That dome was one of the first things we saw from the roof our Hotel just off Campo de Fiori in mid December some years ago, so we walked over to the basilica and luckily a choir was in rehearsal for Christmas and the atmosphere was magical.

Совершенно невозможная, потрясающая своими грандиозными размерами и сложнейшей архитектурой базилика. Умопомрачительный, сложнейший декор – мрамор, фрески, позолота!
Даже представить не могу, кто бы это создавал и каким образом. Но, конечно, не руками людей и ручными инструментами.
