This Island Has Some of the Most Scenic Roads on Earth
Today’s drive starts high in the São Vicente valley. We navigate the steep, narrow backroads of Ginjas before descending toward the coast. The views from the top are some of the best on the north side, looking right over the mountain peaks and down toward the Atlantic.
The route takes us past the massive green cliffs of Fajã da Areia and through one of those old, dark tunnels where the mountain water actually leaks right onto the road. We eventually make our way into Ponta Delgada and finish by climbing up to the quiet, hidden village of Lombada just as the sun breaks through the clouds.

e cheias de curvas, onde a atenção tem que ser dobrada. Passei pela ilha a caminho do Brasil, mas não aportamos po-
que não tinhamos autorização para tal, mas foi aí na ilha que comi a primeira banana, já que no continente naquela épo-
ca, 1959 era coisa rara. Senti falta de informações básicas como por exemplo, ao entrar na "estrada da 2ª Lombada" a
falta de aviso "rua sem saida" isso evitaria de se entrar na mesma e voltar. Aqui onde moro interior de São Paulo, as ruas
tem essa informação. Abçs e obrigado pelo passeio.
