oh, looks so yummy, im not very good at baked and fried bread types, i can make a good box cake mix into cake with frosting. and fresh warm bread. but the next day its usually kinda dry and not as tasty. but i try ive been getting better at fluffy fried indian bread. for fried tacos, i use that for alot of things. still cant make doughnuts. but i can make a good banana bread.

说句实话,现在的早市上真正的当地特色美食确实不多了,大部分都是鱼目混杂。没甚意思。
I'm a shanghainese who came to the US to study and immigrated after earning doctorate. Many of this reminded me of when I was growing up. I used to run down 5 stairs to get soy milk, fried breadsticks and pan-fried pancake at the street corner every morning for my grandparents, my parents and I (3 generations lived under 1 roof). Unfortunately finding my childhood memories became harder and harder, as almost all of this has disappeared from shanghai. And I am increasingly disappointed when I go back as my relatives tries to impress me with fancy and expensive Chinas-western fusion food that I don't really care for. I'm glad they still exist in Xi An.
