I Visited China’s Most Dangerous Water Town (People Still Live Here)

This ancient water town in China has lived side-by-side with water for thousands of years. From the layout of the streets to daily routines, everything here is shaped by the rhythm of the tides.

Sitting beside one of the most fierce and unpredictable rivers on Earth, this town has learned to adapt rather than fight the water. Locals still wash vegetables in the canals, move goods by boat, and plan their lives around the rise and fall of the tide — just as they did in ancient times.

While many water towns have become tourist attractions, this one remains deeply lived in. Water isn’t a backdrop here — it controls the town, the architecture, and the way people survive.

This is life in a place where the tide decides everything.

  1. China never left its ancient culture behind. It serves as the foundation that built its modern great civilization.

  2. Actually, western media says China stole the canal design from Panama.
They said China of the future stole time travel tech from the west of the future, travelled into the past and built the canal.
Just like China of today…. Chinese time travelers stole all the hi-tech stuff, and AI, and brought it back to the present to help develop China for the past 40 years.
However, those same time traveling thieves messed up the landing locale, and gave the iPhone design to Steve Jobs by mistake.

  3. Hai Ning seems so underrated, a Chinese literature work called The legend of the Book and Sword (书剑恩仇录) which is officially called The Book and the Sword was translated by Graham Earnshaw and published by the OUP, Oxford University Press, the birthplace of the protagonist took this city as background and the story went on. It described an anarchist body called Red Flower Society, they fought against the Early Qing Dynasty and intended to overthrow them to reinstate the Ming Dynasty, it was also filled with essence of allegiance and romance. By the way, one rookie mistake always made by Chinese, the spelling, acient, the first n was omitted. I cannot believe it is done by you guys😂. Anyways, this is interesting.

  4. Appreciate the effort that goes into such an information dense vlog. Really kept my interest. Thank you.

  5. Words cannot explain how much I hate Confucius. Sure, some of his beliefs are common sense but everything else was insane. He’s the reason why East Asia became extremely misogynistic and stayed extremely misogynistic, except for China because China went about a dynasty and more recently a decade hating him. He was never for equality. He despised women and preached that women are only good for breeding, shouldn’t learn academics, and some more extreme things. He was basically the OG alpha male podcaster. Confucius beliefs are still very strong in Japan and South Korea and they are absolutely horrible to their women.

  6. I like your honest and simple narration of your travel journey. Keep your videos coming. Enjoy your travel .

  7. Since you guys are already in Zhejiang province, why not visit Linhai in Taizhou and check out the Jiangnan Great Wall? Although it’s different from the Great Wall in Beijing, it has its own unique charm. There’s also a floating bridge and some beautiful ancient streets to explore. It’s definitely a place worth spending one or two days in.(btw its my hometown so it would be fantastic if you visit there!)

  8. I really enjoy your vlogs guys! I can't wait for the leather town vlog ohh Reanne's favourite shopping 😂😂😂

  9. This video is filled with a strong festive atmosphere. Before the Spring Festival arrives, Chinese people will prepare a large amount of traditional home-cooked delicacies with their families. On New Year's Eve, they will enjoy these foods with their family members and also give these foods to relatives who visit during the Spring Festival. Preparing traditional Chinese delicacies before the Spring Festival is a common memory for many Chinese people.
