Hawaii Vlog🌺7日間のハワイ旅行総集編|全費用公開&トラベルガイド完全版、ホノルル・ワイキキ・カイルア・ノースショアを巡る旅
Flying from California to Hawaii! The flight takes about six hours. On Hawaiian Airlines, they give you Honolulu Cookies before landing. We reserved a rental car with Hertz at the airport and picked up a Ford SUV. Hi, I’m YURIE, a travel writer. In this vlog, I’m sharing our six-night, seven-day trip to Hawaii. We have some time before hotel check-in, so we’re heading out for lunch first. We’re going to our must-visit ahi poke spot every time we come to Hawaii. About a 20-minute drive from Waikiki, we arrived at Off the Hook, famous for its ahi poke. You can only get here by car, so we always stop by when we rent a car. We ordered a small size with brown rice, cold ginger ahi and spicy ahi. I highly recommend the cold ginger ahi. It’s so good, you have to try it. I also tasted the Hawaiian flavor my husband ordered, and it was light and delicious too. It’s amazing how many places in the U.S. let you bring dogs inside. We grabbed some water at a nearby supermarket and continued our drive. We arrived in Kailua. It’s about a 30–40 minute drive from Waikiki. This is GILLIA, a boutique in Kailua that we visit every time we come to Hawaii. It happened to be a U.S. holiday, so they were having a sale. They had a great selection of swimsuits this year. I picked up a swimsuit, a dress, and linen pants. We stopped by Café Nalu next door to GILLIA. They also have a location in Waikiki. I grabbed an iced Americano. We tried to go to ULTA Beauty, but it was closed. Then we headed to Whole Foods to look for souvenirs. Their popular eco bags come in lots of Hawaii-exclusive designs. The pastel-colored Hydro Flasks were super cute too. We drove along the east coast of Oahu. We found a beautiful beach, so we pulled over. This might be a pretty hidden-gem beach. Next time I’ll bring a swimsuit and towel. We drove north from Kailua and made it up to the Kahuku area. Snack time with garlic shrimp. We shared one plate between the two of us. The garlic shrimp here had big, meaty pieces and were really satisfying. There was heavy traffic in the evening, but we managed to make it back to Honolulu. Time to check in. We’ll be staying at Halekulani for three nights. This time we’re in an oceanfront room. Right in front of us is the Orchid Pool. At Halekulani, all rooms have a separate bathtub and shower. The amenities are well stocked with cotton pads, cotton swabs, makeup remover, and more. Unusually for a U.S. hotel, they even provide toothbrushes. I was also happy to see they use the same Repronizer hair dryer I love at home. Since it was our wedding anniversary, they treated us to celebratory champagne. Thank you so much. On top of the champagne, there was even a cake waiting in the fridge. We’re planning to enjoy it slowly tonight. Happy hour was already over, but we’re heading to Monkeypod. We heard the wait was pretty long, so we changed plans and went somewhere else. It’s always crowded, so it’s better to make a reservation. We decided to go to Roy’s for the first time in a while. It’s right in front of Halekulani. We had some drinks at the counter. They served edamame as a starter, which felt very much like Japan, lol. From the appetizers, we ordered the crab cake. It was packed with crab and the sauce was delicious. It went perfectly with white wine. Time for our second stop. We decided where to go while wandering around. We were craving meat, so we went to the second location of Han no Daidokoro that opened in Waikiki. The other location is in Ward Village. We started with yukhoe, Korean-style beef tartare. We wrapped up with stone-grilled garlic rice, recommended by a local friend. They cook it right in front of you, and it was insanely good. We went back to the hotel and had coconut cake for dessert. It was my first time trying Halekulani’s coconut cake. The soft, fluffy sponge and lightly sweet cream were absolutely amazing, very similar to Japanese cakes. I’ll take a bath, put on a face mask I bought in Korea, and go to bed. They left a little sandal-shaped magnet at turndown. When I stepped out onto the lanai in the morning, there was a beautiful rainbow. For breakfast, we chose the buffet at the hotel’s first-floor restaurant. Compared to right after the pandemic, it feels like the Japanese options have really improved. When there’s a buffet, I always end up going for Japanese food, lol. My plate looks totally Japanese. Time to check out the Halekulani shop. We’ll change in the room and head to the pool. Today is all about relaxing. We had lunch by the pool. Ahi poke again. On the way to return the rental car, we stopped by Ala Moana. I bought just a little something at Hermès. No bags this time though. We grabbed an Uber to Kahala, where we had a dinner reservation. The chandelier at The Kahala Hotel is beautiful every time I see it. For our anniversary dinner, we went to Arancino at The Kahala. Their signature sweet shrimp and caviar dish is my absolute favorite. For starters, we had beef carpaccio topped with the cheese they were shaving earlier. We couldn’t choose between pasta and risotto, so we ordered both, lol. It was my first time trying the squid ink risotto, and it was a little spicy and so good. And of course, we had their famous uni pasta too. Since it was our anniversary, they surprised us with a cake. Because we had an early dinner, we were able to watch the sunset from our room. My husband bought a new swimsuit. We gave up on watching the Fourth of July fireworks early and went out for drinks instead. I really don’t like crowds, lol. It seems Herringbone’s late-night happy hour starts at 9 p.m. We watched the fireworks from different U.S. states on TV. We ended our anniversary at the Halekulani jazz bar. I definitely recommend making a reservation. It’s day three in Hawaii. We’re planning to spend the morning at the pool and the afternoon shopping in Waikiki. I got pretty sunburned yesterday, so I’m using a cooling sheet mask I bought in Korea. Like yesterday, we had the buffet again, but some of the menu items were different. After breakfast, we did a light workout at the gym. The gym also had an ocean view. After the gym, we changed into swimsuits and headed to the pool. We worked out, but then had beer, so it probably cancelled everything out, lol. Whenever I’m in the tropics, I crave piña coladas. A little sparrow came to visit. It was so used to people it didn’t fly away at all. The ice cream we got by the pool was so good. It was pineapple-flavored. We had lunch by the pool again today. The sandwich was really good. It was quite filling, so sharing was just right. In the evening, we went shopping around Waikiki. KITH had lots of Hawaii-exclusive items. At STIX, we bought rice balls for tomorrow’s breakfast. For dinner, we went out for Spanish food. We toasted with txakoli, which I fell in love with after drinking it in San Sebastián. We ordered a plate of cured ham. It went so well with wine. I finally got to try the paella I’d been curious about for so long, and it totally lived up to the hype. The Spanish food was excellent. I’d definitely come back. I just realized that if you’re splitting things up anyway, buying them individually is cheaper, lol. Something unexpected happened — a YouTube viewer came up and said hi. I was so happy. Thank you so much. The ABC Store near Halekulani had a great wine selection too. We made it back to the hotel. Good morning. It’s day four in Hawaii, and we’re changing hotels today. For breakfast, we’re having the rice balls we bought yesterday out on the lanai. I’m pairing it with freeze-dried miso soup I brought from home. STIX’s Nana Musubi comes with crispy nori sheets sold separately, which I love. I also like that you can choose brown rice or multigrain rice. I went for the multigrain takana filling. On our last morning here, we’re spending time at the pool until check-out. (And probably drinking again.) From today, we’re moving to a new hotel. It just finished a major renovation in June 2025, and we’re checking into The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach. Let’s start the room tour. This stay is part of a hotel review assignment. I’ve put together a detailed review, so I’ll link it in the description. Our room this time is a Deluxe Ocean View Suite with one bedroom. It’s a residence-style suite with a full kitchen. Both the fridge and freezer are full-size. It’s fully equipped with cookware and tableware, perfect for longer stays. There’s even a toaster, kettle, and juicer. I think this might be a complimentary tumbler to take home. Next is the bedroom, which is separated from the living room, making it very comfortable. The bedroom also has an ocean view. There’s a walk-in closet, so there’s plenty of storage space. The bathroom is luxuriously finished with lots of marble. The amenities are from Diptyque. I also love that there’s a separate bathtub. The double sinks make the bathroom feel really spacious. It comes with toothbrushes and all the basic amenities. There’s another closet in the bedroom. Open the door by the entrance and there’s a washer and dryer, which is so helpful. We’re heading to a boutique we visit every time we come to Hawaii. The mesh skirt was so cute, I kept going back and forth on it. We rented bikes and headed to SALT at Our Kaka‘ako. The price for Biki versus Uber was almost the same, lol. In the U.S., bicycles are treated as vehicles, so you ride in the bike lane or on the road. The lanes with bicycle symbols are the bike lanes. Since they’re treated like vehicles, you follow the traffic lights for cars. It was slightly cloudy and nice and cool, which made for a great workout. We dropped off the bikes at a station near our destination and arrived safely. This is another boutique I always check out when I visit Hawaii. They didn’t have what I wanted this time, but I’d still like to stop by again on my next trip. We had some time before our dinner reservation, so we grabbed a quick drink at a nearby bar. I had my favorite mead from Mānoa. Then we headed to one of Hawaii’s hottest new restaurants, where reservations are hard to get. I finally made it to PARIS, a place I’d been dying to try. I’m having a girls’ night with a friend who lives here. Since we’re here, we went for the wine pairing. First up was a watermelon kombucha. The first course was ahi poke with oysters and beef, light and really tasty. The second course was a vegetable tart. The third course was amberjack carpaccio. It was beautiful and impressive. The burst of finger lime and its acidity paired perfectly and made it incredible. The fourth course was sautéed sea bass. This was also light and delicious. The chef is Japanese, so the lighter style of French cuisine was perfect for my taste. The fifth course was risotto, and we added uni to one of them. The sixth course was the main meat dish with upgraded beef. And this is the regular chicken option. The meat was great, and even the side of eggplant was tender and delicious. The Japanese chef was so handsome too. (Filmed with permission.) For dessert, we had peach and mango sorbet. I was able to enjoy every course without feeling too full and left completely satisfied. I’d love to come back. We’re back at the hotel. The pool stays open at night, which is great if you want to avoid the sun. Good morning. It’s day five in Hawaii. We’re having breakfast at the lobby-level restaurant. I ordered the omelet with kalua pork. It’s hearty and one of my favorites. And of course, classic Hawaiian loco moco. Both dishes were super filling and delicious. There’s also a boutique inside The Ritz-Carlton Waikiki. The selection was really well curated and stylish. We reserved a cabana until early afternoon, so we’re just taking it easy. Here’s what the inside of the cabana looks like. It even has a TV. The snacks that are set out are complimentary. Having a safe in the cabana is reassuring too. The fridge is stocked with chilled water and sparkling water, and the bottles are cute. By the way, this pool is for adults only, and there’s a family pool on the opposite side across the lobby. The adult pool is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., which is great because you can enjoy it at night too. We’re heading out for lunch. We’re going to Tim Ho Wan at the Royal Hawaiian Center. Tim Ho Wan also has locations in places like Las Vegas and New York. This was our first time at the Hawaii location. We toasted with Tsingtao beer. This light, refreshing kind of food was exactly what I was craving, lol. I was so happy I got to have my favorite shrimp dumplings too. It made me want to go back to Hong Kong, lol. After lunch, we strolled around Waikiki. We stopped by ALOHA Collection to buy a pouch. I picked up a mini pouch. I’ll show what I bought at the end of the video. On the first floor of our hotel, we browsed Dean & DeLuca for souvenirs. They had new colors of their eco bags. They were also selling my favorite mead, but it was almost double the usual price, which surprised me, lol. There were lots of Hawaii-exclusive items besides bags. I bought my favorite plantation iced tea, and my husband got green tea. As always in Hawaii, we went out for sushi, this time at a new place. It’s BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle), so we brought wine from California. They had nice champagne at ABC Store too, so next time I’ll just buy it locally. The sashimi is eaten by swishing it over hot rock salt, kind of like shabu-shabu. It was a first for me. They take all their reservations at the beginning of the month, two months in advance. I made our reservation by phone. We started the nigiri course with tuna. I was really happy because shellfish other than oysters and blue-back fish are hard to find in the U.S. It was delicious and great value. I’ll definitely book again. Good morning. It’s day six in Hawaii. I’d been lacking exercise, so I hit the gym first thing in the morning. I was impressed they even had chilled towels. For breakfast today, we ordered room service. It was an American breakfast, but I made it a bit Japanese by choosing fried eggs, sausages, and white rice. When you’re getting tired of Western food, having plain rice really helps. I had it together with freeze-dried miso soup I brought from home. For my drink, I chose plantation iced tea. After two lovely nights at The Ritz-Carlton, we checked out reluctantly. Today we’re going on a drive with a friend who lives here, heading a bit farther out. About 40 minutes by car from Waikiki, we arrived in an area called Wahiawa. For lunch, we’re trying some classic local Hawaiian food for the first time. Wahiawa is a laid-back local town on the west side of Oahu. This diner is loved by locals for its house-made saimin. We went a little after noon and ended up waiting about 40 minutes in line. Their cheeseburgers are famous too, so we added one, plus some skewered meat. Saimin is a Hawaiian specialty, a noodle dish that’s somewhere between ramen and udon. The flavor is gentle, kind of similar to Okinawa soba. The noodles are made in house. We split the popular cheeseburger between us. The burger was way better than I expected, which really surprised me, lol. After lunch, we drove up toward the North Shore. We headed for Haleiwa Town, about 20 minutes away by car. We arrived at the café we’d been looking forward to. It’s a renovated gas station turned café, with a yoga studio attached. The wood-filled interior is stylish and very calming. There’s also a small goods corner with lots of stylish items. On the way, we stopped by a small town mall. It’s home to a premium coffee roaster and café that started on the North Shore. The granola looked amazing, but since I was heading straight back to Japan, I’ll try it next time. They had lots of Hawaii-style items too, perfect for souvenir shopping. This place is famous in Haleiwa for its acai bowls. We ordered their popular acai bowl to go. Google Maps showed they were already closed, but when we passed by, they were still open. I’d been curious about this café, so I felt really lucky. U.S. cafés often sell such cute merchandise that I can’t stop looking around. The matcha latte was rich and delicious, just as good as what you’d get in Japan. From the North Shore, we drove back toward Waikiki. I heard traffic gets bad in the evening, so it’s best to leave for the North Shore in the morning and head back early afternoon. We drove past Waikiki and continued on to Hawaii Kai. We crossed the famous ALOHA crosswalk. This is the spot. I’ve shared more details in an Instagram Reel too. It’s in a residential area, so please watch out for cars and be considerate of the people who live there. We’re checking into the hotel where we’ll stay just for our final night. Thanks to my Hyatt Globalist status, we were upgraded to a junior suite. It looks like this is a different tower from the room we stayed in before. The view from the lanai feels a bit different too. There was a tumbler left in the room as a gift. The fridge and coffee machine are fully set up. It looks like the bathroom has been renovated, and all the fixtures are nice and new. Compared to our previous stay, the room feels much newer, which was a nice surprise. The amenities include toothbrushes, and the shampoo and other products are spa-grade and feel great. At sunset, the sky turned a soft shade of pink. We used points for this stay, but I’ll include the reference cash rate. On our last night, we had a quick drink with a friend at Herringbone. We snacked on salad and grilled octopus. The fish tacos our server recommended were really good. It was a full day spent exploring all around Oahu. I’m so grateful to my friend for driving us to so many places. Good morning. It’s our last day in Hawaii. Our flight back to Japan is in the evening, so we’ll enjoy ourselves until early afternoon. First, we’re heading out for breakfast. We came back to the International Market Place, even though we were here last night too, lol. This is what we came for. I wanted to end the trip with something very “Hawaii.” We’re at Liliha Bakery, kind of like Hawaii’s classic family restaurant. I was curious about this donut that looks a bit like a Pon de Ring. If you’re okay with the bar counter, they’ll usually seat you a little faster when a spot opens up. I always order loco moco, so today I’m finally trying another dish I’ve been eyeing. This butter bread is a must-try. It’s so good. I went with the oxtail soup everyone raves about. It comes with rice and ginger. At Liliha Bakery, the rice portions tend to be about one and a half times bigger than I expect, lol. This might be a new favorite. The meat was hearty and really delicious. Personally, I think it’s big enough for two, so it’s perfect for sharing or taking half to go. The oxtail soup was so good I’ll definitely order it again. During the trip, I lost my favorite OOFOS sandals. I found out there’s a shop that carries them in Beach Walk, so we’re going to check it out. I bought another pair of black platform OOFOS. Since I’m flying straight back to Japan this time, we went to Sephora to look for small gifts. The mini items by the register are perfect as little souvenirs. We’re back at the hotel. Scouting out the pool. I wonder if it’s crowded. The pool is on the smaller side, so maybe most people head to the beach instead. We had access to the club lounge, so of course we had to check it out. You can help yourself to coffee, cookies, and more. The space is surprisingly large. You can go out onto the terrace, and breakfast is also served here. I suddenly had to get some work done, so for our last lunch we ordered ahi poke via Uber. This was our second Off the Hook visit this trip. I was so happy we got to have delicious ahi poke one more time. Time to head to the airport. We booked our Hawaii–Haneda flight on Delta miles. It was under 20,000 miles, which was an incredible deal. Redeeming Delta miles might be a hidden gem. At the end of the video, I’ll show you what I bought in Hawaii. For today’s Hawaii haul, I’m just going to do a hands-only show-and-tell. The place where I bought the most is a boutique in Kailua called “GILLIA.” They happened to be having a sale, so I picked up a few things. GILLIA usually has sales over long weekends, so I was able to get some good deals this time too. This one was maybe 10% off? 25%? I kind of forgot, but it was a pretty good discount. First item: this dress that I actually wore to dinner during my stay in Hawaii. It looks like this, and the back has a lace-up detail here. When you cinch this part at the end, it looks really cute. It looks a little like an apron, but when you actually wear it, it looks like this. Next is this pair of white pants. I’ve already worn these several times, and they’re a bit wrinkled because I washed them. Just like the dress, they’re made of linen. They have proper belt loops, and the back is partially elasticated. I got them in size S. Because they’re linen, they’re very breezy and comfortable even in summer. The fit around the hips is a little bulky, so I’d like to style them more thoughtfully next time. Next is a swimsuit from GILLIA. Since around last year, GILLIA has been making swimwear as well, and I’ve been curious about them. This time I was looking for a white swimsuit, so I decided to get this one. The fabric has a slightly towel-like texture, and the top and bottom are sold separately. I got the top in size M and the bottoms in size S. There is one issue: unlike swimsuits in Japan, there are no pads sewn inside. When I’m back in Japan, I’ll ask at a clothing repair shop if they can add pads for me. I definitely don’t have the courage to wear it without pads. Otherwise, I might wear it with a Nubra underneath. I’m hoping to wear this white bikini next time I go to Hawaii. Next is a pouch from “ALOHA Collection.” This is the one I’ve been loving and using a lot that I got from a friend. This time I bought the same pouch in a different print. The monochrome pattern with a pop of pink accent is so cute. It’s waterproof, so it’s really handy for beach days. The price was 24 dollars. Next is a bunch of body butters from “Josie Maran” that I bought as souvenirs. They originally come in a big jar, and this is the travel-size version. They come in plastic packets, so they don’t take up much space and are super convenient. They’re about 14 dollars each. They’re perfect little gifts for my girlfriends. Personally, my favorite scent is Fig. The other scents also have really cute packaging, so I picked up a few different ones as souvenirs. I also bought the classic “Honolulu Cookie.” I’ve already eaten quite a lot of them. I just realized that the “build-your-own box” type is cheaper than the pre-packed boxes. For home, I feel like this is more than enough. Now let’s move on to the big-ticket items. This time, I didn’t buy any bags from Hermès. I had them pull a few items I requested in advance and picked them up. First up is the item I knew I wanted to buy as soon as the new collection launched. The first one is a cashmere-silk stole. I used to have a beige bandana-print one, but I lost it while traveling, and since then I’ve been looking for a similar color. I think the monochrome (black and white) version is probably more popular in Japan. The center has a heart-like design. The border is a wine red shade, leaning toward bordeaux. I’ve already been using it, so it’s not in brand-new condition anymore… Next up are sneakers. My husband bought the same model in the men’s version before, and I wanted to match with him, so I got the women’s pair. They’re called “Bouncing,” and they have an H on the side. I love the mix of leather and suede textures. Lastly, this is actually another Hermès piece, so let’s open it up. Since it’s for myself, I asked for simple wrapping—no box, just tissue paper. This is an Hermès book. I often do product photography both for work and privately, so I like collecting coffee-table books that work well as props. The pages are all so beautiful. There are illustrations of bags like the Birkin and the Constance too. That’s everything I bought in Hawaii this time. I didn’t shop that much on this trip, so the haul ended up being a bit short. Thank you for watching the Hawaii vlog and haul to the end. I’m looking forward to seeing you in the next video. Thank you for watching!!
