As a former marching band member, it was great to be around fellow musicians who understand the importance of entertainment and music skills. While making this photo, the moment wasnʼt lost on me that a Black woman was the band director. Tomisha Brock (center) was the first woman to serve as band director at Clark Atlanta University and the first woman band director in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Having the chance to hang with them for three days is something Iʼll never forget.”
