⁴ᴷ Kochi: Nakamura Station (高知県: 中村駅) – Japan Walking Tour (January, 2026)

I’ve decided to take an off-season trip back to my hometown in Kobe, using it as a starting point for a journey all the way around Shikoku. After traveling through Takamatsu, Kochi City, and Susaki, I’ve finally arrived in Shimanto City. It can be a bit confusing for travelers, as there’s both a “Shimanto City” and a neighboring “Shimanto Town.”

After checking into my hotel, I headed to Nakamura Station to begin filming. Right as I arrived, I saw a highway bus departing for Kobe. It’s impressive to see such convenient direct access from the heart of Shimanto back to the Kansai region.

Being a Sunday night, the city center was quiet with very few people around. However, once I crossed the Ushiro River toward the outskirts, the roadside shops were buzzing with activity. It was a walk that really highlighted the contrast between the calm of the station area and the lively suburban developments.
