  2. Ph level of 9.3? That is in the higher side of alkalinity..no wonder the hot spring water is like lotion. Thanks for this option.. was actually looking for ryokan options around Iwate/Morioka, since I haven't stayed overnight yet in Iwate. I will visit Iwate early April for Geibikei Gorge, but as a day trip from Matsushima Ichinobo while room and ryokan facilities are being cleaned from 11am to 3pm.. one issue I have is the ryokans along the most scenic part of Sanriku Coast, like Nagisatei Taro-an, where the jagged cliffs are, do not use natural hot spring water in their baths as they are far from the source…and the nearest hot spring town Ofunato onsen.. the sea views there are not as spectacular sa Sanriku coast.
