【6泊7日宮城一周⑤】1泊2食8800円の奥松島ホテル!松島で食と泊を楽しむ旅【松島・東松島旅】

On my last trip, I stopped off at the Minami Sanriku Roadside Station, where I enjoyed beef tongue and eel at a ryokan in Tome , visited the birthplace of Shotaro Ishinomori, and ate Tome’s specialty, fried gluten rice bowl . On my way from Tome to Matsushima, I stopped off at the roadside station “Johin no Sato” in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture. Johin is written as “Jobon” but pronounced ” Jobon.” It’s a large roadside station with everything from a direct sales store to a cafe and hot spring. The direct sales store even has a free foot bath, and I bought some souvenirs. Today, I’m on the Sanriku Expressway again, heading towards Sendai. I get off at Naruse Oku Matsushima IC, heading out of the town of Matsushima , and park my car in the tourist parking lot. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the coastal road, but it’s free to use. As you’d expect from Matsushima, a tourist destination representing Miyagi, it’s bustling with people even on a weekday. At the Matsushima Kamaboko Honpo Main Store in Matsushima Town, Miyagi County, Miyagi Prefecture, I ‘ve always wanted to try the “Sasakama Hand-Baked Experience.” The three key elements to deliciously baking a kamaboko are: enthusiasm, heat, and patience. “Sasakamaboko” 300 yen First, secure a spot “Place it in the center of the grill and it will brown all over” Oh, it’s browning … not yet It’s puffed up quite a bit, I think it’s good now I think I did a good job It’s crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, delicious! There’s something really different about freshly baked food – thank you for the meal! I’ll be walking around Matsushima again tomorrow, so I’ll stop here for today and head to my hotel. My accommodation for today is Oku Matsushima, Higashi Matsushima City. It’s Oku Matsushima Lane Hotel in Higashi Matsushima City, Miyagi Prefecture. I checked in at the front desk and took the elevator to the second floor. The hotel is very clean, with a white theme. Room 215 [Standard Twin Room] Non-smoking. There’s a closet and toilet next to the entrance. The room is very spacious and clean . There are two semi-double beds , a refrigerator, an electric kettle, and a TV. There ‘s also a spacious desk that you can use. You can see the JR Senseki Line outside the window. The toilet isn’t very large, but it’s clean. There’s a large public bath, so I probably won’t use the bath in my room. In the closet there are hangers, towels, work clothes, and a safe. I headed straight to the large public bath. There’s a Famicom corner in the hallway! Super Mario and Momotetsu – nostalgic memories! The large public bath is on the first floor , “Matsushima Saga no Yu.” It is a nice feature that there is a reclining bath made of semi-natural Komyoishi hot spring water, which is said to warm you from the inside out and keep you warm after a bath. The water server is also convenient for after a bath. Dinner time is at “Restaurant Saga.” This time, we chose the easy set meal plan, It was quite luxurious, wasn’t it? Maitake mushroom tempura, boiled fish , rice, pickles , and fish ball soup. The tempura was crispy and the fish ball soup was delicious. There were two large, satisfying fish balls , and the main boiled fish. I forgot to ask what kind of fish it was, but it was a fatty fish similar to alfonsino , boiled in a sweet and spicy sauce, and the side dishes that went well with the rice were taro, butterbur, gluten, and burdock, all of which were flavorful and delicious. It was a high-quality dinner that you wouldn’t expect from the name of a simple set meal. I went back to my room to take a break and ate a peanut cream sandwich I bought at the roadside station. I ate it with the coffee that was in the room. There was lots of peanut cream inside . Yes, it tasted just as I expected, but it went well with the delicious coffee. The next morning , I had breakfast at the same place as yesterday, “Oku Matsushima Seafood Rice”. There was a wide variety of dishes to choose from, even in the morning! “Seasonal grilled fish” (sanma) , “Higashimatsushima longevity miso soup”, “Mekabu grated yam”, “Today’s small dish” (dried daikon radish) , “Seasonal salad”, “Yogurt”, “Green chili miso” , “Sea bream shabu-shabu”! It makes you feel luxurious from the morning, so I’m going to add ponzu sauce… Delicious! The enoki mushrooms, carrots, and shimeji mushrooms were all delicious. After the meal, I had some juice from the drink bar , which made me feel happy right from the start of the morning. Thank you for the meal. Check-out. Today, I’m going on a light mountain climb this morning. My destination is “Otakamori,” a scenic spot overlooking Matsushima, one of Japan’s Three Most Viewed Sites . The summit of Otakamori is 0.6km away. The trailhead for “Otakamori,” one of the four great Matsushima views, is here. The four great Matsushima views are four observation points within Matsushima Bay selected by Funayama Mannen, a Confucian scholar from the Sendai domain during the Edo period. They are Otakamori, Toyama, Tamonzan, and Ogidani, and are also known as Sokan, Reikan, Ikan, and Yukan. It’s only 100m until the summit! There was a bench so I could take a short rest. I could see that that was the summit. Oh… This is the view from Otakamori that is known as “spectacular.” It truly lived up to its name and was a magnificent view. My throat was dry so I bought some juice at “Aomina” and headed back to Matsushima town to have lunch. I parked my car in the same tourist parking lot as yesterday and headed to a place that had been on my mind: Matsushima Fish Market in Matsushima Town, Miyagi County, Miyagi Prefecture. There is a restaurant and a seafood section with a wide variety of seafood, so it should be called a fish theme park. I bought a Matsushima Oyster Burger, which is said to be a specialty, and ate it at the restaurant on the second floor. The “Matsushima Oyster Burger” cost 500 yen. It was a dish of oyster cream croquette sandwiched between buns. The cream croquette was quite thick and the rich flavor of the oysters was a perfect match with the bechamel sauce! I was very satisfied with being able to taste Matsushima oysters! There’s also a grilled oyster corner outside. With our stomachs full, we headed out to explore the scenery of Matsushima. While the view of Matsushima from Otakamori was nice, seeing it up close was also nice. Speaking of Matsushima , the famous haiku by Matsuo Basho, “Matsushima ya, oh Matsushima ya, Matsushima ya,” is apparently not actually by Matsuo Basho. Recent research suggests it was written by Tawarabo . On our way back, we stopped by “Kikuya Base,” located in Matsushima Town, Miyagi County, Miyagi Prefecture. On our way back, we noticed some fried sea squirt here, which we stopped in for a bite. The cooked version is more delicious than raw . Leaving Matsushima behind, our next destination was the famous Naruko Onsen in Osaki City . On the way, we spotted a roadside station and stopped in. “Roadside Station Oosato,” located in Osato Town, Kurokawa County, Miyagi Prefecture. Next time…
