Kofu Station Night Walk (Winter): Heading to Kansai Before a Snow Forecast

I’m heading back to my family home in Kobe on a slightly delayed visit—and while I’m at it, I’m setting off on a trip to circle Shikoku.

My first stop is Kofu Station in Yamanashi Prefecture. There was a snow forecast for the latter half of the three-day weekend, which worried me a bit, but I decided to take it as it comes and head for Kansai via a route that crosses the mountains.

It’s been about a year and a half since I last walked around the area near Kofu Station. Last time it was summer, but this time I’m seeing the city in winter. Since it was two days before Coming-of-Age Day, I felt like I noticed more young people than usual—though I’m not completely sure. And while it wasn’t as busy as in summer, there were still quite a few street promoters standing around, giving the night a lively, local feel.
