯が多く、西天城高原の標高は約800mと、ユネスコ認定世界ジオパークのジオサイトが多く存在する。

収録前日まで、天気は冬の配置で気温は低く風が強かった。今回の旅のメインイベントとして堂ヶ島マリンさんの青の洞窟遊覧船に乗りたくて、天気図とにらめっこしつつ収録日を検討して冬の配置が緩み風が弱くなる日に決行したが、残念ながら風向きが悪かったようで波自体は高くなかったが終日欠航でした。（淡い希望を持って午前午後と2回立寄ったがダメでしたw）

オススメの観光シーズンは、やはり３月から11月ですかね、青の洞窟「天窓洞」も太陽が高い方が映えるし、三四郎島のトンボロ現象も時間（大潮の干潮）をしっかり合わせればとても魅力的。では何故12月に収録したのかと聴かれれば、美味しい旬の「イカ様丼」が食べたかったから!と、ベスト観光シーズンだと人が多過ぎで収録に人が映り過ぎる為です。m(__)m　自己満の拘りでスミマセン。

沢田公園の露天風呂は、ずっと入って居たかったなぁ～♪お陰様で半日以上ポカポカしてました。先々週流行り病に感染し後遺症に悩まされており、温泉でこの日はかなり癒やされました。1週間ほど湯治したいって思いました!
