Photo by #CanonExplorerOfLight @simonbruty: “My first plan to create this image was to lie down next to the jump, and have the clear blue sky as the perfect backdrop. However, someone nearby quietly reminded me that a 1,000-lb horse could cause some damage so I set up a remote camera instead. The blue in the lower pole added to the graphic edges of the image so I placed the camera in the middle, focusing on the place between the top poles where I thought the horse would be at its highest point in the jump. The shutter speed was important to freeze the image so I chose a 1600th of a second because the timing with remote cameras is key. I stood not too far away so I could see the exact moment I needed to fire the camera.”
