Nestled deep in the mountains of Shirakawa, the gateway to Tohoku,
Kashi Onsen Ryokan Daikokuya is a historic hidden hot spring in Fukushima, Japan.
Its most iconic feature is the “Giant Rock Bath”,
a legendary bath that has remained unchanged for over 150 years.
Hot spring water flows naturally from beneath a massive rock formation,
preserved carefully through generations.
This ryokan offers two different natural hot spring sources
and four unique baths, each with its own atmosphere:
The historic Giant Rock Bath
Sakura-no-Yu, drawing from the same source
An indoor bath fed by a second spring
A tranquil open-air bath surrounded by nature
Loved by Lord Matsudaira Sadanobu of Shirakawa in the Edo period,
