The Long & Winding Road – Ehime

Project 47: Episode 11 — Ehime Prefecture

In this episode of Project 47, I ride into Ehime Prefecture to begin my journey across the island of Shikoku.

Ehime tests me immediately. A fast-moving, unpredictable storm front traps me in my tent for nearly 24 hours — heavy rain, gale-force winds, and nowhere to go.

But this region of Japan gives back just as quickly.

Through unexpected encounters and quiet acts of kindness, I’m reminded why I’m doing this journey in the first place. Just as I begin to lose direction, a stranger steps in — and with a single act of generosity, momentum returns.

Ehime is not defined here by spectacle or scale, but by atmosphere — coastal wind, mountain silence, aging machines, old stories, and the people who carry them.

What begins as a test of endurance becomes a meditation on momentum — how easily it’s lost, and how unexpectedly it can return.

This is not a travel vlog.
It is a cinematic road documentary — a study of place, patience, and the moments that change direction.
