China’s Secret Sanctuary Hanging atop a Cliff: How Did They Build This?
How were these sacred sites built on sheer cliffs hundreds of years ago?
This time, I came to Yichang in Hubei Province, to a place called Wenfo Mountain. It lies deep in a remote area. At the top of the mountain, there is a sacred site unbelievably built right on the edge of a cliff. At the foot of the mountain, there is an ancient village that you can reach by passing through a cave. However, only three or four elderly people still live there. The place has almost been forgotten by the world. They warned me not to go up to the buildings, because no one has lived there for a long time and they are badly deteriorated.
Halfway up the mountain, there is a small temple where only one nun lives. The sacred site at the very top is quite large, but this time I did not meet the abbot. Instead, I saw a notice saying that he was going to practice “bigu” for 21 days, consuming almost no food or water. That sounds unbelievable. Is it really possible? What are the true limits of the human body?

Если это было построено 800лет назад,т.е.где то около 1200г.в средние века, до сих пор стоит на обрыве и еще простоит, в Европе тоже строили замки на скалах, похоже это была другая цивилизация , у кот.были свои секреты строительства. А какая интересная черепица из бамбука на крыше храма! И храм не заброшен, там очень чисто и видны подношения к статуям -цветы, фрукты, благовония. Очень было бы интересно побеседовать с монахами про их храм и божеств которым они поклоняются, интересно что везде во внутренних двориках есть статуя драконьей черепахи в бассейне и рядом "жемчужина"в лотосе, не во всех китайских буддистких храмах есть такие черепахи, это уже интересное отличие.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Amazing place. Fasting is great for health. People can actually fast longer than even 21 days. I tend to believe occasional 2-3 day fasts are enough for most. And anything over 7 should be supervised.
