And our mission in every road adventure around Thailand is finding a noodle/rice shop, a local place that only local people visit and love. and this beef noodle restaurant is called “ก๋วยเตี๋ยวน้ำข้น บ้านหน้าถ้ำ” which translates as “Thick Noodle Soup at Ban Na Tham” Ban Na Tham is this area around.. this little neighborhood. and local people love beef noodles here.. Here we’ve got beef meatballs, sliced beef.. a little bit chewy but delicious. and this big bowl cost only 50 Baht ordinary bowl cost 40 Baht and a big one cost 50 Baht. And as you can hear, this place is located right along the road.. The key ingredient of a road adventure – finding a local noodle shop! This is beautiful.. Lots of vegetables in it.. This is a perfect opportunity to have a good day! Pretty generous portion for 50 Baht.. Really? There are elephants here? What is this place? Hello, is this a hotel or a coffee shop? It’s a resort and a cafe all in one! Ah, really? Is this a new resort? Yes, it’s a new resort. Because I didn’t know about this place. It just opened on the 1st. Oh really? Today is the 1st day? I really can’t believe it! And this is the busiest cafe of the area and the highest area with homestay.. That’s where the traffic jam is.. But to me this place is absolutely perfect.. with such a massive balcony.. there are two balconies here.. and here comes the sunset.. I just ordered a sunset for this beautiful shot! to show you the magical moment of finding the right accommodation here in Mae Kampong! Sun is going down and it’s 4 pm! I really was surprised when they said that the price of this house for one night is just 1,000 Baht for one person. Because Mae Kampong is not really cheap, and you gotta pay 700-800 Baht a night for a room with fan. without air conditioning.. if there is air conditioning in the room – the price is higher. And this is just an extremely nice house, not even a bungalow! A place with jacuzzi and two air conditioners.. with special rooftop balcony.. and it doesn’t look like a 1000 Baht a night. it looks like 2,500-3,000 Baht a night. But 1,000 Baht for one person – it is a really democratic price! Feel excited! it is called “Chayapol Resort” There’s a QR code to add Line.. and a phone number.. They speak English little bit, so you can easily book your room! Don’t know why, but this area around Mae Kampong village reminds me of some ancient Japanese villages in the old movies.. all those two story houses made of wood.. and really narrow roads between them.. yeah, not easy to drive a car here.. not easy to find a parking space for a car here.. even for motorbike is a little bit complicated.. Amazing feeling.. Doesn’t feel like you’re in Thailand at all! Especially with this with this cool air.. chill air.. because now it is around 20 degrees Celsius. But while you’re walking up and down, you don’t feel cold at all! Mae Kampong.. “Mae” in Thai language means “Mother” and also “River”. This is that “Mae” – the stream that runs through the entire village. And the word “Kampong”, if I remember correctly, is the name of flower. Amazing atmosphere here! Very strong ginger drink.. and it is very hot! Mae Kampong village was founded over 100 years ago by people from Doi Saket area in Chiang Mai. Initially they were looking for a fertile land for cultivation of tea.. to grow tea here.. Usually area along rivers along canals has fertile land, good for farming. So they settled here.. However later the village was transformed into a tourist destination.. with a sustainable model of tourism/ecotourism.. and it works well – place is really popular.. there is lots of delicious foods here.. and I feel incredibly hungry.. so we need to taste something as soon as possible.. because this ginger tea was not enough! Hello! Are these eggs? Yes, they’re all eggs.. How much is each piece? One piece, twenty-five baht. Okay, I’ll take one piece. Which one you like? Just any.. the one that is still hot, please.. This is Bua Loy dessert. “Bua” means “Lotus” and “Loy” means “to float”.. “Floating Lotus” Traditional Thai dessert loved by Thais a lot! The broth of coconut milk together with these little balls made of rice flour. Also you can add some toppings inside – peanuts, conserved fruits and a soft boiled egg.. egg, coconut, rice flour, conserved fruits.. Nevertheless, it tastes delicious and you gotta eat it hot! Beautiful! 50 Baht for this beautiful portion.. and as you can see it’s a quite popular place. “Bua Loy” Another thing about “Bua Loy”.. Do you remember hard raining, storm and flooding which happened in September-October this year? This storm was named “Bua Loy” for some reason.. don’t know why.. But yeah “Bua Loy”has a very destructive power.. Once you tried it – you will fall in love with it instantly! Bua Loy is delicious! Yes, that’s right. It’s delicious. Smell and good tasty! Yep! wow Amazing service here on the roof! Alone in the silence! Amazing! And I’m really surprised to see that they’ve got the most delicious dipping sauce in Thailand! Dipping sauce for Suki “MAIPHED MAIAROI” Oh that’s good.. it’s been a long time! Alright.. how does it work?
