国境を越える方法:タイ🇹🇭チェンコーン — ラオス🇱🇦フアイサイ 4K

Exploring the laid back riverside town of Chiang Khong, in Thailand, the Seeker notes the changes from some years back that have turned a once dusty & tiresome river boat crossing town into a cosy, comfortable, yet charmingly rustic destination of its own where one could quite happily chill out for any number of days watching the Mekong river flow by.
In this episode of Seeker of the Way we check out how to cross the border in both directions safely & avoid scams along the way & as always we have quite the adventure doing so.
Once across the border we explore the French colonial delights of sleepy little Houay Xay, a place which has also evolved into a comfy backpacker haven of its own where one could happily spend many days relaxing by the river sipping a cold drink watching the glorious sunsets. There we find something locals keep to themselves as a bit of an insider secret. Check out this episode to find out exactly what!

Border Crossing Tips:
Note that coming from the Laos direction into Thailand it is recommended to carry the “three proofs” during times when immigration crack downs occur (usually during times of political upheaval), namely; 20,000 baht in cash, an onward flight ticket, & proof of accommodation in Thailand. If entering Thailand it is a 25 minute walk to the highway which goes between Chiang Rai & Chiang Khong where you can easily flag down buses that frequently & cheaply travel between the two places to avoid over priced tuk tuks. If coming from Chiang Rai on a bus to Chiang Khong you can use your map app to see where to get off to walk to the border to save a bit of money. Hitchhiking works well also. If crossing the border into or out of Laos on weekends or outside normal business hours there is an “over-time” fee of about $1 USD charged by immigration (which many people consider a scam, though I’m starting to think it is an official fee as it’s applied at all crossings consistently – even though at times I have avoided paying it by claiming to have no extra cash).

  1. Awesome video man. When you border cross do they really check that you have a hotel accommodation ? I’m old school getting hotels calling if they have a room or walking in to see the room before booking I don’t trust online bookings lol will a bus ticket out of country work as well or does it have to be flight out? I might look into eSIM im constantly changing sims every country I go haha
