Find out what’s in #CanonExplorerOfLight @peter_hurley’s camera bag!
“As I took this shot of my gear I caught myself thinking about how much I value each item and the importance of its use in my work. It all starts with my camera body and goes from there. My body of choice that I just can’t put down is the Canon EOS R5. Every other item shown supports the imagery that I create with that sucker!
My two EOS R cameras are used for all my behind-the-scenes stills and video as well and 2nd shooting bodies that I love having on hand.
As I build out my RF lens lineup I wanted to cover the gamut that I shoot, which is really just about everything these days. I’m nuts about the quality of the images that I get out of each one of them. Having a few that are able to open up to f1.2 is spectacular for those times I want a beautifully shallow depth of field. I’m really set up with a number of choices to pull from on any given day from the RF15-35mm F2.8L IS USM and up to the RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM.
For my headshot work that I shoot about 90% of the time I’m a big fan of shooting around 92mm for some reason. My lens of choice in most cases is the RF70-200mm and when I’m on the road and only want to chuck one lens in my bag it’s the RF24-105mm. I will widen out to 85mm for a slightly shallower depth of field on occasion due to the brilliance of what the RF85mm F1.2 L USM DS lens does for my images in that depth.
I feel like Canon has given me the tools to create the images that make me want to yell SHABANG nearly every capture! Not sure what my clients would think of that, but the excitement for my work is always paramount and Canon has been a huge part of that.”
