Starting next a tea plantation nearby the Enrinji temple, we’ll wander through historic streets lined with esteemed tea shops, where the subtle scent of roasting tea leaves fills the air.
We’ll explore the serene grounds of Uji Shrine and the adjacent Sawari-no-michi path through magnificent torii, and uncover hidden pathways leading to smaller, equally enchanting shrines.

As we delve deeper, you’ll experience the unique atmosphere of a town whose life is intertwined with the meticulous art of tea cultivation and preparation. From the vibrant green of matcha to the calm ambiance of temple gardens, Uji is a feast for the senses.
Join me as we explore Byodoin Omotesando street, Ajirogi no Michi, Uji Park (Tachibanajima Island), soaking in the sights, sounds, and the distinct “Aroma of Ancient Uji,” culminating our walk near the Mimurotoji temple and garden, that will be covered with a bonus video in the future.
