Photo by #CanonExplorerOfLight @darrellgulin: “A cowgirl and her horse at sunset as she rides along a ridgeline. To capture the silhouetted image at sunset I had to expose the colorful sky. Using the histogram, I made sure not to blow out the high lights by checking that on the right-hand side of the histogram.
For this silhouette to really work the rider needed to be right on the edge of the ridge in order to see the legs of the horse. I took a number of images and looked for a separation of the horse’s legs so you can see all four of them. Notice also the hand and arm of the rider holding the reins is separated from the body.”
