九州初のサーフィン！？装備不足で断念（宗像市釣川河口） SURFING動画あり
2024年3月YARIKIRIちゃんねるは本州山口県下関から関門海峡トンネルを抜けて九州に上陸。北九州市、そして福岡市と九州を反時計回りに回ることに。
In March 2024, the YARIKIRI Channel crossed the Kanmon Strait Tunnel from Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture and entered Kitakyushu, then planned to tour Kyushu in a counterclockwise route, heading on to Fukuoka.
九州地方に入り最初の道の駅。北九州市から福岡市内にむかう途中の宗像（むなかた）市。道の駅「むなかた」では、我らの旅の友！道の駅旅案内（九州・沖縄版）をピックアップ。 YARIKIRIの旅は、ほとんどこの道の駅旅案内のマップを参照しながらルートを決めているので、九州に入りようやくこの道の駅旅案内を入手できて一安心。
The first roadside station (michi-no-eki) after entering Kyushu was in Munakata City, on the way from Kitakyushu to Fukuoka. At the roadside station “Munakata”, we picked up our trusty travel companion: the Roadside Station Travel Guide (Kyushu & Okinawa edition). The YARIKIRI journey is mostly planned by referencing the maps in this guide, so finally getting it in Kyushu was a relief.

宗像市釣川（つりかわ）河口
We immediately checked out a surfing spot: Tsurikawa River Mouth, Munakata City.
波！良いではないですか！日曜日の朝ということもあり、大勢のサーファーがすでに入水。
Waves! Not bad at all! Being a Sunday morning, a lot of surfers were already in the water.
久しぶりのサーファーMOTTIの腕が鳴る！
It had been a while, and surfer Motti was itching to ride!
が！が！が！が！
But! But! But!
九州とはいっても日本海の3月！水温が冷たすぎる・・・（というか、すでにフルスーツにブーツ姿のサーファーさんたちを見て、海水に触れることもしなかった、根性なしのMotti。
Even though it’s Kyushu, it’s March in the Sea of Japan! The water was way too cold… (In fact, seeing surfers already wearing full wetsuits and boots, Motti didn’t even dare touch the water—what a wimp.)
プラス釣川（つりかわ）河口は、メローな波で初心者から上級者まで楽しめる・・・・とどこかに書いてあった・・・けれど。
Plus, the Tsurikawa River Mouth was supposed to have mellow waves suitable for beginners to advanced surfers… or so it said somewhere.
3月の釣川（つりかわ）河口の波は万年てけてけサーファーのMottiにとっては、まぁまぁパワフル。 やっぱり根性なしのMottiは結局波とサーファーを眺めて楽しんだのでした。笑
But in March, the waves at Tsurikawa River Mouth were fairly powerful for a perpetually “easy-going” surfer like Motti. In the end, the wimp that he is, Motti just enjoyed watching the waves and the surfers instead 😂
