[Music] [Applause] Thank you for watching! This video is about my first trip outside of my prefecture in a while. I wanted to arrive at my destination as early as possible, so I left around 3 AM. My destination this time was Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. I only had two days and one night in Kanazawa, so this video was full of eating and drinking, and I’ll be introducing various restaurants and hotels where I stayed, so I hope you’ll watch until the end. Please note that this Kanazawa trip video is divided into two parts. While we were talking, the surrounding scenery, which was in the middle of the road, became completely bright, and before we knew it, we arrived in Kanazawa. Including a quick break, the journey took about six hours in total, but we arrived in just 45 seconds. It’s fast, isn’t it? (laughs) First, let’s start from a surprising place, unlike Takechiyo’s usual location. This is the view we arrived at. It’s quite soothing, isn’t it? If you think, “Oh, I know this place,” you might be a Kanazawa master! So, the first place we visited was a famous shop in Nishi Chaya District. We stopped off before everything sold out. It’s called “Amanatto Kawamura.” Their business hours are 9:30 AM to 6 PM on weekdays, and 9 AM to 5 PM on Sundays and holidays. They’re closed on the first Tuesday of every month and during the New Year holidays. There’s a free parking lot diagonally across from the store, with 7 spaces. Let’s go! Let’s go! ♪ Once inside, the interior is completely different from the exterior. It’s a stylish space, almost like a jewelry shop. However, they mainly stock amanatto, though! ♪ Well, of course (lol), they also have them individually packaged, so you can buy your favorites individually. And, this was one of our goals! It’s the “6-Minute Monaka,” which is said to have a shelf life of just 6 minutes . I wanted to try it. Also, it seems that these monaka are from the adjacent shop next door, and orders are made here.By the way, payment can be made in cash or cashless payment. After completing your order, you go around to the back of the store and to the neighboring shop, Nomanoma, a specialty sweets shop for eating on the go, where it will be handed over to you.You can eat inside the storehouse right in front of you, and there are chairs set up in various places so you can take a short break and enjoy a monaka or drink.Since I ‘m here, I’d like to go inside the storehouse. The inside of the storehouse is also a very stylish space, and it seems that the eat-in space inside the storehouse has a 30-minute limit. And here is what I ordered! The salted bean paste mascarpone is 420 yen and the hot coffee is 450 yen. The crispy and light monaka wafer is perfectly matched with the lightly sweet bean paste and mascarpone with orange peel, making it incredibly delicious. I thought it was a good idea to come first thing in the morning, but then a sudden downpour hit Kanazawa. The saying goes, “You might forget your lunch, but don’t forget your umbrella.” I was very satisfied to be able to enjoy the monaka wafer with its new texture. By the way, I opened one of the things I bought at Kawamura . It’s Gorojima Kintoki, a Kaga vegetable. It’s quite sweet, but very delicious. The standard beans are good, but these would also make a great souvenir. That concludes Kawamura Amanatto in Nishi Chaya District. Next, I head towards Kanazawa Station. It’s so sunny that I wondered what the rain was all about. And next, I came across this place! If you’re visiting Kanazawa, Omicho Market is a must-visit. Since it was a weekday, it wasn’t as crowded as I expected, making it easy to walk around. And since you’re here, you’ll want to eat your way around. So, eel skewers and the first grilled loach I tried. While not as delicious as eel, loach is surprisingly tasty . Next up is this place! I was drawn in by the attractive sign. The seafood is good, but the meat is also amazing. The salmon roe on the far right is the height of luxury. The sashimi is just as good. The prices are amazing, too (lol) . They also recommended crab, and the place was bustling with activity. Next up is this place, right in front of the restaurant I just left! Two skewered domestic beef tendons for 500 yen. Beer is also 500 yen. When you think about how you can easily get a drink with just a 1,000 yen bill, it feels strangely cheap. So, while I was taking a break, I ordered something . The domestic beef tendon doteyaki was soft and surprisingly mild in flavor, and delicious. Next up was a croquette shop that often appears in various people’s videos. This croquette is listed on the left as the previous month’s sales ranking. If you think about it objectively, it’s a pricey croquette, but when you’re on vacation, you tend to loosen your purse strings, right? So I ordered the Noto Croquette, ranked #1 for 480 yen. It was pretty tasty, by the way. It ‘s pre-seasoned, so you can eat it without any sauce. This is Morimo Sushi, which I visited on my last trip. It was full by 10:30, but there were many other attractive restaurants, and I found one while wandering around. It’s Senbero. I have a reservation for lunch later, but I found it, so I couldn’t help it. So I bought the Senbero set for 1,000 yen. It includes a small bowl of the day, three kinds of sashimi, and a beer for 1,000 yen. It’s a very convenient set for a quick drink. Being able to drink and eat from noon until you arrive is one of the best parts of traveling, isn’t it? And as for the sashimi, it included two slices of sashimi, including well-fattened tuna and extremely fresh, delicious white fish, so it was a very satisfying Senbero set. I also had seared blackthroat seaperch. There were many other attractive menu items, including those priced at 1,800 yen, but my time at the next restaurant was approaching, so I decided to leave the fascinating zone of Omicho Market for now. I was very reluctant to leave, but my reservation at the next restaurant was approaching, so there was nothing I could do.The restaurant I had booked in advance for lunch was Sushiji, located about a 5-minute walk from Omicho Market.Other than a noren curtain and a sign, this restaurant seems to have absolutely nothing extraneous about it.It is located in Nishimachi Yonban-cho, Kanazawa City.Opening hours are 11:30am-2pm and 6pm-10pm, and the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays.By the way, there is no parking lot, so I will have to use a paid parking lot nearby. Now, let’s go! Let’s go inside! The interior is simple, just like the exterior, but clean and stylish. There are only 10 counter seats, and the lunch menu only has two options: a 10-piece sushi set for 5,000 yen or a 14-piece sushi set for 7,000 yen. The drinks menu looks like this, with a wide variety of sake, gin, wine, beer, highballs, plum wine, shochu, non-alcoholic beer, and soft drinks. There are many other options, but I won’t go into detail. I ordered 14 pieces of sushi, and after my drink order was completed, I waited patiently for the sushi to be served. First, I ordered Gorin Daiginjo sake for 1,100 yen. The Daiginjo sake is refreshing, easy to drink, with a rich aroma and delicious umami . The Kiriko sake cup adds a touch of elegance. The first sushi to arrive is flounder. It’s high in protein, yet has a refined umami flavor and a delicious texture. Next is the king of white meat, the ara, or bigfin reef squid. It’s also very sweet, with just the right amount of fat, and a strong sweetness. Next is the bigfin reef squid, which is also very sweet and finely chopped, making it easy to eat and providing a great texture . Next is the yellowtail, which is oily and rich, with a rich and mellow flavor . Next is the sweet shrimp, which has a sticky texture and a surprisingly rich sweetness that’s almost explosive. Next, I order a refill of Kaga Tobi’s Gokukan Junmai sake for 800 yen . It’s also refreshing, easy to drink, and reasonably priced . Next is the horse mackerel, which is incredibly fresh and firm, with just the right amount of fat. Next is the red sea bream. The firm elasticity, crisp texture and rich aroma were the best. Next was the scallop. It had a crunchy texture and a unique sweetness that made it really delicious. Next was the fatty tuna. The sticky texture and fatty fatty tuna had a special feel to it and was really delicious. Next was the grouper. The texture was soft and the flavor was rich. The chef even gave us a pun saying “Eat the grouper” which was 15 out of 100 (lol). Next up was the mayoi-bonito. Unlike the bonito we usually eat, it was very fatty, rich and sweet, and very delicious. Next up was the tuna. This also had the feel of aged tuna, with a distinctive sticky texture and a concentrated umami flavor. Next up was the eel. The crispy grilled eel had a great texture and was very tasty with lots of fat. The plump eel we eat locally is delicious, but the crispy type is also delicious. Next up was the fish soup. The soup came out at the perfect time and was very tasty with a strong dashi stock and umami flavor. Next up was the egg. The size was just right to end the meal, and the gentle sweetness was wonderful. Finally, we finished with some tea. By the way, in addition to cash, you can pay with credit card and electronic money. There were many rare sushi pieces that you can’t usually get, so I think 7,000 yen for 14 pieces is a great deal. Moreover, when I finished eating and looked at the time, I realized that about two hours had passed since I entered the restaurant. I was able to spend a meaningful time enjoying delicious sake and a short conversation with the chef . By the way, about three groups of customers came in during our meal, but the restaurant was full by opening time and we were unable to enter, so if you would like to visit Sushiji, I recommend making a reservation in advance. After our delicious lunch, we walked towards Kanazawa Castle Park . I was looking forward to trying some of Kanazawa’s famous desserts and buying some souvenirs, so I strolled around, enjoying the scenery and autumn leaves that I don’t usually get to see. Kanazawa is great to visit in winter, after all. The autumn leaves are beautiful, the food is delicious, and since it’s the beginning of December, there’s little chance of snow, so I can enjoy a pleasant stroll. I thought I’d go straight to Kanazawa Castle Park, but I completely skipped it. I thought I’d enjoy the scenery at Kenrokuen Garden, but I didn’t have time, so I skipped there too. My main purpose in this place was to eat and buy souvenirs, and this is where I wanted to do that! This shop, located in Kenrokucho, Kanazawa City, serves the original soft serve ice cream adorned with the sparkle of gold leaf . Opening hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and the cafe closes at 5:00 PM with a break during the day. Both the shop and cafe are closed on January 1st. By the way, there is no parking lot, so you’ll have to use the nearby paid parking lot. There was also a gorgeous Christmas version of soft serve ice cream, but as long as it had gold leaf on it, I’m happy. So this time I ordered a regular gold leaf soft serve. The price is 891 yen excluding tax, which I think comes from the same Hakuichi (891) as this shop. After ordering, they wrap the gold leaf around it right in front of you. I’m going to eat this and aim for good fortune (lol). By the way, you can pay with cash, credit card, electronic money, and QR code. And when I tried to take a commemorative photo, the gold leaf at the bottom was blown away by a strong wind. I felt like I’d lost hundreds of yen, but maybe it did improve my fortune a little. The soft serve was rich and very delicious. By the way, the shop has a variety of products using gold leaf, so if you’re interested, please stop by. There is also a shop of Sengoku warlords nearby, but the next shop we headed to is Chocolatory Ame no Uta, which makes a variety of chocolates using the rich ingredients of Ishikawa Prefecture and is also located in Kenroku-cho.The shop is open from 10am to 5:30pm and is closed on Wednesdays.Looking at the display case, there are many stylish chocolates, and a box of four costs 1,750 yen including tax, which is a little pricey, but it’s a special trip so it’s okay to splurge on an occasion like this.By the way, payment methods include cash and all cashless payments. With our souvenirs successfully purchased, this concludes our tour of the Kenrokuen area! It was approaching time to check in at my hotel reservation, so I quickly made my way there. The hotel I was staying at this time was the same one I stayed at the last time I came to Kanazawa, and I had such a good impression of it that I decided to stay there again this time. It’s about a 10-minute drive from Kanazawa Station, but you can also walk there without any problems. The hotel is located in Nagata, Kanazawa City, and is called Kanazawa Sainoniwa Hotel. Check-in is from 3pm to midnight, and check-out is at 12pm. There are 58 rooms, and pets are not allowed, but children are welcome. By the way, there is parking for 23 cars, so I recommend checking in early. Now, let’s go! Thank you for your patronage! This Irodori Hotel won the Jalan Award 2024 Kinki/Hokuriku Jalan of the Year Best Place to Stay award for two consecutive years . It has also been ranked as a hotel with delicious breakfasts popular among Japanese travelers for four consecutive years, and the breakfast is truly amazing. In addition to the lobby, there is also a spacious lounge where you can enjoy a free drink while enjoying the view from the large windows and conversation. Now that I’ve checked in, I’ll head to my room. My room this time is on the second floor, but it’s actually a little cheaper at the end and beginning of the month, so it’s a good deal. Also, this time I booked a cheap room for about 10,000 yen per person, but the hotel was kind enough to upgrade me to a nicer room for the same price. 。。。。 English: Thank you. There are also crafts in front of each room that can be purchased. As I looked around each room, I considered purchasing this glass helmet sculpture as a souvenir of my trip, but decided not to this time. So I would like to enter Room 203, where I will be staying. Behind the single door that I just opened is the entrance to the room, and the room is accessed by card key. After entering, insert the card key into the wall next to it and the lights in each room will turn on. This room is called a Separate Deluxe, and is a 45m2 Japanese-Western style twin room with a separate living room and bedroom. It is a spacious space that can accommodate up to four people. By the way, the beds in this room are made by Simmons. Next, the room at the back has tatami mats and a small table with an outlet, a low table that can seat four, and a large TV. There is also a sink, bath, and toilet between the bedroom and living room, and everything is clean and tidy, so it looks like you will be able to relax in peace. It is also unusual for the bathroom in the room to be this large, even though there is a large public bath on the first floor. Both the bath and toilet are very clean. By the way, this Simmons bed is quite firm. The low table is surprisingly comfortable. This low desk is also stylish and nice. There’s a safe in the center drawer. There’s also a large window next to the living room, and you can enjoy the view by opening the curtains. On a different note, there are so many places I want to visit in Kanazawa, so honestly, two days and one night just isn’t enough time. I think two nights and three days would be enough to see everything I wanted to see. Anyway , back to the main topic, the sink is stocked with bath towels, body towels, hand towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, hand soap, face wash, lotion, milky lotion, cleanser, combs, cotton balls, and cotton swabs. There’s also the hotel’s original loungewear, tea, coffee, and water. I forgot to take a picture, but there’s also a small refrigerator underneath. By the way, this was my first time trying the rakugan sweets that came with the room, and they were delicious! There’s also a large public bath on the first floor, and two massage chairs on the floor just before it. Another surprise: there’s also a workout room in the room next to the bath. It’s amazing, isn’t it? I would like to relax for a bit, but I have a reservation at an izakaya in the evening and the front desk has arranged for a taxi, so I think it’s time to head to the lobby. Since the video is getting long, I will end the first half here. Next time, I will continue from the evening at an izakaya, so I hope you will also watch the second part of my Kanazawa trip. See you in the next video! Thank you for watching the first part until the end ♪ [Music] Please subscribe to the channel and rate it highly ♪
