⁴ᴷ Hyogo: Himeji Station (兵庫県: 姫路駅) – Japan Walking Tour (January, 2026)
I’ve decided to take an off-season trip back to my hometown in Kobe, using the opportunity to kick off a journey all the way around Shikoku. My route took me from Aichi through Shiga and Kyoto to Hyogo Prefecture. After a brief stay at my parents’ house in Kobe, I headed through Akashi to Himeji, where I’m currently walking around the station area.
It has been since October 2024 since I was last here, and the town itself hasn’t changed much. However, being a Wednesday night, the streets are fairly quiet—in the entertainment district, there seem to be more touts than actual customers. One thing that stood out this time was the apparent increase in “girls’ bars,” with several women standing along the sidewalks holding signs showing their prices.
