“Light is such a dominant force in the making of a photograph. The angle, the color, the direction all swirl around the photographer as they make their creative decisions about how to best utilize it in the photograph. The sculler carrying his shell down the dock to the water was photographed at 5:30 am, right about the time the sun is poking itself off of the horizon and into the sky. That early morning alarm seems worth the effort when nature gives you a beautiful sun-lighted start to the day.”
