I love Kanazawa and there is so much to do and enjoy there, that I would definitely recommend to stay there for a least 2 nights, and not only visit the city on a day trip from Tokyo

Oh, you should travel to Noto penisular next, the views are amazing. I was in Ishikawa prefecture for 1.5 weeks in Dec/ Jan this yr 🙂

Was there this past month… nice one day getaway to visit Kanazawa!
Over 3 hours from Toyko and $$$ in ticket prices, bit hard for a day trip. Perhaps doable with a JR pass. Please focus on some more day trips from Toyko, 2 hours each way might be more practical. I'm coming in 8 weeks!!
