Setouchi Harbor Town Walk at Dawn | Amami Oshima, Japan
Dawn blue hour walk along canals through Setouchi, a small harbor town on southern coast of Amami Oshima Island in southern Japan. I started this morning on the bridge over two canals through town with the sound of lapping water and beautiful birdsong. My idea was to walk up one of the canals with a foggy mountain backdrop and then meander back down the other to the port. Along the way we get a look at some quiet neighborhoods and meet a friendly cat.
Amami is an island in Kagoshima Prefecture, sitting between the islands of Yakushima and Okinawa further south. I spent a few days here walking, exploring, and snorkeling, so expect a few more Amami walks and scenery ahead.

Ambient Exploration: Great early morning canal walk in Amami Oshima Harbor town. The canal walk was refreshing to see and very different from those of Oxford, England. The neighborhoods are quiet at that hour with no one else walking around. The sweet cat allowed you to pet it that was a privilege! What a cute and calm kitties 😻
so two things iv noticed while having my own "wanderlust" over the years . 1.cats know good people,you must have a very calm aura lol. 2. you wont see a single cat out and about if theres something "sketchy" going ondownetc . sorta a "street smart" intuition thing that i notice when walking through unfamiliar areas, usaully if the kitties are out its pretty safe out ,they dont stick around for the "crazyness" lol
