A four-layer fabric was typical for down wear. But we worked with Toray to develop a special fabric to create Ultra Light Down with a two layer structure that has an unprecedented light weight. The key is a fabric woven with fine, high-density nylon yarn approximately one tenth as thick as a human hair. Furthermore, this relaxed jacket, created anew based on research, is softer but just as warm. In addition to being light weight, it’s comfortable, warm, and unlikely to lose feathers. It’s a good balance that gives you everything you want.
